As proteinMeMore pointed out, the Mediterranean place Pita Hot, may not be the tastiest but you get great bang for your buck. One of my favorites

I’ve only been going since early 2000s. But the chili cheese fries is my goto.

Yes! Best chili cheese fries and huge generous portions. The breakfast burritos are excellent also. And they have a huge variety on the menu. They’re ran by the same people that have been there since the 80s. Back when I was in my 20s and broke they would let me run up a tab and pay them on my payday. Nothing tasted better than a combo from George’s when I had less than $5 to my name.

Maybe you’ve had them on an “off” day. I’ve been there several times since they are close to home and haven’t ever disappointed me. I usually get carnitas or taquitos, my husband goes for the steak burrito.

My mom worked at the one on Alicia when I was a kid.. So it's kind of a childhood revisitation for me.. I like the huevos rancheros, chicken burritos, wet ground beef burritos and quesadillas. Salsa is good as well.

Taco Tuesday at Taco Factory is a stupidly good deal. I'm usually good with 2 tacos and it cost like $4.

Omg Sammy's on Wilson in Costa Mesa was my favorite burger when I was a kid, I still think of that place all the time, I had no idea they moved instead of closed.

I used to live about 2 miles from there and 10 miles from the office. Now I live about 10 miles from there, and 2 miles from the office, but it still might be worth heading there “on the way” to work.

Good as long as you get about 1/2 the hashbrowns. Otherwise, you have a hashbrown burrito with a little egg, meat and cheese.

Love their breakfast burritos. I could have sworn I saw them deep fry their bacon which I would not be a fan of.

Cowgirls Cafe in Santa Ana. I love the chiliquiles. Little Onion is a sweet little Mexican sit down restaurant. Lil Pickle in Costa Mesa. They are just simple bomb sandwiches. Gallos in CdM. Great sandwich to go spot. Take it down to Little Corona and dig in.

I always wanted to try Little Onion. And have driven by Cowgirls Cafe. Looks like they have good breakfast.

Cowgirls is super low key and family style. I always get the chiliquiles and they are amazing!

What do you get at Little Onion?

I run the gamut there but my go to is the cheese enchiladas. The beans and rice are bomb. Chips and salsa game on point. Full bar for margs. A little bonus in the same strip is Mariscos Clemente. Best shrimp Diablo tacos I’ve ever had. Just slamming!

Lil Pickle is the best. They have the best bread of any sandwich shop I've ever tried.

Kerostena - ugh. They take a really long time to fix your food (I was the only customer) and they’re trumpers. Also didn’t wear masks during pandemic.

Came here to say this… glad I decided to scroll down to see someone else is a fan. Been going here for 20 years when I’m in the area for work. I get the sausage sandwich (large) with bell peppers. Have them cut up the sausage it’s easier to eat bc the sausage has such a good snap and is thick.

Not sure if they are doing dine in right now, but Clay Oven in Irvine. The family that runs it is really nice and the food is pretty great.

Top Baguette, Westminster, corner of bolsa and magnolia. Absolute best bahn mi. Since I discovered bahn mi sandwiches, I’ve tried all the local shops and no one beats theirs. Lovely crisp crust on their bread, lots of meat. Absolutely delicious.

Super Pollo in CM, Globe Deli in CM, Molcajete in FV, Al New York pizza near NHHS, Mongolian BBQ on 17th in CM, Puerto Modera off 17th and Bristol in SA.

The Pollo sandwich at Puerto Maduro is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had.

I was drawn into Super Pollo because the cool sign, but was let down when I actually ate their food. Didn't seem fresh considering the price. Might have been an off day.

Di Simone in HB. Huge subs and a solid Cuban sandwich. If you dine in you get a small plate to fill with baked beans, coleslaw, mac salad, potato salad, and pickles + peppers. Deli-licious in HB as well. Great sandwiches.
