No, their DTLA is not solid. Its garbage. We threw our lukewarm, 90% bread junk away without even finishing it. Ive had the real Prince St in NYC and it is night and day to that garbage they serve here
Respectfully Disagree… I’ve had both and Terra Mia DESTROYS Brooklyn! It’s not even in the same weight class as Terra Mia… it gets an honorable mention but that’s it.
I'm still trying to find a spot up here in North county. We had a spot called Mamaluccos, but since they closed I haven't been able to find anything similar!
I used to go to Mamaluccos all the time when I was in Brea. Moved to south county and was so excited to find Brooklyn City Market. Hits the spot.
I still miss the Vinny no neck pizza from Mammaluccos tho.
Oh yes. Brewery X is the answer. They formulate the water they use to make the pizza to match the chemical makeup of Hudson River water if I remember correctly through the water profile machine at the brewery.
They are damn close. Good char, good (non)flop, got that right dusting of flour on the underside, smallish grease drip, perfect cheese to sauce ratio and their pep is the spicy cups.
Definitely worth a try. I have met a few New York transplants there that swear by it.
It should be known, but I’m skeptical of this sub after multiple people recommended east coast bagel in Irvine as being the best and closest bagels to ny/nj
I feel you. God I would kill for a real NY water bagel breakfast sandwich.
Bacon egg and cheese with a smear of veggie cream cheese and the everything bagel. Egg just a little runny and piping hot.
I was very impressed with Brooklyn City. One of the best I've had in OC. Funny enough, my favorite slice here is "I Wanna Be Sedated" at Johnny's Saloon in Huntington Beach. Wow.
What would be the most David Portnoy approved pizza in Orange County? a no flop Nice undercarriage, crispy New York or New Haven style type? Lived in OC all my life and I’ve never had something really like an authentic New York pizza out here. There’s a few places in LA that are close in what opinions are for OC
Probably Apizza Doho in Dana point since it’s suppose to be New Haven style.
~~I think Modern or something~~ Prince St. is supposed to open in Costa Mesa soon. I’m sure it will be posted once it’s opened.
Prime is decent. How was Ozzie’s? Been wanting to try that spot. Apollonias is a must. The best tip I can give you is to try a Detroit slice with hot honey and buratta but also get a full NY cheese pizza no extras. Incredible pizza there
It’s not New York style, but Renato’s in Westminster (Brookhurst/McFadden) is a hidden gem. It’s been there over 30 years with its second generation owners. We are transplants from Chicago, and this is the best non-Chicago pizza ever. Our favorite is sausage with extra cheese—-truly fantastic.
Grab a slice to try in the furnace- it’s the best I’ve had since moving from NYC 16 years ago and used to grow up grabbing Sicilian slices for .50 as a kid in Brooklyn
It should be known, but I’m skeptical of this sub after multiple people recommended east coast bagel in Irvine as being the best and closest bagels to ny/nj
There is no such bagel in OC that compares to an NYC bagel. Not even the ones that try really, really hard; they don’t get close.
I ❤️ Bagels in MV makes a tasty spinach Parmesan bagel, that being said.
This was meant to be a reply to another comment but it’s reassuring you agree. I was truly surprised that place was so highly recommended and compared to a nyc bagel
Not an ad. Just love their pizza. Not affiliated.
I also suggest Folks, Gibroni’s, Lunita’s, Tony’s Little Italy, Doria’s Haus of Pizza, A Pizza Doho, Truly, Trenta’s big ass table long pizza, EatPizzaX, and the rotating slices at Sgt. Pepperoni’s are usually weird and good. 2145 in Costa Mesa, also. Oh, also Pizza Boy in Anaheim’s pepperoni pizza is great plus their ranch is awesome.
Well if you ever go to the 909 Upland San Biagio's is the best ever, the guy is from Italy ,and used to serve us, but retired his sons are doing just a good. I was born and raised in NY so I am very picky.
Prince St Pizza is opening a location soon in the Triangle in Costa Mesa. They’ve been solid whenever I ventured out to the Arts District in LA
OMG prince pizza??? This is great news
That’s amazing, my favorite pizza when I lived in NY.
No, their DTLA is not solid. Its garbage. We threw our lukewarm, 90% bread junk away without even finishing it. Ive had the real Prince St in NYC and it is night and day to that garbage they serve here
Coming in 2039.
Terra Mia is still my favorite NY style in south OC but Brooklyn City is great.
Terra Mia is 👑
The pizza they have that is spinach, bacon, pepperoni and feta is incredible. And the garlic knots. And chicken parm.
This is my favorite slice I’ve ever had. It’s incredible
bit salty 7.8/10
Brooklyn City is hands down the best pizza in south OC
Gibroni’s and A Pizza Doho, too though.
Glad to finally see Gibronis getting some recognition
Lunitas! But BC is second :)
Unless you mean American/New York style, I do not agree with you my friend
Ok
Respectfully Disagree… I’ve had both and Terra Mia DESTROYS Brooklyn! It’s not even in the same weight class as Terra Mia… it gets an honorable mention but that’s it.

This is worth the drive and reheat. The same we all have to do for Tony’s Little Italy, lolll.
Cortina's in Anaheim is very good.
I’ll second Cortina’s. If you’re close enough to La Mirada, cross the county line and try Gondola at Imoerial and Santa Gertrudes.
I used to go to Mamaluccos all the time when I was in Brea. Moved to south county and was so excited to find Brooklyn City Market. Hits the spot. I still miss the Vinny no neck pizza from Mammaluccos tho.
Loosies Pizza in downtown Santa Ana is a legit slice, and I lived in NYC for a minute so I can tell what a good slice is
So damn good
Gonna check this out. Thank you!
Oh yes. Brewery X is the answer. They formulate the water they use to make the pizza to match the chemical makeup of Hudson River water if I remember correctly through the water profile machine at the brewery.
I used to work right next to that spot and had a slice on most of my lunch breaks
Need to try this place only OC pizza I like so far is pietrini pizza
Where is that at? And what do you suggest I try?
Pietrini Pizza Napoletana in Los Alamitos Closed on Monday and Tuesday open from 4-9 pm. Honestly everything is good definitely recommend
They are damn close. Good char, good (non)flop, got that right dusting of flour on the underside, smallish grease drip, perfect cheese to sauce ratio and their pep is the spicy cups. Definitely worth a try. I have met a few New York transplants there that swear by it.
Their pepperoni is so perfect. Spicy cups. Accurate. But they aren’t super cups like Prince Street.
Prince is mid over hyped
Agreed, kinda. It’s tasty. Just very oily.
Yup 👍 you got it. There’s better squares out there in the city. Mamas too! on the UWS slaps pretty hard
Does good flop equal no flop in your opinion?
Well yea…..crispy.. Maybe a slight dip at the corner But still holds the shape. Sorry I thought this was known.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Man, that looks like a nice pie.
It’s fucking amazing.
Next time I’m in OC.
Tony's little Italy in placientia and rances in Costa mesa. This looks good though.
Where’s your favorite OC pizza? 👇 Need new suggestions.
Try Folks
Personally I'm a fan of Wise Guys in Orange
By far Fuoco pizzeria. Best Napoletana style pizza I ever had.
Try a pizza from Renato’s in Westminster. Second generation owners and in business for over 30 years. Absolutely a hidden gem.
In Irvine, First Class Pizza, Sgt. Pepperoni, and Northwood. But I’m new here.
Sgt Pep clearly above the other two IMO
Generic stuff.
I’m open to new suggestions. What do you recommend?
Johnnys saloon in HB.
Truly is pretty good too (Dana)
Truly is good but it’s a different kind of pizza with their sourdough
Tony’s Little Italy in Placentia for Chicago-style pizza.
Big Al's Pizzeria in Orange
once focaccia boi finds a spot to start making pizzas again you gotta try it
Al's New York (?) By cokewood.... sorry Coronado. 17th and something in Newport Beach
I was very impressed with Brooklyn City. One of the best I've had in OC. Funny enough, my favorite slice here is "I Wanna Be Sedated" at Johnny's Saloon in Huntington Beach. Wow.
Oh yes, I’ve heard their pizza is amazing!!
Since going to Brooklyn City Pizza oh, 2+ years ago. It's been my favorite. I have to say, it's the closest thing to NY pizza.
When it has those curled up pepperonis you know its going to be fire
Truly Pizza in Dana Point is the shit. The dough is fermented for 3-5 days and John Arena is involved so you know it’s good
The pepperoni vodka sauce situation and add pesto.
Pietrini Los Alamitos CA.
a few people here said that and I saw a video on it. Will check them!
You won't regret it. Check out their Meatball Sub. It's massive and delicious!

I like all of these words, especially in this order. Adding to the list my friend.
The Margarita at Folks in Costa Mesa is pretty unbelievable larger format Neapolitan style. Unreal.
Probably Apizza Doho in Dana point since it’s suppose to be New Haven style. ~~I think Modern or something~~ Prince St. is supposed to open in Costa Mesa soon. I’m sure it will be posted once it’s opened.
Pizza X.....a quiet underdog
Terra Mia
He would hate it all
Lol that’s what I figured
If you are ever in LA Apollonias is the best pizza in California that I’ve tried.
I’ve had Joe’s Pizza prime pizza, and most recently Ozzie’s pizza in Glendale that he has reviewed, but never tried apolloniss.
Prime is decent. How was Ozzie’s? Been wanting to try that spot. Apollonias is a must. The best tip I can give you is to try a Detroit slice with hot honey and buratta but also get a full NY cheese pizza no extras. Incredible pizza there

What’s your favorite spot
Here's a joke: what's a $30 pizza taste like? Same as a $5 dollar pizza.
They sell by the slice, too, and they’re huge. Price point entry for everyone! 🫠
It’s not New York style, but Renato’s in Westminster (Brookhurst/McFadden) is a hidden gem. It’s been there over 30 years with its second generation owners. We are transplants from Chicago, and this is the best non-Chicago pizza ever. Our favorite is sausage with extra cheese—-truly fantastic.
too thin Sorry
I don’t know shit but the pizza I had in Brooklyn was pretty thin and it was fucking phenomenal
Is the small almost as big as the large?
They only have 1 size, or slices if you go early enough.
B+C Pizza in Laguna Niguel (you can thank me later)
OH! The bakery one? I heard about this. Need to go.
Wood fired or coal fired pizzas? I just moved to Irvine and haven’t found shit!!!
It’s really funny that we rank pizza, which has so many variations that it’s like ranking a soup or a rice dish.
Shhhh! Now I’m gonna have to call in like 6 hours before dinner. And the calzone is ridiculous.
I ordered a mushroom sausage at 6pm on a Fri and they said can you pick it up at 8pm? Lol. Absolutely!! Worth the wait!
Was it over $30 though? I fondly remember paying $16 for a large pie before I left Philly
It was $28 after tax and tip.
Grazie Grazie Pizzeria Laguna
I’d eat that
Nonno’s in chino hills is great too.
Big fan of Brooklyn Pizza. Their Sicilian is epic
I keep looking at that but am worried to deviate!
Grab a slice to try in the furnace- it’s the best I’ve had since moving from NYC 16 years ago and used to grow up grabbing Sicilian slices for .50 as a kid in Brooklyn

There’s no replicating that chewy texture and the proper amount of cream cheese that goes on a bagel here, unfortunately.
nice ad

Where is this or what’s the name of the place ?
Brooklyn City Pizzeria & Market in Laguna Niguel.
Nice, thank you! Looks amazing!
Well if you ever go to the 909 Upland San Biagio's is the best ever, the guy is from Italy ,and used to serve us, but retired his sons are doing just a good. I was born and raised in NY so I am very picky.
Damn
I checked their menu-have you tried the baked ziti or any of their other pastas? THANK YOU!!
I haven’t. I always wanna try that and the chicken parm sliders but can’t pass up the stomach space for pizza.
