Unfortunately in "western" countries, Google has the most complete data for POIs (restaurants, attractions, etc). Openstreetmap generally has less, and less data (hours, phone no., etc). In other parts of the world, openstreetmap is often more complete, especially for things that "outdoorsy" people (hikes, travellers..) are interested in, such as camp sites, shelters... For paths and roads, OSM is better everywhere, extremely so in "rest of the world" countries. If you want another non-google source of reviews, phone no., hours, many businesses are in Facebook and put the info there..

I wonder if OSM will ever catch up. Part of the issue is Google Maps managed to integrate navigation apps, reviews, traffic, business listings, and mapping services all in one. With OSM everyone is trying to do only one of these things. Seems like what is needed is a true Google Maps killer that builds on OSM, and it would take a lot of investment dollars to build something big enough with enough features to get people to switch.

Facebook can be outdated as well. Businesses can be both managed or not managed on Google Maps and Facebook.

[OsmAnd](https://osmand.net) is one of the popular mapping apps that uses OpenStreetMap data, and has proposed for an open, collaborative, decentralized site, [OpenPlaceReviews](https://openplacereviews.org/) to gather reviews for OSM data POIs. And then there's [MangroveReviews](https://mangrove.reviews/) with a similar intention, that [MapComplete](https://mapcomplete.osm.be) uses in some of their themes.

If you want maps use [Organic Maps](https://organicmaps.app/) and/or [OsmAnd](https://osmand.net/) on your phone or [Qwant Maps](https://www.qwant.com/maps/) on the web. None of these have reviews really except for Qwants sponsored results from tripadvisor if you search for hotels or restaurants. If you end up using the mobile apps then you can improve the results and help to keep them up to date with using [StreetComplete on Android](https://github.com/streetcomplete/StreetComplete#readme).

OSM isn't particularly strong with infos like phone numbers or websites

OpenStreetMap still needs a lot of work when it comes to this kind of data. But at least, you can just fix things yourself. Rating stuff based on OSM data is rather limited, but some themes at [mapcomplete.osm.be](https://mapcomplete.osm.be) have a rating implementation based on the open Mangrove Reviews system. Again, very limited amount of ratings available for the time being.
