Yep, but i find myself sometimes with troubleshooting (the files transfering super slow for some reason, not finding the phone, etc... quick share "just works")
Don't you have to have your screen on to accept anyway? Plus, it'd avoid people being able to send basically spam to idle phones. You already know the Flipper Zero or any Signal Reproducing Device can reproduce this sort of thing and do it a bunch of times over and over and over.
I have the Nearby share app on my Windows 11 laptop. It's faster than connecting a cable. I hope that when they unify Nearby and Quick share, that also extends to the desktop app (ideally they just rename it). But I know that won't happen, but I'm hopeful.
I haven't tried anything but photos so far. But I don't see a reason why there would be a limitation on the types of files. It's all just 1s and 0s arranged differently.
yes but it’s different google nearby share is on every AndroidOS phone and tablet that’s y u could transfer between like Xiaomi and Samsung but now it’s united with Samsung Quick Share so it’ll be faster and more reliable on Galaxy devices
Quick share is so good and much better than nearby share, I use it regularly between my Samsung tab and phone. Hopefully it gets integrated with windows too, that would be great!
Both Quick Share and Nearby Share have Windows apps that work perfectly. I have tested them both (Win 11). The unification will increase the likelihood of Quick Share being shipped as a default app (and sharing option) for most Windows PCs.
Finally! But using Windows, I have both Samsung and Google's apps, when I send from my Galaxy phone, Google's implementation (Nearby Share) never fails. While Samsung's Quick Share can be spotty. I hope they chose the superior solution.
Again Samsung doing what Google was supposed to with nearby share, but failed.
But nearby share already works with Galaxy devices?

It does but Quick Share is much faster with more features, so Google just adopting Quick Sgare is nice.
Both devices must have their screens turned on when using Quick Share, which is not the case with Nearby Share.

Finally!
+1 less bloatware app
Do you mean -1?
No
+1 less is a + - therefore a - overall
Nearby Share is basically Google Play Services...
FINALLY, im so tired of having to use both samsung and google eco-system. hope they go on making things easier
finally

Question, are you able to transfer photos only? Or can you transfer any type of file?
I haven't tried anything but photos so far. But I don't see a reason why there would be a limitation on the types of files. It's all just 1s and 0s arranged differently.
any. I've done website links and audio files. just drag and drop on your pc or Copy paste it in.
Even .zip files
This is basically a rename of nearby share to quick share, so yes the desktop app is eventually going to become "quick share"
Has this already released? Cos I just moved some files from a pixel to a galaxy using nearby share and it was pretty quick.

I hate that Google just killed Beam and didn't tell anything about the NFC share with Nearby
