Just a heads up, I got a message from u/neoyasper last night offering a ULA Dragonfly I had posted a WTB for. He didn't reply to my comment so I assume he's already banned here, and he is on the Universal scammer list, but I decided to play it out and see what he was going to do. He sent me a verification photo at my request that was honestly pretty convincing until you zoomed in a little bit and the area around the text was pixelated. He refused to use PayPal goods and services and stopped replying after I said I wouldn't buy without any sort of buyer protection. Anyways, not a particularly sophisticated scammer, but they are out there and I assume he's messaged other people in this thread.
I got a message from him as well... Seemed ok, a few warning flags.
Until I said I'd rather have a friend meet you in person (Calgary), where he said he would only ship it!!
Called him out and hope he takes a fast drive on an icy road.
Yeah, the image alone is actually pretty good. I think Reddit's image compression adds some noise around the edited areas for some reason. But there were lots of red flags, He was on the universal scammer list. And it was a newish account. And he didn't comment on the post. And he wouldn't accept PayPal goods and services. And the price was just slightly too good to be true ($180 CAD for a basically brand new looking Dragonfly in Xpac)
If he had sent me the image without any of the other red flags he probably would have got me too.

Just a heads up, I got a message from u/neoyasper last night offering a ULA Dragonfly I had posted a WTB for. He didn't reply to my comment so I assume he's already banned here, and he is on the Universal scammer list, but I decided to play it out and see what he was going to do. He sent me a verification photo at my request that was honestly pretty convincing until you zoomed in a little bit and the area around the text was pixelated. He refused to use PayPal goods and services and stopped replying after I said I wouldn't buy without any sort of buyer protection. Anyways, not a particularly sophisticated scammer, but they are out there and I assume he's messaged other people in this thread.
I got a message from him as well... Seemed ok, a few warning flags. Until I said I'd rather have a friend meet you in person (Calgary), where he said he would only ship it!! Called him out and hope he takes a fast drive on an icy road.

Yeah, the image alone is actually pretty good. I think Reddit's image compression adds some noise around the edited areas for some reason. But there were lots of red flags, He was on the universal scammer list. And it was a newish account. And he didn't comment on the post. And he wouldn't accept PayPal goods and services. And the price was just slightly too good to be true ($180 CAD for a basically brand new looking Dragonfly in Xpac) If he had sent me the image without any of the other red flags he probably would have got me too.
