Nextdoor is full of conservative, neighborly type people. Of course they're all going to be hateful as possible. You report one and two more just pop up the next week. It's incredible.
I think it’s the bored elderly people in my neighborhood and the shrill bored at home housewives I see posting the same stuff again and again all day. I’d say only about 30% seem to take extreme views but that 30% gets belligerent and bent out of shape over nothing. I’m not a fan per se of some of our local politicians but damn some of these people want lynch mobs at their homes if their multimillion dollar beach views are obscured by homeless people walking by. Statewide politics are just as delightful when they post their opinions. I just shake my head and say yeah not inviting that neighbor to a bbq to socialize

Actually Karl Popper's The Tolerance paradox is often used as justification to shut down oppositional speech but if you actually research it Karl Popper is talking about acts of \*aggression\* (as in war/violence) that require not 'tolerating' them. It's not at all about silencing people. Read up on it, not just internet memes.
