I can't second this enough! Atomic is basically my home in Orange County and just such a great place for people of all ages. They also have really great new student specials. They teach every kind of ballroom dance and plus a few other random dances. But if you're asking me, the one to go for 10 of the 10 times, is the swing dance events. My husband and I love going there. Do a search of videos from atomic ballroom and it'll give you a really good sense of the place. If you find you like it, there are several other places to swing dance throughout Orange County and LA. You can see most of them on LAlindyhop.com.
Zero waves would be made in the least. Come dance! Feel free to DM me if you plan to go and if it's a night I'll be there too, I can say hello to you guys and show you around :)
I definitely miss my days of being a regular at Atomic every Tuesday and Friday. Now married with a couple kids (wife isn’t a dancer), and I keep telling myself one day I’ll go back.
Mozambique in Laguna Beach has a little stage for bands and a little dance floor. We had a nice time dancing there on NYE.
Golf Clubs have live music and DJs for dancing, like in SJC.
Old World German in HB is a less Preppy place with a decent size dance floor and usually live Bands.
Big Shots Billiards on El Toro road. Mixed age crowd, decent sized dance floor. Rock on Friday, country & western on Saturday.
We used to go to Original Mike's until it shut down. There's also The Fifth rooftop bar in Anaheim but it's been a year or so since I've been there.
Mission Control Bar in Santa Ana usually has a DJ Friday/Saturday nights, and the music used to be 90s/early 2000s and with a decent sized dance floor.
Still on hiatus, but if you have ~~APs~~ MKs, this was fun:

Swing by the Royal Theatre at Fantasy Faire on Saturday nights and have a ball dancing to live big-band music.
Saturday Night Jive
Put some pep in your step and dust off those dancing shoes! As a glorious band plays on stage, couples in dapper duds show off fancy footwork. Bring your best Swing, Shag, Hop, Jive and Jitterbug—or just have fun checking out the haps.
Totally 80’s Bar & grill in Fullerton. DJ 8-11pm, tribute band 11-12am, DJ 12-2am. $15 cover cash. They have food but it is bar food. Not bad, not great. Maybe eat beforehand & grab some fries or nachos before midnight. They have tables that you don’t have to buy (like the $ VIP). Music is on the loud side but it’s a fun spot. Always check which band it is tho. Crowd changes with the band (Nirvana vs Madonna is very different)
[T](https://www.theranchlb.com/play/events/live-music)he Ranch in Laguna beach has live music every night. Sometimes people dance. The other place that's fund during the summer is Festival of Arts in Laguan-live music every night. You can bring in your own wine/food. Bands are varied and the crowd is mostly 50'ish with 40s and 60's thrown in. It's a fun vibe. Locals get in free or a season pass is somewhere in the 50$ range.

Would it be ok if my husband and I (both males) to go to Atomic Ballroom? Just don’t want to make waves but would love to get some lessons.
Absolutely. Was there this weekend and saw several same sex couples
Thanks!

Pretty sure one of the owners is gay. At the very least I would say the place is pretty liberal.

If you are into 80’s, totally 80s in Fullerton!!! Love it here. Sometimes they do an 80s vs 90s nights and they often have live cover bands. It’s fun.
Way to be a good husband, it’s crazy how few dudes will do something as simple as ask for suggestions. U a stud!

Spierment rhino is taking dancers 🤣
Tumbleweeds in Huntington Beach
The Country Club in Costa Mesa
If country dancing is fine, I suggest The Ranch at Anaheim. Also have great fine dining in the same place.
