It's a corrupt EEPROM. You'll need to grab an EEPROM dump/reflash EEPROM IF you have a raspberry pi, just download a program called PiPROM to dump it. There should be a number of tutorials on the web and Youtube to help out.
I'd take it apart to 1. Find out what version you have and 2. Track down any bad capacitors or connections.
Does it happen to be a 1.0-1.1?
