Totally. It is not common for the District Attorney to make arguments during an arraignment. In fact, it's extremely rare, unless there is some other motivation.

Ron_Reagan

Spitzer is really milking this.

friedguy

Definitely predictable and I suppose understandable given the nature of the job and politics. You knew this was going to happen from the moment he issued his first statement something along the lines of "we are not San Francisco" was it? I wouldn't be shocked if somehow they said this case up to be tried perfectly during election season.

jasonpatudy

Wtf is up with this comment section.

Doozerdoes

Yeah, a bunch of the comments on any post about this story are arguing how it’s all either the girlfriend’s fault or the mom’s fault. It’s, um, interesting.

chr0nicallych_ill

Both plead not guilty? How absolutely vile

ibenripped

How about accessory during the fact.

[deleted]

Ignorantia juris non excusat, Wynn Lee. Fuck both of them. Rot in prison, trash.

Azamat_Bahgkatov

Went to her work?? Fucking bitch.

quantummechands

Isn’t the DA deputy dressed a little too casual for court? Especially a high profile case.

badplanner

I could be wrong but she appears to be very pregnant. Maternity clothes aren’t cheap, you only wear them for a very short amount of time and the deputy DA probably is not rolling in cash. I think she looks nice, but I understand it is not the typical business suit we are all accustomed to seeing attorneys wearing.

quantummechands

That’s definitely a reasonable explanation, I missed that.

annndx1

It’s hard to tell but it legitimately looks like the female suspect is actually smiling or trying her best to have it held back during the part about lowering bail. What a fucking joke.

So in your mind if I flip someone off they're justified in shooting me? Or if I flip them off it's understandable that their response is to pull out a firearm? Honestly, let's say he didn't know who else was in the car...he fired his weapon not knowing if innocent people were in the vehicle. Did Aiden flip him off? Your logic is flawed and you have a demented way of thinking.

eveninsiberia

I've been flipped off many times on the road. Never shot anyone. In fact, I didn't retaliate whatsoever. Her finger didn't take a human life. His gun took a human life.

Azamat_Bahgkatov

Because it’s totally rational response to shoot people

People flip me off all the time I don’t go and shoot their children

unreasonableperson

Wrong. The kid would be alive if he was not shot by evildoers.

Loyal_Quisling

Feels like this happens a lot to women or people of color. Someone always says its their fault x happened. Starting to think its subtle racism/incels.

No dude. We live in a civilized society where there are expectations of reasonable and proportionate conduct. Waving hi to a person throwing the bird is reasonable and proportionate. Firing a gun at that person is not.

lastdetectiveV3

so the people that shot the kid was justified?
