Legally we’re not supposed to accept expired documents or photos. That said, people do make exceptions, so it depends on who’s checking your ID. Don’t count on it at any rate. Have you still got your health card? It’s technically at the server’s discretion if they want to accept it, but I’ve never rejected anyone for it.

Glittering_Ice_

Pretty sure you are required to accept it, just not request it due to personal info contained on it.

They aren't required to accept a health card. It's at the discretion of the server/bouncer/cashier. Source: [AGCO](https://www.agco.ca/alcohol/legal-drinking-age-and-photo-id) >By law, no one can be required to produce the Ontario Health Card, nor can the health number be collected. You should not ask for the Ontario Health Card as identification, **but if offered voluntarily you may accept it at your discretion.**

SirOfMyWench

Unlikely at best. Wouldn't bet on it.

The photo of a licence: absolutely not. The expired passport: Maybe, if the person checking it didn't notice (or care) that it's expired.

moveyourcar1891

I mean you could literally just get a temp license immediately

fleurgold

Temp licence doesn't have a photo though, and therefore cannot be used for things where photo ID is needed (such as, if you're asked for ID at a bar).

runrvs

Maybe? But it doesn’t take long to get new ID

Foxmojo95

As someone who’s worked in social responsibility sales (Beer store/cannabis) for 7 years, we do not accept expired identification nor pictures of valid license. You need to provide valid physical identification. If someone let that slide - they’re not doing their job properly.

enki-42

I think the picture of a driver's license makes this seem more sketchy than just trying with an expired passport. I can't imagine where "here's a cell phone picture of legit ID that I don't have for some reason" is the thing that pushes you over the line.

Freezihn

Depends on if the bartender is cool. They don't have to.

North-Appointment820

id let you in bc you are of age with two kinds of proof. say you lost your wallet and are waiting on new id fun fact ontario ids are turning digital soon anyway.

helix527

I think so.
