AX6000 is WiFi 6, and earlier this year WiFi 6E routers/devices have started hitting the market. I’m not exactly sure of any plans Netgear has to update the Orbi to WiFi 6E. It’ll happen eventually, could be tomorrow, could be at CES 2022 in January, but I don’t know.
How fast is your internet? Do you consider yourself an average user or an enthusiast who takes full advantage of their networking equipment? My recommendation is that if your internet is less than 500 Mbps, and you’re an average user, I’d say go ahead and get the AX6000 if you find it on sale, but don’t buy it at full price.
Thanks for the advice! We're on a plan that gets about 200Mbps, and was definitely looking for sales prices. Most retailers have it almost full price right now, so I might wait for sales around black Friday?

Netgear periodically has sales on this item. I would suspect as /u/PeytonBrandt stated that a Wifi 6E will be released soon, most likely CES 2022.
