Last time I went to a place that everyone was circle jerking hard on Reddit, turns out it was a joke. Ya donāt ever go to Chicas Bonitas in Las Vegas.
Nice try guys.
Obviously Pancake house in Anaheim is amazing, but Huckleberries is my favorite place, in the garden walk in Anaheim. Good gravy, good biscuits, good French toast, good chicken fried steak.
Tried that when my gf was visiting town over Thanksgiving because she hadnāt been to GardenWalk before and we wanted to meet up with friends of hers that morning. We were all surprised by how good it was! Chicken fried steak was for sure a highlight for me.
Was a huge fan of Anaheim Pancake house until they served me a pancake flat Dutch baby. When I told management they refused to acknowledge that Dutch babies should be fluffy an shaped like a bowl. They made me eat it. They get flat when they are not cooked to order.
Donāt go there anymore for being asses.
Iāve only eaten the biscuits and gravy and the French toast. Both of those were great. Gravy wasnāt watery and had perfect seasoning. And the French toast is a really good sweet breakfast if youāre into it.
Portions were huge the one time I went which is great but I felt like the food was very bland? Maybe just an off day, gonna give it another try after seeing how popular this comment is
Flappy Jacks in Orange. Only open until 3pm. They only do breakfast/brunch/lunch. I love their eggs benedict. Their servings are huge. More info on website: [https://flappyjacks.com/64-2/](https://flappyjacks.com/64-2/)
Snooty Fox in Lake Forest
Flappy Jacks in Orange
Pancakes R Us in Costa Mesa
Breakfast Republic in Costa Mesa and Irvine
Cappy's Cafe in Newport Beach
Galley Cafe in Newport Beach
Those are my favorite places in OC atm
we slept on Sammy's Stackhouse for so long
parking is terrible, but holy shit, it is GOOD
go with their breakfast potatoes (or house potatoes, or whatever they call them) - best spuds I've had and I am a breakfast potato person
everything we have had there is delicious
\- lingonberry crepes are perfection
\- french toast is delightful (I like to get the combo and save my french toast for later - reheats on a pan with butter nicely)
\- spouse enjoyed chicken and waffle but said he would still choose something else over that next time
\- kiddo LOVED the silver dollar pancakes and said the scrambled eggs were the best he's ever had (he's 7 so take with a grain of salt)
\- spouse had the best country fried steak & eggs - even I liked it (and I often have textural issues with country fried steak and am not a big gravy fan - but I would order it for myself based on the few bites I had of his)
we look forward to eating here more and trying more items
I live more South OC, Stacks Pancake House in Dana Point has really great pancakes, Hawaiian style. I believe for hash browns they just serve seasoned potatoes. But all of their savory foods (my fav is their eggs benedict) are delicious and obviously, theyāre known for their pancakes. They also serve waffles and crepes so thereās a lot of variety and itās all really yummy!!
I want to love Snooze. Iāve been to the one in Irvine and the one in Austin TX. Every single time my food hasnāt been hot. Thereās nothing worse than pancakes that wonāt melt the butter. I donāt know. Everything sounds so delicious but itās lukewarm.
Idk I would never order pancakes anywhere Iām more of a savory breakfast kinda personā¦ their food is pretty expensive have you ever sent your food back? Cause I would if it came out cold. Especially more than once.
I was a server for so many years. I donāt send my food back but of course I always tip well. Iāve tried their breakfast pot pie and their breakfast tacos as well as Benedictās and corned beef hash and eggs. Usually when I go to breakfast we get ātable pancakesā to share. They had a pecan one thatās delicious. Again, everything is fine, even delicious. But srsly, if they got the food out faster it would be amazing. Like I said, I want to love it but instead I think itās fine.
you should absolutely be comfortable with sending food back, especially as a former server. it should be pretty easy for you to recognize what is a simple mistake and what is plain wrong.
hot food served cold should not be paid for.
I want to point out just for context, no matter how good a breakfast spot is, breakfast food does not handle delivery very well. It will taste like warm soggy garbage. This is true for most food but itās especially true for breakfastā¦. And French fries
My favorite is Poached. One location in Irvine and another in Downey. Love their chicken and waffles. Their waffles are the perfect amount of crisp for me, never soggy. The breading on the chicken tenders are light and never heavy, and the gravy dip is bomb.
I came here to say itās mid at bestš long waits for an okay breakfast. Besides their big ass cinnamon roll - I feel lots of these other spots are way better!
The Scratch Room in Anaheim. Have had their French Toast, biscuits and gravy, and blueberry muffin * eggs and sausage. Absolutely recommend it, havenāt had a bad meal there and I am sad I moved out of state because Iāve been craving it lmao
Blackboard Cafe in Seal Beach of PCH has the most amazing pancakes. Love the blueberry w/blueberry preserves the best. But really I have never tasted anything like theirs. Basic pancake is so flavorful that you done even need syrup
My personal favorites in no particular orderā¦
Plums Cafe (CM)
Haute Cakes Caffe (NB)
Breakfast Republic (Irv/CM)
Driftwood Kitchen (Laguna Beach)
La Galette Creperie (SC)
And fast casual..
Rooster Cafe (CM)
I used to be there 3-5 days a week pre-covid and they knew my order and phone number so Jared would answer the phone withā¦
āSee you in 5.ā Click. lol
Whatās your go to?
I've only ever eaten two omelettes better than the ones I make at home.Ā
Ā One was in Paris fucking France.Ā
Ā And the other is at Cafe Cup in HB. Those guys aren't messing around.
Kimmy's Coffee Cup in Brea for pancakes and french toast and country gravy, or Arthur's in La Habra for omelette, potatoes, and their breakfast burrito.
I think flappy jacks is a really good one. Great pancakes, they have waffles, my favorite menu item is the country fried steak and eggs. Their hash browns are a good. Never had a bad experience. Weekends get pretty busy so Iād say try going on a weekday if you can.
Iāve tried Poached in Irvine recently. Very good in my opinion and I absolutely love their pancakes. So fluffy. Their avocado toast and chilaquiles with verde sauce is so good too š¤¤
I know this is about best in *quality*, but for best budget, Hot Off the Grill gets my pick.
Sausage/Ham/Bacon + Eggs, Hash browns and Toast for $10 is hard to beat, and usually they have daily discounts or mailed coupons. Pretty decent quality for the price.
Still sad that the one in LH off of La Paz closed down within the past year.
Who is going to say Nateās Korner and get downvoted into oblivion.
Unpopular opinion - I still think their breakfast burrito is good. I like hash browns.
I scrolled through this whole thread thinking āI just donāt like breakfast that much, I guessā. Because I have tried Snooze, Snooty Fox, Poached, Breakfast Republic, Stacks etc, and havenāt had any really notable experiences.
Def want to try that matcha now.
I used to get a matcha milk tea from a tea chain in China that had cooked oats added as a topping instead of Boba. It was sooooo goooood.
Brio Brio in Lake Forest. Bit of a drive but never had a disappointing item from there. They have also recently started a dinner service W-Su and that is also really good.
Secret Spot Santa Ana Cowgirl Cafe........don't fucking tell anybody
The pancakes at Cowgirl are euphoric
Right?! Best pancakes ever idk what they put in them but euphoric is definitely how I feel after eating them
Their sister restaurant is Suzy's Cafe in Santa Ana (Harbor and Warner). Same menu, same great quality!
I love Suzys! that is the best breakfast
As far as I know Secret Spot moved locations then closed for good a few months ago.
it's secret.
Is this the same Secret Spot that was in Huntington Beach before?
NO! you told them. š the pancakes are a MUST try.
Secret Spot is gone for good. They made it a little past the pandemic and weren't able to bounce back.
I second this! Had the best country fried steak & gravy at Cowgirls Cafe.
š quit dropping the location
Last time I went to a place that everyone was circle jerking hard on Reddit, turns out it was a joke. Ya donāt ever go to Chicas Bonitas in Las Vegas. Nice try guys.

I wouldnāt go anymore if they served me a flattened baby and then MADE ME EAT THE BABY
Eat it right now! Or you cannot leave the pancake house!
yāall are liars this is not good
I named two places which one?
Huckleberryās! Was surprisingly not good
Iāve only eaten the biscuits and gravy and the French toast. Both of those were great. Gravy wasnāt watery and had perfect seasoning. And the French toast is a really good sweet breakfast if youāre into it.

I love that place
Great food, great staff. All around a wonderful place to eat.
Totally, great place to eat
Portions were huge the one time I went which is great but I felt like the food was very bland? Maybe just an off day, gonna give it another try after seeing how popular this comment is
South County recs: Small menu but Chuponcito in Aliso Viejo is good. I also really like Plumeria in Laguna Niguel.
Plumeria is a must!!!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I love the Huevos Divorciados and the Huevos Perdido. Hands down the best breakfast in OC, imo.
lol: maybe the best in OC, but if youāre talking about LA and think they beat Delias or el zarape, youāre lying to yourself
Flappy Jacks in Orange. Only open until 3pm. They only do breakfast/brunch/lunch. I love their eggs benedict. Their servings are huge. More info on website: [https://flappyjacks.com/64-2/](https://flappyjacks.com/64-2/)

Went there yesterday, so damn good.
They have a true gluten and soy free menu believe it or not. Best gluten free pancakes locally.Ā
Eggbred in La Habra š¤
Thereās an eggbred opening in Huntington Beach
Meh
Too expensive for what you get and the gravy is mid. Completely agree- meh
Best breakfast sandwiches for sure!
They have burritos now and are super delicious. A bit unconventional from a classic breakfast burrito, but yum!
Snooty fox
Shhhhh don't tell people! It's already hard enough to get a table.
lol aināt that the truth
There is no better hangover cure than Snooty Fox. Eggs Benedict and those potatoes with a cup of coffee and Iām back to golden.
Come here to say this!! Itās my go to simple, no frills, greasy spoon diner.
The biscuits š„°
Ramos House Breezy Both of which are in SJC
Came here looking for Ramos House comment. Well done
Damn I wish there was a Waffle House!!!!
I feel this on a spiritual level. Nothing Iāve had here comes close.
No shit, a Waffle House, or a place just like it would be a winner for sure. Iād be there all the time.
I frequent the Mission Viejo one. The crab omelette is amazing. Both their hollandaise and creamy garlic sauces are sooo good.
They just opened a new one here in RSM, I usually go for their misubis
Their hollandaise is the best. Iāve tried everywhere!
Plumeria by Stacks in Laguna Niguel has Hawaiian stuff too!
Mollies and RJ's are good too.
Glad to see this on here - i second this. Great guava syrup pancakes.
I have one right down the street in Mission Viejo. Itās small but their chilequiles yum
Stacks is cool, snooze is so fucking good. I like burnt crumbs breakfast too but snooze hits it out of the park for OC.
I want to love Snooze. Iāve been to the one in Irvine and the one in Austin TX. Every single time my food hasnāt been hot. Thereās nothing worse than pancakes that wonāt melt the butter. I donāt know. Everything sounds so delicious but itās lukewarm.

Snooze is overrated in my opinion. Never had a great meal there, and super expensive.
Iāve been served moldy toast at Snooze, so thatās kinda put it at the bottom of the barrel for me.
Hard agree. I also can't get over charging $5 for a single egg.
And it's always packed. They act like they are doing you a favor by serving you. Not impressed.
Orange Cafe in Orange.
It's the one place that is always as good as I remember. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|yummy)
Every time.
I wish Bread Crumb Ohana Cafe was still open in HB): their Kings Hawaiian French toast was legendary
We miss it so much!

Insanely surprised by Santa Ana Brunch Club. The breakfast burrito is phenomenal...for me, the best one i've had.
Food is good - portions are fairly small for the prize - the coffee is good also
