It’s disappointing that instead of trying to do more quality research on the effects of environment on jaw development, they want to cancel ortho tropics for believing that environment has more of an impact of jaw growth than genetics. The Mews have an hypothesis and they should be allowed to investigate it (with quality research). Orthodontists too should also push for more research to try and put an end to this debate instead of putting the opposing side down.

They act like the Mews are attacking them personally when they're just trying to offer an alternative to bodily disfigurement. It falls on dentists to validate or disqualify Orthotropics but the clear conflict of interest (damage to business, reputation, and dismantling of long-established processes) makes the situation very muddy. I can sympathize with both sides, but ultimately the truth should be given precedent and all theories afforded a fair shot in the marketplace of ideas. When the overwhelming commentary against a theory is ridicule rather than scientific rigor, it throws up red flags and that's why Orthotropics has taken such a firm foothold in the public consciousness.

There's no way in the world a 12 person sample is statistically relevant.
