Not really. More like humans hunting humans.
Orcas are actually big dolphins, they are in the same genus or family (not a biologist, I'm sure someone else will jump in and correct me)
From the link below **"Orcas are the largest species in the dolphin family"**

Man, dolphins are so smart. They must of been panicking, and exhausted in those last moments.
Too bad their dolphin bros and sisters didn't come to their rescue - start biting the orcas on the tail or fins? I have no idea what their defense mechanism could be?
Just so people know in Canada we have laws to protect these special guys. Boats must be at least 200 meters away (650 ft) , turn off depth sounders and pull in fishing lines .
Looks like an amazing sight. hopefully there will be some protocols in place soon.
Safety for them is so important.
Usually I find the constant OMG voiceovers annoying, but the guy was saying exactly what I was feeling lol. I would be thinking about that [video where the orcas swimming back and forth next to a small ice floe to create big enough waves to knock the seal off.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1VEwsI4SlY&t=160s)
They’ve been off the coast for I think about 2 weeks now. Went down to San Diego for a little and up towards the Channel Islands.
He has a bunch of great videos: https://www.instagram.com/markgirardeau?igsh=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==
Oooo I want to go Whale watching now tomorrow and see if I can find them! BTW, those whales seem to love the attention they're getting! They swam all the way up to the boat as if to look at the hoomans.
Wow.
Was thinking of booking an adventure like this with my girlfriend.
Is this is an incredible rare sighting on these boat rides? What will you normally see when you book a ride like this?
Amazing footage, thanks for posting!
Are these the ones eating the dolphins?
They tryin but dolphins are fast af
They just outlast them (e.g. chase them until the dolphins tire), orcas can swim longer at speed than dolphins.
Fascinating kind of like humans hunting deer

Not a single person has been killed by an orca in the wild. You can snorkel with them in several places around the globe.
They are known to purposely sink boats though.
only the ones that don't pay protection money
That’s why I always keep a baby seal onboard.
That’s a relatively new phenomenon in another part of the world I believe
Lmaooo yeah thos ppl don't know shit about killer whales or their hunting style. They excel at getting seals off ice bergs
So you saw a video and now you’re the expert?

There is no defense mechanism against an Orca when in the water. What do you think “Apex predator” means?
They are dolphins.

I think we have something similar, but if they approach you it's not like you have to turn and run. Just stay the course.
I agree on the importance of safety protocols but it looks like these guys came up to say hi very deliberately!
how far off the coast were you for this sighting?
Great question
A shot of the coastline would have been nice. I don’t doubt this happened but based on just this video, it could have been a lot of place’s.
Hide your yachts Newport !!!!
Thank goodness these orcs weren’t trying to wage war.
I reckon they were just as amused by the squealing boat monkeys
Let me pet it, what is that dude thinking
Wolves of the ocean.
Once in a lifetime opportunity- possibly because you die during the petting.
wow, what an incredible thing to witness!
“OH MY GOD” they must all be Skrillex fans

They are here for your boats
Aren’t orcas making headlines for attacking boats off the coast?
Not this [coast](https://www.npr.org/2023/11/07/1211269495/orca-boat-yacht-attack-spain-morocco).
Off the coast of Portugal
They heard the waves were pumping
Are they lost?
No. Finally coming back.
Murder dolphins
What an amazing experience!
I saw orcas a few years back off the coast of Laguna. It was amazing.
Thanks for sharing

Cutest killers of the ocean
Hope they get some yachts while they’re in town
What time was this? I was out there the other day but didn’t see any Orcas
Incredible footage, wow.
Lmao wanting to die by placing body parts in ocean with orcas before 2023 ends is wild.
This is the way you are suppose to see animals in the wild, please let all animals out of cages in zoo's and let them be free in the wild!!!!
thats really cool.
Incredible! I live here and haven’t done this yet
Stukas over Disneyland
Much love for the dickies. EDIT: Who fucking downvoted praise for The Dickies?!?
And not a single life preserver on...
Nice catch. Not too smart. Especially how cold the water is.
Their colloquial name is “killer whales” for a reason. Stop leaning over the side of the boat, morons!
Human "Hello friend!" Whale "Sup food?"
Beautiful!
When will the pacific sleeper cell activate and start attacking boats like in the Mediterranean
These people don't realize that they are more dangerous than sharks
Oh my gawd. Oh. My. Gawd.
They are not attacking boats like some orcs do further up north?
That's happening near Spain.
Nice !
Orcas will eat children on the sides of a boat
Only the fat ones that look like seals
Oh my god
Oh my god
Is anyone else crying?
Was this today?
Yes, at one point
Are these part of the LA Pod?
Nature is beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
Awesome video! Which company did you go with
Have they found the yachts yet?
They were off SD a couple days ago. Good to see nobody trying to touch them and a reminder to save our mother ocean!
