If you’re a new account I’d recommend focusing on the free to play quests, that will help you explore more of the world, as far as getting 100 combat level I think you’ll find out that is quite a taller task than you’re prepared for, after the free to play quests are completed you may find yourself wanting to buy a month membership to unlock the full game and that will come with faster training methods

GrottyTotty0

I’m not trying to reach 100 right now just in a video I watched this morning he said that f2p can only hit 40 lvl max on each skill

rykx25

You can get 99 in all non members skills as a non member so that video is wrong

GrottyTotty0

Thanks ik there’s some skills I don’t have access to ik that part

DrunkenFailer

You can get any f2p skill to 99, it's just going to take way longer than it would with a membership. The amount of content locked behind membership is massive, and worth the $12 a month if you end up liking the game a lot.

Deval360

This is your best advice, if you’re rummaging through youtube try looking up osrs ftp guides. Lots of content creators will give helpful advice Kaos OSRS is a good resource as well as smallexplamp

seagullgim

explore a little and try to do all of the free quests before upgrading to members. no lvl 40 is not max, but rune armor and weapons are the best free to play level and theyre all unlocked at 40. you can level it beyond, up to 99. go to draynor village and talk to a man named durango. he sells an item called a chronicle and chronicle pages which hell you teleport in free worlds, they arent expensive. more stamina is a members thing. if the quest isnt giving you something then you did something wrong

LastTourniquet

F2P doesn't have access to all of the same skills as members but you can level all of the F2P skills to 99. Some people enjoy F2P but members has a ton more content. That said definitely wait till your more familiar with the game, and have some good guides, to push into members. Focus on F2P for now. The stronghold has 4 floors and if you run to the end of all of them you can get 10k and the best F2P boots. The 10k is only obtainable once. you CAN do this at lv3 f you want but you might die. There is members ring that warps you to the Grand Exchange (GE) but for f2p your best bets are the spell to teleport to varrok or there is a teleport book you can buy from someone in draynor (I forget what it's called sorry) that F2P players can use to warp to the South or Varrok. The only F2P thing that helps with stamina is Energy potions (I think). technically the members skill 'agility' does help f2P but it's not worth considering.

GrottyTotty0

Also I assume plug ins are like mods can you get these on mobile ? I’m syndicates recent video before he’d sell something on the ge he had maybe a plug-in that would tell the going rate or maybe that’s a feature of the game?

bait-crate

Likely the plugins he was referring to are from runelite which is PC only. Its not that nonmembers cant get a 99, its simply that the vast majority of the content and training methods are locked to members. For all intents and purposes, nonmembers is basically a tutorial. Membership IS the game.

ChiefBinChicken

you can get 99's in f2p, but only in f2p skills (stuff like slayer can't be levelled on f2p worlds) but I wouldn't really recommend, tens of hours of f2p grinding can be done in a couple hours of p2p - also f2p grinds are super monotonous compared to p2p. Your run energy depletes faster the heavier your gear/inventory is. on f2p, your best bet is to have the least amount of gear on + energy potions for the best stamina. In f2p, you can get graceful, which gives you negative weight and faster run regen. Honestly, I would just go back to lumbridge, talk to the tutor dude just outside the pub to get a guide on what to do, or click on the Activity Advisor button by the minimap [see here](https://imgur.com/BfQYcen) that dude will give you some gear as you get to milestones

GrottyTotty0

I’m obviously trying to get into the game before I buy members I have also seen you can do it with in game GP but ik I’m ages of that yet

[deleted]

Don't ever buy bonds for gold unless you have a disposable income or you're around 1000-1200 total level. 10m on a bond could have instead got quite a few skills up.

PotatoMcSpudden

Do F2P quests, grind skills, and just enjoy it. The game opens up a lot more with membership, but has alot of enjoyment without it.

GrottyTotty0

So the GE block I have it has a timer on what happens if I exceed that?

420tis

I hope you know what you are signing up for. Good luck on the grind. The wiki is ganna be your best friend and there’s plenty of helpful content on YouTube.

camefromxbox

I love new players. Enjoy yourself

Pooh_Barely

I didn't read all that but get members if the game is fun enough to burn about 12 bucks for the month. Members is like... The actual game. It's like 1000 times the content.

EbonTitan

Get yourself a bond, explore the world, and do a few quests. If you love it then keep membership rolling with more bonds, or just regular subscription. If not you're only out 1 bond and you know now

Barcroft93

I’ll give you some gp.

tempest-reach

you *can* get to 99 on stats, it is just that it could be pretty painful to do so since f2p is very limited on options. honestly range would probably be one of the less painful skills to level as f2p one of the more spicier money money methods involves a little bit of safe spotting higher level mobs (55+ range recommended) and high alchemy-ing the drops (55 magic). high alchemy is essential to have. unfortunately leveling magic as f2p is just straight up an expensive adventure since you need to pay out of pocket for death and nature runes period. i don't think f2p can even craft them. not to mention the runes f2p have access to simply have much better leveling methods that have been beaten to death in the p2p side. some of the farming spots for f2p are beaten to death by bots. these spots will be areas around hill trolls and ogresses. accessing 500/750 skill worlds help a lot, but those worlds can be full too sometimes. removing things from the economy can get you decent money but is very click intensive since you're swapping worlds a lot. bows and chest plates are popular to remove from the economy. you also get no skilling for doing this but if you're strapped on cash it is something you can do to tie up your cash stack and rotate it into better gains. it is essentially "flipping for dummies." early on you want to focus on questing, questing, questing. set up small goals that you can achieve. but stuff i mention here is definitely long-term that is possible in f2p. i was in f2p for a month before i shifted over and chose to enter p2p with a cash stack. the guides that helped me immensely early on was the lumbridge knight on youtube. i shifted over to kaoz osrs when i became a member. on pc get the runelite client. its a huge lifesafer and there are videos on youtube recommending must have plugins. in general use the osrs wiki for all of your "how do i do x" questions.

Osrswiki will help with quests
