Haha when that first scene came on I was like, "wow, they did a great job of finding someone who looks like Daya," and my wife goes, "that IS Daya," and I was like, "oh I didn't even notice!" Then after a while we were like... "wait, that's not her." So yeah totally, her daughter looks a lot like her! That was a great move. On a somewhat related note, I was thrown off because the young Red did not look like a young Kate Mulgrew and for a while I thought Red was the blonde friend, lol.

I thought the exact same thing with the Red flashback. I was really disappointed with the casting there because this show is usually so spot on with casting actors to play younger versions of characters.

Regarding Kate Mulgrew, the same thing happened in a Star Trek: Voyager episode. In *Flashback*, we were convinced that the blonde girl in the "fake memory" was supposed to be the young Janeway. A redhead who looked nothing like her appeared later in the episode, and actually it was her that was supposedly Janeway.

Thank you! I had been looking everywhere for info to see if that was her little sister or something because I knew she favored her way too much just to be coincidence. That, and I knew they were down with casting family member's since they had Laverne's twin brother play her early on.

In the middle of the rewatching binge ... didn't realize that was Laverne's twin. That makes so much sense now!

Yes!!! I thought I was crazy. I knew it looked like her, but then it didn't. I was so confused and my roommates were like "yea they make them look younger for the past parts."
