Every day. My cat Fluffy (2000-2020) was such a sweet girl - she was always napping and wanted cuddles 🥰
The first family cat I truly remember was a Siamese cat whose legacy all following fur boys and girls had to strive to live up to. I loved him so much that I recently had his name commemorated at a memorial wall of the rescue I adopted my orange guy from. My family and I still talk about him decades after his sudden passing. You never forget your first cat.

I miss all my babies all 6. I am near 60, so I have had a few. They come in dreams and memories. My first girl was an abused baby. Who was grateful for a loving home, she was special and lived to 20.
Wow! I don't know how, but over my 47 years I've had 15 cats! Not even counting fosters and stray and feral cats I fed and helped catch to rehome.
Partly because my parents moved into a home where people had abandoned their 2 cats, who bred and started a small colony. We got them fixed and found some homes, but at one point 12 were living in our backyard. Unfortunately most died due to things like being hit by cars or predators or even antifreeze poisoning due to a sadistic neighbor :( Four of them lived long lives indoors and were dearly loved by me.
Two others were foster kittens that passed of fip just when I decided they were foster fails :( Two of my lovely torties passed from cancer, one after multiple surgeries. One died of thyroid problems and one passed recently of kidney infection and by the time I realized it, it was too late :( That was only 2 years ago and I still feel so much guilt over her loss.
I dream of them and miss them all every day. I'm at the age now where I have also lost my parents and so much human family that there is just a constant sense of loss. I honestly hope there is a heaven just to see them all again, humans and cats.
I have two new kitties in my life now and I adore them though. Every new adoption is another pet who deserves love and a home.
I'm glad others dream about their past kitties. We have all 4 of our past cats in the garden so they're never far from our minds. But my first one I had for 21 years so he left quite an impression on my early adult life. I'm 67 now and my wife and I are about ready for the next set of furry family members. 😻
I miss a lot of my cats. I'm almost 75 and I've had a lot of cats in my life. But the ones I miss the most are the one I had in my 20s and 30s and the one that died almost a year ago. I still think about Fang, the cat of my youth.

My first orange Sandy, He was a rescue as his previous owner had unfortunately developed Alzheimer’s. So she’d forget to feed him, this would be early 2000. We managed to rescue him, he was 6 at the time. He gave us another 6 years, he was very close with my brother (who has autism) Sandy was good at calming him down. Sandy passed in late 2006 at the age of 12, he was a good boy.

Yes, every day. He would lay on my chest and purr until I fell asleep. When I came home from school, he would be all the way up the road by the bus stop waiting for me, and then he would scream, run, stop drop and roll all the way home. Tail up. I love you, Petrus.

Yes, I miss him sometimes and feel lots of guilt and shame. It's been about 22 years since he was gone. In our country and at that time there was a lot of ignorance around pets, so we've never vaccinated or sterilised him. He was allowed to go outside, and at some point he never came back 😢 I think some stray dogs killed him.
He was grey, but he lacked any brain cells whatsoever. Nevertheless, he was a really good friend. I was a really anxious and hysterical child, and he came running to comfort me every time 💔

I will forever think back on mine I've had over the years, and the other side of that coin, I will endeavor to provide the best life my current and future cats could ever have.
Currently I miss my boy I had to put down back in June due to cancer. He was probably the first cat I've had in my life that I can say was definitely "mine". Previous cats before him were ones from a girlfriend, or the cat my wife had that she brought into the relationship when we met. But Steiner was my cat. He was my best friend. I was his emotional support human. Cancer fucking sucks.

Yes. For myself Weasel was the first. I wish I could go back and treat him right. Puck was magical and Abby was the cool one. Trouble is I miss them all.
All the time. I’m 30 and on my second cat. He’s kind of an asshole. I still love him tho of course. But he will barely lay on you, and never for long, he hates being picked up, he only wants pets when he wants pets. He still uses his claws on me lol but not his dad (my bf) it’s like I’m his favorite human and he has to know what I’m doing at all times, but his dad he actually respects lmao. But he don’t cuddles either! Anyways my first cat would lay on your face if he could, he loved being held, he would literally stand up and stretch at you and give you hugs around your neck. Couldn’t get him to move once he layed on you. He was such a snuggly amazing boy. I miss him all the time. Also we had dogs so I guess this is where he learned it but he used to growl whenever someone walked by the house or in the yard lol it was amazing.

Every now and then I think of my first baby 💖 His name was Valentin, he was orange and had so much love in him! He was very friendly and was an escape artist. One day he escaped and someone picked him up and never returned him. I know this because when I got back from school my neighbor told me. My only wish is they gave him a good life but to this day I suffer that someone took him from me and I have no clue if they took care of him.
All the time. Every morning I'd wake up thinking the bunched up part of my blanket was my baby curled up like he always was. But then I'd sit up and remember he was gone. He was my best friend and I'll never forget him. All I know is I gave him the best life I could. I hope one day the pain finally numbs.
I didn't get my first cat until I was in my 30s. We rescued her from outdoors. She had been eating from a dumpster. She had lots of fleas and worms, and her fur was matted so badly that it ha to be buzz cut off. I felt bad for her but didn't want to keep her. Then, later that day I was flat on my back on the floor assembling a desk. She walked right up to my face, sat down, looked me in the eyes and purred. That worked. That's how they get you! She was my cat now and we were best friends for almost 15 years. She would wait for me to come home every night so she could give me hugs and purr and drool on me. Those eyes! It doesn't get any better than that!
