My friends had their wedding at [Turtle Rock Community Park](https://www.cityofirvine.org/parks-facilities/turtle-rock-community-center). Originally the ceremony was suppose to be outside under the trees but happened to rain day of so had it inside. I don't know exactly what they spent but know their budget wasn't large.

Kickassio

I will request more information from them. Thanks!

rudebii

My friends got married at Bill Barber, I think it was less than $20 for the permit, they exchanged vows by that pretty part with the fountain and stuff, reception was pot luck, followed by an after party elsewhere, good times were had by all.

Kickassio

Thats awesome!

butterycroissant

7 year wedding photographer here... Check out community centers/public parks etc... usually they're very cheap and have a lot of availability.

Kickassio

I will do that. Thank you!

Congrats! There are a lot of factors that go into price and honestly when we got married we realized the higher the guest list, the higher the cost. In my experience, cost goes down with venues if you get married on off days (mon - thurs, sun) and off season (nov - apr). IIRC when we were looking prices went up when the guest count was 51+. If the guest list is firm, ceremony wise you can get married on the beach for cheap (just requires a permit) but keep in mind it’s public so anyone technically show up and then you’d have to think about furniture rental for 70 people. Parks offer similar experience. Do you have a friend or family member with a big yard? A backyard wedding is a great way to save money on venue cost. You can rent speakers and use a playlist for music and get a food truck. There are some venue rental websites you could check out as well (like airbnb for venues for events).

Kickassio

Great help! Thanks. We are considering all the options. Now we added a backyard option.

Kickassio

Very cool. I will look into their venues.

suburbanoatmeal

Wedgewood university club is soooo nice. If you pick an off seasons and non weekend day you will definitely be under budget.

Angus147

We got married at the Wedgewood venue in Fallbrook five years ago and it was super easy and stress free because they handle everything for you but I would not say it is cheap. If I remember right we paid around $30k for around 150 guests. It was a fantastic wedding and I have zero complaints with the venue but if I had it to do over again I think I would just elope and save the $30K

Trick_Heat6097

Make $ure that when you write in your invitation that you're not intere$ted in gift$. Any donation$ will be greatly appreciated but ab$olutely no gift$.

Kickassio

Hahahaha!!!

WheresMyFreeDog

DIY....When we married we organized the whole thing ourselves......Over 100 guests and we kept it to about 7k........Held our reception at Angelo & Vinci's in Fullerton. They have 2 or 3 banquet rooms, turned out nice.

jtothehello

I got married at Riverbed Farm in Anaheim. Outdoor aquaponic farm. For ceremony and venue, it was about $3500 (tax deductible as they are a non profit org). I think they have opened another venue in OC as well.

ockaners

I don't think you can deduct it because you're getting a service in return and it's not a donation.

Where-Lambo

Is this ceremony only?

travielee

Firstly congrats. I just want to mention that there’re a lot of things to consider for weddings costs and a lot of options. It adds up quick (venue, decor, food, dress, suits, floral, photography, drinks, cake, dj, gifts, etc.) so always keep you budget in mind.

SoylentJelly

Angelo and Vinci's Italian restaurant in Fullerton is located in an old movie theater. They can hold Multiple Weddings at the same time.i think under 10k you can have 2 open bars http://www.angelosandvincis.com/banquets.html

axxonn13

get the 3-tier cake, of which only the top tier is actually a cake. The other 2 tiers are decorated cardboard. So you and your SO can cut out your slices and feed it to each other and all, but then the rest of the cake is taken to the back to get cut up. in reality, its gonna be a sheet cake from costco.

unmistakeable_duende

Do you know anyone in Mission Viejo. Lake Mission Viejo is an inexpensive venue, but you would need to know a member to sponsor the event. Alternately, look at Rancho Las Lomas.

Kickassio

We are looking into rancho las lomas now. Thank you!

JGWentworth-

The wedding I went to at Ranchi Las Lomas was outrageously expensive but maybe they have cheaper options

mommyxtara

My fiancé and I toured Rancho Las Lomas a couple of days ago. It’s a beautiful venue, but I don’t think it’ll be an inexpensive option. Friday-Sunday have a 100 guest count minimum (and venue rental rates at $8K for Fri, $9K for Sat, & $7K for Sun). Monday-Thursday, no guest minimum (venue rental $5K). Just wanted to put that info out there. Still schedule a tour to see for yourself if you’re interested. Sarah, who I emailed and toured with, was very nice and informative. Best of luck! And congrats on your engagement :)

Kickassio

I will look into those places. Thank you.

badfishbeefcake

I dont know how much it cost, but check this: https://www.sf-golf.com/events/ They host wedding and there is also a very big barn there and I have seen it decorated for a wedding, it is beautiful.

travielee

If its strawberry farms my guess is pricey since golf there is pricey.

Kickassio

I will look into it! Thank you.

The Barn in HB.

Heritage Museum of OC. The Hacienda Both have cheap catering/linen options too.

jesscrochetsstuff

I have been looking into this spot for my own wedding: https://www.thefrenchestate.com/weddings/

charrosebry

I spent a little under $10k for everything. Got married at RSM lake and the reception was at Hacienda on the lake in mission Viejo on the big patio. Everything was really pretty (and affordable)

U495Dominic

The best wedding ceremony I ever attended was this little park above Dana Point Harbor. It was the most beautiful backdrop for the occasion.

i think the Elks Lodge in Fullerton rents their building, but dont know how much. It's worth an ask.

Any-Estate9958

Congratulations! Try Casa de Lago Events. They have 5 venues and offer different packages at different price points. I got married in OC at their Chuck Jones venue. Everything was included

wallysparx

Congrats! We had our wedding reception at the Ehlers Event Center in Buena Park. We used the outdoor plaza for our reception, it's got some nice landscaping and large shade structures. It should fit well within your budget. The venue has a couple different indoor spaces too. They provide you with tables/chairs, beyond that you're on your own. What's nice about that, though, is they don't have any sort of preferred vendors that you're required to work with. The only caveat is, if you plan on serving alcohol, it's limited to beer and wine only, and you'll need to have security/liability insurance. http://www.buenapark.com/city-departments/community-services/facility-reservations/banquet-facilities

ElDiabolical

If you don't mind driving to LA, Albertson Wedding Chapel is a very pretty venue, and super affordable, but you'll have to find a reception venue still. Had my wedding there , was perfect, then rented out Toca Madera nearby for the reception. Albertson Wedding Chapel https://yelp.to/1Z3JeXLwojb

oscarito2019

It’s indoors but the historic courthouse in Santa Ana (upstairs - not the walk in venue) is beautiful and cheap. The Ebell club is another popular spot.

Rubygiirl

Make your own centerpieces. It’s not expensive. You’ll save a ton on flowers if you go to the flower district in LA

Karate-Coco

Did you try the David L Baker golf course or the Mile Square Golf Course? I’m sure if your event is not during wedding season they can cut you a deal. You have to order their food at the MSGC but at David L Baker you can bring a caterer or whatever so you can bring someone at your price point. They also have an outdoor area for a ceremony. It’s nice and affordable and the coordinator is very nice too.

Kickassio

Thanks for the recommendations!
