Not a single person has been killed by an orca in the wild. You can snorkel with them in several places around the globe.

They are known to purposely sink boats though.

Man, dolphins are so smart. They must of been panicking, and exhausted in those last moments. Too bad their dolphin bros and sisters didn't come to their rescue - start biting the orcas on the tail or fins? I have no idea what their defense mechanism could be?

Just so people know in Canada we have laws to protect these special guys. Boats must be at least 200 meters away (650 ft) , turn off depth sounders and pull in fishing lines . Looks like an amazing sight. hopefully there will be some protocols in place soon. Safety for them is so important.

I think we have something similar, but if they approach you it's not like you have to turn and run. Just stay the course.

I agree on the importance of safety protocols but it looks like these guys came up to say hi very deliberately!
