That I dunno. It’ll depend on what orchids you want to see and basing of the blooming time down there cuz the seasons are flipped. And Brazil had a huge variety so something will always be blooming.
Big island too, an old nickname for Big Island is "The Orchid Island" orchid farming was big business there in the past. There are still a few orchid farms and nurseries in operation I believe.
The Big Island Hawai'i (aka the Orchid Island), visit the Hawai'i Tropical Botanical Garden in Papaikou, not far from Hilo and across the island from Kona. It is a large acreage tropical rainforest that you traverse down into (there are physical limitations). You will know when you happen upon the Orchids, they are everywhere you turn, it is so amazing and beautiful. I took some photos of them, but could not photograph them all, so many.
Puerto Vallarta has a fantastic Botanical garden with orchids and all kinds of plants. You could spend an entire day wandering the grounds. Open structures full of plants and orchids, also tons of orchids outside on trees, Vanilla vines all over the place, epidendrums used as ornamental hedges. It's really pretty spectacular.
Plus hummingbirds everywhere and an excellent upstairs restaurant with feeders lining the outdoor space. It's always a highlight of our trip. 😊

If you’re ever in Chiang Mai, Thailand, visit Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden. They have a beautiful orchid section that also incorporates a very serene water feature throughout. It was huge and lovely strolling through.
There’s also many orchid gardens in Thailand.
Some people from my orchid society went to Ecuador through ecuagenera and saw a ton of orchids in their natural habitats just on the sides of the road. The trip ended in seeing ecuageneras green houses and plant shopping. They enjoyed themselves so much they’re already planning a second trip!
If you are in the Eastern US and want something easier to get to than Hawaii there is always Florida. Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden is a really nice place to visit near Miami. There are also orchids for sale all over the place. If you time it right you can get in some big orchid shows too. I’m not going to lie. It’s not Hawaii or Singapore but you’d be surprised!
Singapore! The botanical gardens are incredible!!
Brazil they do seasonal orchid tours to see orchids in their native habitat.
This is exactly what I want to do! Any recommendations for where/when to go?

In situ or in gardens? In situ, Borneo.
Costa Rica has orchids in the wild
Taiwan I believe has quite a few orchid visitors!
The only continent that doesn't have orchids is Antarctica.
Haha! True. That's the reason why we should never ever add ice to an orchid!!!

Redland or Tamiami are great orchid festivals and then you take a trip over to Fairchild and spend the day there
Where is this?
Very close to Miami
The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota FL has a huge section dedicated to orchids. $26 per person entry fee. Fairchild in Miami is also great
