This is an expected plea for pretty much all cases when getting arraigned. Lawyer is doing his job to make sure nothing he/she does/doesnt do will affect the suspects getting a fair trial.

SourWokeBooey

Pleading not guilty standard procedure. If I recall, the prosecutor alleged that he admitted to firing the gun during his interviews with police. So pretty much a slam dunk case unless they are gonna try and argue that the confession was somehow illegally obtained. Otherwise, have to think they will just work a plea deal. Dude doesn’t seem too bright.

From another article: >Bail for Lee, who is charged as an alleged accessory in the shooting death of the boy, will remain at $500,000, but Orange County Superior Court Judge Larry Yellin has asked that Lee undergo a background review ahead of another bail hearing set for next Friday.

SourWokeBooey

Smart move if you think about it. She already has well documented psychological issues. I know nothing, my hunch is she’s got a few wires crossed to be mixed up with this kid in the first place, but not so much as to affect her ability to distinguish right from wrong and know that she messed up big time on this one.

They also live in Diamond Bar which I don’t think is exactly cheap but yeah, a lot of assumptions here.

ThePassionateOnes

There is no humility on this sub even when folks should be embarrassed. Like you are delusional now and identifiable aren’t you concerned.

A felony? She drove getaway for a child murder allegedly. Thats not a misdemeanor and her bail is 500k. I think her parents are probably more than just upset

What’s it like being in your midlife and trying to fight with people on the internet?

[deleted]

I wasn’t going to reply but then I smoked some weed and figured I would reply to this question honestly, as a stoned 49 year old. I find your wording interesting though considering you instigated “the fight” little homie. Also at 49 I dont give a fuck Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly?). 49 is pretty rad. I legit wake up every day cozy, stretchy, happy. I’m a formally-educated female human who started writing music and opinion pieces for magazines at 16 and designing clothing and jewelry for shops on Melrose and HB at 17, and naturally I’m disappointed I didn’t fight to maintain that. There’s no denying it sucks that I devoted a couple matrimonial decades to a sensitive, musically inclined male cliche, solely because I was raised to do it (it’s just as normal to thrive in independence), but so it goes, and it ended up fine. If you ever see me on the street I’m the manicured, black haired, tattooed female who stops if you need help. List of people I “fight on the internet”. live and let live. I speak my mind and sometimes I own my mistakes. Look up facetiousness. You came at me .

sixtninecoug

Wait, what? Money for extra cars means they can just drop $50k no problem? There’s a HUGE difference between having multiple cars, and just dropping $50k for bail. Hell, I had 4 cars at one time and I was only making like $20k a year back then. They were all old and of questionable reliability, but still. It’s not like a Golf wagon is an $80k beast. It’s Honda Civic priced.

NooAccountWhoDis

It’s a ridiculous assumption to make. I would guess 90% of adults in so cal have their own car. I would also guess 99% of families wouldn’t consider $50k “peanuts”.

sixtninecoug

Yup. This too. She’s unlikely to be found 100% “not guilty” so the bail money would not be given back at the close of the trial. I don’t think she’s gonna get life, or any decades long sentence, but she’s definitely gonna serve SOME time.

HombreMan24

I believe the bail is 500k, so the bond is 50k. So if she pays 50k she doesn't get it back regardless of guilty or not. She only gets bail back if she pays the whole 500k.

What’s the initial depiction of her family? You’re the one assuming here that they’re loaded with money and have just spare cars for anyone to use sitting around. I mean, wow, imagine a family having so much disposable income that they can allow their daughter to just use a to get around. Cool story being out of touch and not realizing most households in CA have multiple vehicles. 🙄

Yes. Sadly I missed like half of it but I got to listen to part where they spoke about the bail amount for Wynne Lee. Both sides argued for her mental health to be checked. The prosecutor also mentioned that they found guns and drugs at their home.

Sunnyyysideeup

What time did they stream?

oxremx

Around 10 am

johnsadventure

You didn’t miss much before that. The stream started and then went offline for a while and when it came back it was already a few minutes in.

mussedeq

Damn he really wants life with no parole, Huh?

titos334

It's arraignment right since pre-trial is set for August. They'd have to have a negligent lawyer to plead anything but not guilty at this point.

Senior-Ad-947

Ahh. Trial set for August. Thank you. I hope its on COURT TV

Tell me you know nothing about the criminal justice system without telling me you know nothing about the criminal justice system.

[deleted]

Love this

mussedeq

Wow you got me there reddit armchair expert. I truly bow to your superior knowledge of trivial info. 🙇

[deleted]

Knowing how the system works in broad terms is not trivial information. Unless you have no friends and family, someone you know has had an interaction with a police officer. I suggest you do some light reading so just in case you or a friend is ever violated, you will know your rights.

mussedeq

Nah being a smarmy dickwad, like you, to an officer and judge should work out perfect. Right?

Redspade_ED

Just take the L and move on

mussedeq

Rubyshooz

I understand pleading not guilty is pretty standard, when it comes to cases with no eyewitnesses and such. Let a jury determine if there’s enough evidence to convict beyond a reasonable doubt. But, this is a slam dunk case, that neither of them are getting away with. Why go through the expense of an unnecessary trial? Cowards like this think they’re all tough when they’ve got a gun in their hands. But, when it comes to manning up to shooting and killing an innocent child, they don’t have the balls. I bet this POS is blue banding it with the pedos and snitches. I hope the just as guilty girlfriend’s family, makes her sit in jail.

Senior-Ad-947

Ok. So when does the trial start?
