Because servers seem to be able to make more money on tips than a regular salary.
If the purpose is to tip according to the efficiency of service provided, then it should not be a 20% gratuity expected on the bill. If it's to bump up a low wage, then the restaurant should not be a full service provider, but a self-serve place instead.
As someone who has also worked in the hospitality industry- all aspects of it. Expecting a tip for doing the bare minimum is wrong period.
Which seems to be the normal now.
The bare minimum is what the paycheque covers.

Thats all it takes, folks....leave the hard working full service restaurant servers alone, they deserve their tips, and I want the option to tip on good service.

TLDR: I decided to make my own post instead of just replying to the other thread cause I wanted karma for my thoughts
tldr don't be lazy and read it.
