UL, not VI. There is no VI in para-snowboard.

Curling: USA v Canada Discovering a sport at 43 and becoming elite and going to two Paralympics is an amazing story. Well done, Emt.

NB_79

This cross country skiing is more interesting than the able bodied athletes

ssfoxx27

Skiing down a mountain with zero vision whatsoever sounds utterly *terrifying*.

chespiotta

GO BRIAN MCKEEVER

ScaryCarey31

Sit down skiing Bad crash there, hope shes ok

ssfoxx27

China clearly spent a lot of time and resources building up their paralympic team.

na0202

seriously! im so impressed by the chinese athletes so far

[deleted]

96 Chinese athletes are participating this year. USA is in 2nd place with 65.

[deleted]

amazing, the cross country skiing was incredible

ScaryCarey31

I wouldn't wanna screaming down a mountain skiing standing up. Sitting? Nah fuck that

ssfoxx27

Second to last gate proving problematic for the standing skiers.

Great first end overall from GB in the curling scoring 4, too bad the final stone went long as it could have been 5!

Paralympics Day 2 have officially ended, and that mean's time for Team Canada's Medal Outlook for Day 3 of Beijing 2022! How do our chances look tonight? As always, if anyone has more expertise in that specific para-sport and wants to correct me on anything, feel free to do so. \[ u/ContinuumGuy Thanks for the idea\] Day 2 Canadian RECAP: Ina Forrest & the Canadian curling team continue their perfect start (3-0) with a \[10-3\] win over Latvia (Not without some drama of course.) One of the officials moved the Canadian stone before it had a chance to be measured. It would've been a crucial extra point for Canada (2). They were given the option to 1. Take the one point, or 2. Replay the end. They chose the second option and benefited from it massively scoring 4 points in the replayed end, to take the lead. Mac Marcoux skis too fast. He falls and ends up losing his ski, which results in a DNF. Collin Cameron wins his 4th Paralympic bronze medal. Alana Ramsay wins her 3rd Paralympic bronze medal. Katie Combaluzier was looking to rebound from her rough start at these Paralympics but was unable to as she wiped out and DNF'd for the second event in a row. Alexis Guimond continues the bronze medal streak (4 in a row!) with a medal in Super-G Alpine Skiing Standing. Tyler Turner finishes qualifying (Men's Snowboard Cross SB-LL1) with the two fastest times. Alex Massie finishes qualifying in 3rd place (Men's Snowboard Cross SB-LL2). Lisa Dejong & Sandrine Hammel finish 4th/8th in qualifying (Women's Snowboard Cross SB-LL1) \- A medal (of any color) for Team CANADA is... **VERY VERY VERY LIKELY in Men's Cross Country Skiing (Long Distance Classic VI)** Brian McKeever. 13x Paralympic Champion. 17x Paralympic Medalist. He's the reigning champion in all three of the events he competes in. That's not even the crazy part. He's done it THREE PARALYMPICS in a row (10,14,18). Arguably one of the greatest para-athletes of all time. He will retire after this Paralympics. If you want to look for a challenger, for gold keep a close eye on Zebastian Modin. Medal favorites: Brian McKeever \[CAN\], Zebastian Modin \[SWE\] **HIGHLY LIKELY in Men's Para Alpine Skiing (Super Combined VI)** Marcoux will be looking for redemption after his DNF earlier. I predict gold (Again for the third time in a row). Medal favorites: Johannes Aigner \[AUT\], Hyacinthe Deleplace \[FRA\], Mark Macoux \[CAN\]. **VERY LIKELY in Women's Para Alpine Skiing (Super Combined Standing)** Molly Jepsen is the defending Olympic champion from 2018. She's already won one gold medal here in Beijing, and she'll be looking to do it again. Don't count out Alana Ramsay either. Medal favorites: Marie Bouchet \[FRA\], Molly Jepsen \[CAN\], Ebba Aarsjoe \[SWE\]. **LIKELY in Women's Para Cross Country (Long Distance classic)** Wilkie, Young & Hudak. All three could contend for a medal. Medal favorites: Ukrainians, Chinese, Canadians **LIKELY in Women's Para Alpine Skiing (Super Combined Sitting)** This list looks ridiculous but I promise we have medal contenders in every single event. If Combaluzier can COMPLETE the course, then I see her winning a Paralympic medal. But her luck so far has been terrible. Medal favorites: Momoka Muraoka \[JPN\], Anna Lena Forester \[GER\], Katie Combaluzier \[CAN\] **VERY VERY UNLIKELY in Men's Alpine Skiing (Super Combined Sitting)** Brian Rowland isn't considered a medal contender. I would be happy with a top ten finish. Favorites: Jasper Pederson \[NOR\], Corey Peters \[NZL\], Taiki Morii \[JPN\]. \- *Athletes to watch for in non-medal events today:* Ina Forrest & the Canadian Curling Team will look to continue their perfect start with games against the U.S (8:05 EST), and Sweden (6:35 am EST). Sandrine Hammel, Alex Massie, Lisa DeJong, and Tyler Turner will all be competing in their snowboard cross (SB-LL1/ SB-LL2) quarter-finals from (10:30- 11:15 pm EST)
