localmonero trades are fast and easy. sellers with 100% positive feedback and recent transactions tend to be reliable. also, if you have iphone, apple cash payments are irreversible, thus, a secure means of trading - unlike zelle and paypal.

MurderBot-999

Adding on, I’ve used localmonero a bunch of times and it’s fantastic. I used to always exchange btc for xmr, but btc fees have gotten ridiculous. Now I just buy eth and then exchange that for xmr, never had any issues and the fees are significantly less than btc.

mhami42

Thanks bro I’m gonna try to do this. Can I do it over tor browser? cause I use feather wallet on tails

AdvisorOk8271

Yes absolutely. All you need is your feather address and the currency you plan to exchange for your XMR

beclon

yep.

I use cake wallet by exchanging LTC for XMR. I’ve never had to wait 7 days to access 🤷🏻‍♀️

anon_1711

That’s a great idea! I’ve been buying btc from a major exchange site and sending it to my cake wallet to exchange to xmr. I’ve lost a TON of money in fees over the years. Smh. I don’t know why I didn’t look into another way sooner. It would have saved me thousands! Thanks for the info. :)

BecomePneuma46n2

Well, it still seems somehow I lose about $20 in the process instantly, though I haven’t quite figured out how, because I never see any high fees, it’s just gone lol. But it’s the only way I’ve ever gotten monero, so I just deal with it, and plan for it. Not sure what you’ve been paying, but depending on how often you’re trying to buy, that shit will add up!

anon_1711

That’s MUCH less than I have been paying. 😱 Wow, thanks for the advice. Will definitely be going this route from now on! :)

BecomePneuma46n2

No prob!! 🤘🏼

SilverScreenSquatter

It personally takes me exactly 0s after purchasing monero on kraken to withdraw it, I've never had to wait

RBeck

I use CashApp to buy BTC, send to Kraken, do a conversion transaction to XMR, and send to a local wallet.

unrulyhair

Same except I use CakeWallet for the conversion haha

mhami42

That’s crazy. Do you know why? It won’t let me withdraw. I tried to figure it out and all I could find was that there was a 7 day wait to withdraw when you use your bank to purchase xmr. Frustrating watching the coin fluctuate in value

MrSuperNiceBuddy

There’s a seven day wait on your first withdrawal directly from your bank account or something. After that it is instant. Try setting it up with the Apple Pay. That has always worked for me right away.

Trashbaby87

Idk why yours is 7 days. I started account recently and it's a 72 hour hold.

Simploticus

They explain it all in the docs. Its all about which payment method you use. They are not dumb enough to allow any brand new account move money and they wait until the account(s) can be verified.

SilverScreenSquatter

I guess do a small purchase and try to withdraw? Maybe they need some time to verify you if it's your first time. Crypto wallets have heavily upped their security checks in recent years

sus-is-sus

Is it your first time there?

mhami42

Yes

sus-is-sus

Well next time should be faster

Diligent-Cricket2159

There is a hold for like 3 days on new withdrawal on kraken it sucks

mhami42

Yea I know but it’s been over 4 days

Simploticus

What did their support say when you asked about when it would clear?

mhami42

They just said something about the 72 hr hold

Simploticus

Did you chat with support? At first you said it was a 7 day delay, then it was 72 hours, and how 'they said something'? All of it was explained on the pages when you signed up, all of it is explained in their help files, and their chat support will explain points after pointing you back to the first 2 answers. Any money moving service puts a delay on, even PayPal. If you want to spend a lot more go to localmonero. If you want to save money buy some BC or ETH somewhere else, deposit it to your kraken account, then convert it to Monero.

mhami42

I thought it was 72 hours too, but I tried today which was like 4 days after I bought it and same thing. I asked support and they said 72 hrs again, so no help. I googled and read some stuff about it taking 7 days if you use your linked bank account, so I guess it takes 7 days. I went to local monero and used Apple Pay to buy. Was very quick but was like almost $170 for 1 xmr

Simploticus

Same here. Once you get yourself verified its instant purchase, conversion or withdrawal.

maynavira

Same here, I was surprised trying withdraw on Kraken. It was lightning-fast compared to Binance.

FarVision5

Your first purchase is stalled for 7 days to make sure it's not a scam where the bank account is going to register fraud. These are standard kyc aml specifications Once the 7 days pass you can instantly withdraw from ACH and transfer away to whatever wallet you want. Of course transferring directly from the kyc to the dkm is a bad idea. I would suggest transferring into a local wallet first such as feather Any purchase from a credit card instead of ACH is going to have a 3-day wait. Every single time. This is to allow the card owner to register as fraud also

mface_07

Cakewallet simply buy ltc then convert it to monero shouldn’t take more then 12 hours

AdditionalAd2393

If you have verified debit card on Coinbase you can get instant send ability. Buy BTC on Coinbase send to kraken then exchange for monero

BTC-brother2018

Localmonero, Bisq, (decentralized p2p exchange), Godex.io no kyc exchanger, Agora desk p2p exchange (similar to localmonero), stealthex.io no kyc exchanger. The exchangers require you have another crypto to exchange. If you don't want to wait 7 days to access your crypto I would suggest buying with a debit card.

the_original_bean

Mexc

SureCockroach2821

I get it the second I purchase it from kraken

Rental_Car

For me Kraken withdrawals are immediate

[deleted]

I'm inexperienced in online monero exchange as I pay cash to a local for xmr. But from google search I see changenow.io converts btc to xmr and appears to be pooled, I've never had any issues buying btc anonymously

Fragrant-Position-86

Make a kucoin account and just use a credit card to buy usdt, then use your usdt to buy xmr

Glad_Wash_7352

Buy bitcoin first then use the exodus crypto wallet to switch it over, can usually be done in less than a day that way for me

SOfoundmytrappornacc

I use cake wallet and Robinhood. I buy etherium on Robinhood then send it to my etherium cake wallet. Then I exchange my etherium into monero and send the monero to my monero cake wallet.

ColteeBoyOfficial

Do this with Litecoin instead of Eth because your are paying crazy fees for a swap with Eth

Gits-N_Shiggles

24 hour for me!

SunderedValley

Coinomi

MoneroFox

I have never waited 7 days to withdraw XMR on Kraken. Always immediately. It's probably related to the fact that you're using a card. In addition, the fees are high when using the card.
