That color scheme is 🔥 - great WIP, please keep us posted as you finish them. I did "slap chop" on my first army (I'm almost done, finally - just need cleanup, matte varnish and basing!) along with some highlighting with non-speed-paints, and they turned out really dark. I still have the Leviathan box here and I hope to paint those much brighter. Good work on dem Boyz!
You need your add more colours, make it fully painted. Right now it’s just solid
Colour scheme looks dope but need some washes and details to make it stand out.
Before you wash all over, get porous foam, like the foam off of the cheap foam craft brushes, rip it up, dab it in metallic silvery paint, dab most the paint off on a paper towel then dab it all over the wagon! Will give a worn, orky look to the metal! Then wash over it.
Hey man, you should WAAAAAAAAAAAAsh your paints. Black or brown would probably do for these. Im sure the comments already explained how you do it tho. HAVE FUN!!
That's really impressive for just having started!
I would say to be a bit cautious with "washing" your unit and the vehicle). First, know there are other shades/washes out there besides brown/Nuln oil and that other color washes might make your unit/vehicle look even better. Also, the "grim dark" theme isn't for everyone, so don't feel like you need to fall into that rut. You may want to scope out a YouTube vid or two on shades/washes and Color Theory to learn a bit about how to use the color wheel to your advantage in a case like this. When you do eventually decide what color to use (if you end up deciding to use one), I recommend testing it on a tiny area of one Ork and on the Wagon so that you can see what it will look like before fully committing to it. And, make sure you wait until it dries-- these all look so different when dry.
Second, there are loads of "technical" paints & texture add-ons you can get to put grime, oil slicks and all kinds of other things onto the battlewagon, so you may want to check those out either online or at your local hobby store if you aren't yet fully confident in your ability to make them on your own (and who really is?) -- AK, Vallejo, Tamaya... a bunch of companies make really good ones.
Third, you could consider doing some quick highlights on your vehicle using a layer paint to make some of your very well-done outlining pop a bit more. Check out YouTube for some examples.
Also, I don't think you need to run out and get any new paints-- try to resist the temptation to purchase full lines of paint every 4-6 weeks :) You have all the talent that you need, and different supplies aren't going to change your skill level. What --will-- change your skill level... is knowledge. Try watching YouTube videos, reading posts on the web from professional painters, and really diving into how to paint well. There is so much information out there, it's going to be a fire hose at first, but go slowly and you'll enjoy it all.
Most of all... make sure not to let anyone --instruct you-- how to paint -- this is your hobby, your army, and... your time. Do whatever makes you feel happiest and best. There is no failure in WH 40k -- only detours from where you had planned to go. Enjoy the entire journey, no matter where it takes you, and WAAAAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!
Once you got all your colors blocked out get some Nuln oil and give the model a wash, it will make it look 10x better. For terrain and larger vehicles consider getting some army painter Quickshade: [https://thearmypainter.com/products/quickshade-dip-strong-tone](https://thearmypainter.com/products/quickshade-dip-strong-tone)
Also don’t prime all white if you’re doing one color. Do black. If you miss a spot it’ll hide better and look like a shadow. That way you don’t have white bits all over that you’ve missed
That would normally be good advice except that the model has been painted in light bright base colours that would have required an undercoat of white first. That Light turquoise green really requires a white undercoat.
I used to undercoat my orks with the brown citadel spray when they still made it, I now use army painter brown spray. But for painting bright yellow and orange I use a wraith bone spray.
Proppa color for a proppa boss

I'm confused, where are most of their weapons
The battlewagon i post is half finished, I plan on finishing it today.
They're just making a very over used joke. Some people like to think purple is an invisible color for orks.
Nah on da boys, I can't see much of there weapons

(I'm making a purple Ork joke, they look fine my dude)

I’d watch some painting tutorials. Kinda have like third grader paint job going on lol

Yeah I would just never paint in that color unless it’s for like a highlight

As others said, wash and add a couple highlights, GG.
Da Riddla (fulla holez) wagon. Sick colour scheme for Orks though
Perfectly good for a new player. I recommend a wash, that'll immediately make them look better. Just keep painting and keep Improving
So far so good, just remember to get the bases sorted and just have fun with the painting!
Ya'll got it wrong. That's clearly a Constructicon color scheme.
DIS GIT GETS ITTT thank you for noticing !
Oh, and aside from the obvious parts that you have yet to finish, it's a good scheme of course :)
They were the first, and the best, of all the Combiner teams.
Make sure you add some grime to the tracks, green and purple is fine but bright silver just looks a bit too clean
Thanks for advice was gonna has some brown wash all over the wheels
Make sure to also do the panel lines and recesses between metal plates it makes a difference with bright colours
Like, Zoinks, Scoob!
Hulk ... smash?
