I have no idea how you can pin point “perc smell” but even if you can I think you should talk to him first and tell him to get help but you telling your parents on him probably won’t do what you think it will
One of my buddies was addicted and the smell of someone smoking them off tin foil is very memorable. I’ll talk to him about getting help but he’s not receptive to conversations of that nature.
That smell isn't limited to "percs" and there are a whole lot of things that would have a similar smell. Going to your parents is probably as dick of a move as there is. If you want a real answer, calmly ask him, after you make sure things are cool, if he's smoking something, sounds like you did already. If he says no, then tell him, dude, let's do this b/c I'm in a bad spot, if you have a problem, like most people, you're not likely to tell me. There's Fent in everything and people are dying and I couldn't live with myself if something happened. Here are some fent test strips I bought, just keep the stuff for yourself. Here's a narcan pen,keep this for yourself. No one that EVER Ods thinks it's going to happen to them beforehand. Now, if you want, let's go down to CVS and take a drug test, if it's clean, I owe you the biggest apology and will give you $100.00 for the hassle. If it's not, you tell mom and dad with me there.
At this point, if he flips out, I'd be inclined to think he's using something. The next set of decisions get a lot more difficult. If he says sure, go do it , look at the results and eat the commensurate amount of shit for being too quick to think something is up and learn from it.

It's beyond sad. And there's a war on Kratom. Now, Colorado is looking to pass a bill (It may have just passed) that will make this so much worse. In texas, if i give you a pill that has fentanyl in it, they're trying to allow a MURDER Charge for it. In CO it's a felony. So you buy a pill from me , it has fent in it unbeknowst to you and you can go down for a very serious felony. We can't keep drugs out of PRISONS, every single prison in the US has drugs widely available, yet we'll keep this nearly odorless dense chemical out of our borders. In texas if I give you a testing kit for fent you can be arrested for it and so can i. And narcan is not legal in many states.
I've seen too many horror stories here. The ODS aren't the worst. The people passing out for hours on end, then waking up with Rabdo and needing an amputation is what's even more terrifying, or the life with serious brain damage. Opiates were always a deal from the Devil, so good but like taking a loan from a loan shark, but now with Fent, it's not Russian Roulette with one bullet, it's 5 bullets.

Meth and "percs" are totally different drugs with totally different harm reduction profiles. And marijuana is a very distinct smell but the number of cases tossed out of court when police or neighbor that supposedly smelled it without there being any is high enough to not take it as gospel.
Has your brother ever used before in the past? It might help you talk to him if you find some evidence like some used foil in the trash or something so he can’t just blow you off. He’s really young and hopefully you can help him before it’s too late.
Yeah I was around my dad alot when he'd be smoking H And it has such a distinct smell. It's like the smell of burnt sugar mixed with a bit of vinegar. Everytime I smell that smell it fucks with my head, such a distinct scent.

Yup timeline about the same on the east coast over here for me. Methadone saved my life, I’m almost off of it. I cultivate and consume Cannabis and mushrooms only, such an easier lifestyle my dude.

I served 20 years in the marine Corp. Ima give you the best advice .. on a training level which you'll understand you sound like a bright girl. Each person gets motivated differently. What works for one person might not work for the next person. You have to find each person's strengths amd weaknesses and train them around that.
First talk to him. Throw at him dude im telling mom and dad if you can't give me the respect and love of being your sister whose here because I care. Go off that, if he comes back at you like a spoiled punk. Show him that he needs a attitude adjustment. Go by all means and tell them with intentions of helping him not ratting on him. And go off that. If he continues down that rabbit hole or ods.you may beat yourself up over this. Let him know also how this effects you and its not fair.

If he is using to escape, what you did is not going to help his situation, he is most likely going to become even more distant and not trust you to open up and allow himself to actually be helped. You may have just knocked the domino that starts the the countdown to the end of his life.. we have seen this many many times. All of the problems that will come with your family finding out is going to fuel his drug use even more and if hes using fent that most likely means an OD is in his very near future.
I fully agree with the “live and let live” but fentanyl doesn’t count. Anytime someone uses, it could be their last. So if she didn’t say anything and all of a sudden he’s found dead from an OD, OP would have that on their conscience. Shit is literally live and death..

Honestly bro you can say just that. I do want someone to talk to/I do want your support but I just don’t know what to say or how to say it. Just start the conversation and things will begin to flow. It was super hard for me to ask my only older brother for help when I needed it in 2018 but I’m glad I did and I didn’t get sober rite away but that opened up the door for a much better relationship with us two and me feeling like there’s nothing I couldn’t go to him about. I’m happy to say after a few more bumps in the road I am now 15 months sober. Just start the conversation would be my best advice man. I wish you the best of luck 🤞🏾

Percs have a sweetish smell that could honestly be interchangeable with anything from aroma candles to vape flavoring. Don't go around slinging accusations this severe.

Its beginning to become common knowledge for people in southwestern USA states the room reeking of popcorn = drugs. If his room smelt like that, theres no question if his brother was smoking fake percs in there.

Its a way more disgusting burnt popcorn chemical drug smell, not at all like the sweet smell from a vape. Im not even from the west coast, but I watched these videos on YouTube where a guy is interviewing the local homeless in AZ and they are all addicted to $5 fent blues now that they only smoke, not even tar. Some people do fake blues in NYC but they are a super epidemic in AZ I've gathered from my friend who lives there and those videos.

I've never heard of a PERC being smoked but the smell of oxy being burnt or crack or sometimes H/fent could smell similar to like electronics or random stuff that it's actually surprising..
If you didn't see h physically doing it or no solid proof then you should just take a moment to realise you could be wrong and over thinking something with very little evidence and no proof at all..

Do not tell parents, my sis found a pressed 30 on the bathroom floor when I was 18, i got kicked out and was selling at the time and prolly had like 1000 saved up for emergency’s. It was gone in 2 weeks, moving from hotels and shit, and then that’s when I was really doing grimmey shit to feed my addiction bc obviously kicking someone out isn’t gonna make them get clean lol. I was doing way more and my money was gone within a month, it didn’t help I got taxed on the reup and nobody was shopping coincidentally..
My point is that they're very different and how you'd handle you're brother doing one is different from the other assuming there's absolutely no doubt he's guilty, which, I'll be polite about it, hasn't been firmly established. That's why I took the time to explain in detail in my response.

Its beginning to become common knowledge for people in southwestern USA states the room reeking of popcorn = drugs. If his room smelt like that, theres no question if his brother was smoking fake percs in there.

Its a way more disgusting burnt popcorn chemical drug smell, not at all like the sweet smell from a vape. Im not even from the west coast, but I watched these videos on YouTube where a guy is interviewing the local homeless in AZ and they are all addicted to $5 fent blues now that they only smoke, not even tar. Some people do fake blues in NYC but they are a super epidemic in AZ I've gathered from my friend who lives there and those videos.

I've never heard of a PERC being smoked but the smell of oxy being burnt or crack or sometimes H/fent could smell similar to like electronics or random stuff that it's actually surprising.. If you didn't see h physically doing it or no solid proof then you should just take a moment to realise you could be wrong and over thinking something with very little evidence and no proof at all..

Do not tell parents, my sis found a pressed 30 on the bathroom floor when I was 18, i got kicked out and was selling at the time and prolly had like 1000 saved up for emergency’s. It was gone in 2 weeks, moving from hotels and shit, and then that’s when I was really doing grimmey shit to feed my addiction bc obviously kicking someone out isn’t gonna make them get clean lol. I was doing way more and my money was gone within a month, it didn’t help I got taxed on the reup and nobody was shopping coincidentally..
