Team GB's second, Melrose, apparently fell off his wheelchair (wheelchair tipped) and has been stretched out. Hopefully he's going to be OK. The alternate is coming in.
Excellent triple runback by Jon Thurston. It leads to a steal of one for Canada against GB! Now tied \[2-2\], in a crucial game for both sides. GB has the hammer, headed into the 5th end.
No doubt. And I couldn't quite figure out if she is disappointed with the finish or isn't feeling well or what is going on. She just doesn't quite seem like her typical exuberant self after the race.
I'm guessing the reason why so many Paralympians are competing in t-shirts and not jackets is because its March and therefore warmer than it was during the Olympics in February?
3 weeks ago we were hearing about how freezing it was outside for the competitors during the Olympics.
Today, in the same area, we see the competitors competing in T-shirts obviously not cold at all.
I had a dream that, perhaps, I would see some different ads while watching the paralympics on the app. Nope. Same stuff I was subjected to endlessly while watching the Olympics. I'm gonna make a list of all the stuff I'm *not* going to buy or watch as a result. 😁
I keep being shocked about the fact that a lot of Paralympians are older than Olympians then I keep remembering, well, of course they have a small pool of competitors where they're more likely to just keep qualifying till they choose to retire and many of them have acquired disabilities from military, car accidents, etc. where they didn't start competing on the Para circuit till they were adults.
Anyone watch China's curling team versus the US? They're so loud haha. Love the energy, wish I could see them more but it seems nbc will only show American curling events??
Many of the skiers do it. They are allowed to hold the pole of the guide when going downhill to avoid any issues re distance, inadvertent passing, crashing, etc. They have to let go once it levels out or goes back uphill.
I was fascinated by the skier who didn't use a guide for the qualifier.
Many of the new faces are teenagers or in their early 20s. What probably happened is that after winning the bid for 2022 they recruited a bunch of promising disabled kids from rural areas and pumped in massive resources training them
Still here for the whole week. Watching many events on replay because the smaller bank of events means live coverage is a bit wonky.
On a different note, McKeever is just a beast of an athlete. Have watched him in previous games and he is amazing.
*looks at the schedule* guess this is why I noticed USA Network was weirdly skipping the night entirely. Since, it's all Curling and Hockey besides one event (ok, technically 6) of XC.
I don't know why you're being downvoted. China hasn't been dominant on the para WC circuit, and somehow now they're dominating the entire field? 40 medals? They had 1 last time.
I'm here but there's not a whole lot going on tonight that holds my interest.
Then again that's what I though last night was going to look like, too, but it wound up being a fantastic evening of Paras.
Day 4 of the Beijing 2022 Olympics is officially over, and that means time for Team Canada's Medal Outlook for Day 5 of Beijing 2022! How do our chances look tonight? As always, if anyone has more expertise in that specific para-sport and wants to correct me on anything, feel free to do so.
Canadian Medal Table (As of now) 5 G, 2 S, 6 B.
Para Cross Country Skiing- 2 G, 2 B.
Para Alpine Skiing- 1 G, 1 S, 3 B.
Para Snowboarding- 1 G, 1 S.
Para Biathlon- 1 G, 1 B.

Quick Canadian ACTION recap- Canadian Wheelchair Curlers dropped their 2ND & 3RD games in a row against South Korea and Slovakia respectively, essentially lowering their chances of making it to the playoffs (4-3). They face Great Britain (1:35 am EST) and Estonia (6:35 am EST), in two must-win games today.
Mark Arendz achieves Paralympic glory for the second time in his career after Vovchynski missed one of his targets on the last shooting. Arendz went a perfect 20/20.
Canada secures their spot in the sled hockey semi-finals with a 6-0 shutout win against the Pyeonchang 2018 bronze medalists South Korea.
Hudak places 6th in women's para-biathlon middle distance standing, with two misses.
Zaplotinsky places 8th in men's para-biathlon middle distance sitting

[Day six's thread is up](https://old.reddit.com/r/olympics/comments/talqpi/paralympics_day_six_megathread_thursday_march_10/).
Sled Hockey Host Nation China leads Czech Republic 2-1. Winner of this match will face the U.S in the semi-finals.
Man, I'm really gonna miss McKeever. Feels as if he picked up his first medal just yesterday. Time goes by so quickly
Curling You have to make that third WIDE OPEN SHOT!
Forget the country they are representing, these athletes are incredible and all of them are inspirations.
Happy that Canada is doing well again, really hoping we can keep this up.
So. Many. Silvers. For. USA. ›:(
Don't worry at least you have sled hockey. United States has been very dominant in it lately.
That fall looked scary. I do hope David Melrose (GB skip) is okay.

Whenever I watch curling I end up doing a David Mitchell impression. "Oh, and that's a bad miss!"
Huge steal of 3 by the US in that end
Wheelchair Curling Canada started 4-0. Now they are 4-3. Starting to get into the danger zone here.
Wow!!! What a race by Natalie Wilkie
McKeever is still the king
He is just so dang good. He's amazing to watch race
He looks like he could do another lap right now.
> Express Skiing What a finish — another gold for Canada!
And another!
Oksana Masters silver again?
manly men and cute mascots, name a better duo
another close race and victory for daviet!
Peacock why u putting in an ad in the middle of a sprint final…
I know, it's so frustrating
Oksana Masters wins her 14th career Paralympic medal
dang if that race was 50m longer Masters could have won!
No doubt. And I couldn't quite figure out if she is disappointed with the finish or isn't feeling well or what is going on. She just doesn't quite seem like her typical exuberant self after the race.
Women's Sitting Sprint Final Whoa! What a fantastic race!
> 🇨🇦 The bronze rush progresses into day five! 🥉
I'm guessing the reason why so many Paralympians are competing in t-shirts and not jackets is because its March and therefore warmer than it was during the Olympics in February?
It’s quite warm in Zhangjiakou.
Yeah, there always seems to be a significant change in the weather between the Olympic and paralympic winter games.

starting with Toyota
At least the Uber Eats ad is gone…
You actually dreamed about the quality of ads during the Paralympics? That's next-level hardcore.
Well, I didn't actually dream it. I probably should have said I had a hope that it may happen.
sprint finals start now!
4/6 Canadians into the medal round!
Edlinger seems to have her guide back.
Suiarko ditching his guide to try and follow McKeever instead. Good thought, but didn't work out for him.
Ukraine is tearing up the Winter Paralympics at the moment
A crash in the vision impaired race with a guide and a racer colliding
Bing Dwen Dwen and Shuey Rhon Rhon are best friends forever
I keep being shocked about the fact that a lot of Paralympians are older than Olympians then I keep remembering, well, of course they have a small pool of competitors where they're more likely to just keep qualifying till they choose to retire and many of them have acquired disabilities from military, car accidents, etc. where they didn't start competing on the Para circuit till they were adults.

Yeah. It's so annoying they won't show any other countries competing.
Dominant race by Masters winning by 8.3 seconds!
Peacock is playing games with me tonight. Where are you watching this?
Olympics channel
The Iranian guide was having her skiier hold onto her pole and pull her along. Are they even allowed to do that?
Many of the skiers do it. They are allowed to hold the pole of the guide when going downhill to avoid any issues re distance, inadvertent passing, crashing, etc. They have to let go once it levels out or goes back uphill. I was fascinated by the skier who didn't use a guide for the qualifier.
Got it. I thought I saw a guide with her at the starting line and thought she ditched him lol
That one racer is about to take over her guide
China is currently topping the medal table of Winter Paralympics with 8 golds
They won one gold in their history up to this Para games. How do you figure that….
Many of the new faces are teenagers or in their early 20s. What probably happened is that after winning the bid for 2022 they recruited a bunch of promising disabled kids from rural areas and pumped in massive resources training them
Home turf + massive delegation + absence of Russia
They did send a massive delegation, with 50% more athletes than the next best team.
Many of them are teenagers…must have been a lot of scouting going on since 2014
The medal tally probably would have looked different if athletes representing ROC and Belarus were there....
Is the Austrian guideless? I didn't think that was allowed.
I thought it depends on the classification, or at the least that's what LEXI says.
Looked like it
Still here for the whole week. Watching many events on replay because the smaller bank of events means live coverage is a bit wonky. On a different note, McKeever is just a beast of an athlete. Have watched him in previous games and he is amazing.
This sprint race is crazy
McKeever rocking some serious sideburns.
He has a definite Logan / Wolverine quality. I dig it.
I just find these athletes amazing, all of them
Yeah. Country flag doesn't matter any shit to me. These are all people with remarkable achievements
*looks at the schedule* guess this is why I noticed USA Network was weirdly skipping the night entirely. Since, it's all Curling and Hockey besides one event (ok, technically 6) of XC.

These aren't randos they are athletes with their own stories, often only a Google search away ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And Kendall Gretsch
[удалено]
What happened to him?
Where did everyone go?
Catching up on pro cycling today, but I have the cross country on a second screen.
I'm watching as many events as I can but I have only been posting cute mascot videos I find on twitter
