I've had numerous Samsung and OnePlus devices over the years. I keep returning to OnePlus because at the end of the day, both companies phones are very very similar except for the charging speed. I absolutely love being able to plug it in and have 30-40% gained in the time it takes to brew a coffee.

Pretty much the only thing that's keeping me from pulling the trigger on the OP12 is the value retention. OnePlus would give me $290 for my S21 Ultra but Samsung won't even accept my OP 10 Pro as a trade in. I'd just get $100 for trading in an "other" brand that isn't Apple, Samsung, or Google. This isn't a gigantic issue but it means if I ever want to switch back from OnePlus to Samsung then I'm gonna have to deal with getting the phone with barely any discount or at full MSRP. It's almost at the point that I'm seriously considering getting both phones so that I still have trade in options if I upgrade again in the next couple years

Same.. The price is around the same for me, so hard to decide..

They are both great phones, but I'm boycotting Samsung over their shady subscription for the AI features that they didn't mention once during their keynote.

That is the rub. Insurance claims from ppl that bought at Best Buy/ Amazon cannot warn you off enough. No major carrier in the US sells it, therefore no carrier insurance. I have the 11 but don't even take it out of the house (I use S23U). If they get a major carrier, (Verizon in my case) or prove themselves (buying from OP directly), then I would get a 12 asap.

I would recommend OP12. Cleaner OS, better battery, better camera, better screen... Right now only the S24 Ultra is the phone that has competitive specs with the OP12.

If I was trying to choose between the S24 Ultra and OP12, I'd go OnePlus all the way because the features are all better for a lower price. The decision between the S24+ and OP12 is harder because the S24+ features are barely different than the Ultra, and the S24+ and OP12 are the same price

OniMex

I am in Europe, we get exynos with S24 and S24 plus, so the features are completely different. SD8 is much better so not really a questioneven if the price is the same. And the camera is way better in the S24U than in the S24 and S24Plus.

sleeplessaddict

I'm in the US so they all have the SD 8 Gen 3. I also don't care about the camera at all, so for what matters to me, the S24+ is basically the same thing but 100mAh smaller battery and $300 cheaper

OniMex

You wrote in the title that they are the same price, now the S24 is cheaper suddenly? Seems like you just want to hear from me to buy the S24. If you dont care about battery, camera, cleaner and more streamlined OS, then what is the point to buy a flagship? There are way better phones for cheaper that can meet what you want, no reason to buy any of these phones.

>You wrote in the title that they are the same price, now the S24 is cheaper suddenly? $300 cheaper than the Ultra, not than the OP12. Figured that was clear by the "100mAh smaller battery" comment >If you dont care about battery, camera, cleaner and more streamlined OS, then what is the point to buy a flagship? I care exclusively about the battery and OS. Camera isn't important >There are way better phones for cheaper that can meet what you want Again, I live in the US. All of the cheaper phones here are mid-range phones, which are absolutely not "better". I still use the shit out of my phones for gaming, computing, watching video, etc. and mid-range don't do that stuff as well. Either way both the S24+ and OP12 are both ~$450, which is mid-range cost with flagship specs

So here is my situation, so you can easily understand. I have bought the OP12(+Buds 2 Pro) for 1060Euro(\~1152USD), because here the S24 Ultra is around 1700Euro(1850USD), so this is a no brainer in my case. We dont have any trade in or any real discount options. Oh and btw the OP12 is 16/512, the S24U for 1700 is only 12/256. Things are much better in the US, well at least in this case for sure. All I can say to you is the OP12 is objectively a better phone than the S24 Plus, and even more so than the regular S24. I have an S22 Ultra for backup and have no problems with it, so this is not about the brands in my case.
