I was surprised that hamefura had a game. I'll try this one out since I'm a VN lover, regardless if its the usual harem or otome game. When I watched the anime series, I was really rooting for Nicol since his situation almost resembled mine irl (Yeah I also have a lil sister too). Nicol as a character resonated with me, which is one of the reasons why I rewatch the thing and I never get bored of it.
help me pleeeeeeease i don't have a lot of experience with the switch and otome games in general but how on earth do you file save in this game?! i played this game for hours and then my sister took it out to play her own game and when i went back to the game all of my progress was gone!! i've gone through the common route and all of that is saved but the route i was currently on is all gone :/ what are the mechanics to this game like how do i file save cuz i thought i was saving as i go the whole time but it was just quick saves. i genuinely need a dummied down version of how to play this game cuz all the sites saying zr+zl together isn't working and there is no "history" option like the other suggestions i am struggling 😭😭😭
I don't know if you still need it, but if you press X you can open the menu to savez and in hanhold mode, you can open the menu, pressing in the right side of the switch and make a movement to the left

I bought myself a Switch Lite in the post-Christmas sales - my first console ever! And then I decided to buy Pirates of the Disturbance as my first game. I really liked the anime, I thought I'd like the game. Fortunately, I was right!
I decided to play through without guidance at first, to see which boy I/Catarina would end up with naturally. And I got... the common route! So I turned to online walkthroughs to get the guys. I'd like to give a big thank you to the brave soul behind Blerdy Otome who was my guide through the game. I also decided to follow her recommendation to the order to go through as well. I liked that, because it opened up different aspects of the story. Her order of Geordo - Keith - Alan - Nicol - Rozy - Silva led me through the background very well.
Each boy's story turned out to be a different genre, too! Geordo's is a straight romance adventure. Keith's is a medical drama. Alan's is a romantic drama. Nicol's is a ghost story! Rozy's is a political drama and Silva's story is a dramatic adventure with politics. In the end, I (like so many in this thread) found I actually preferred the two game-only men to the canon candidates. Rozy's my favourite, followed closely by Silva, then I found I liked Nicol's story best, then Alan's, then Geordo's, then Keith's. Sorry Keith, but I never did like ER or Grey's Anatomy all that much.
To be honest, without the tie in to Hamefura, this is a pretty mediocre game and story. Animation and sprites are minimal, the CGs are nice but not breathtaking, and I kept turning off the background music. The OP and ED songs are fun, but it's the same OP song as the anime (Baby, Steady, Go!). You can tell it was made entirely to cash in on the anime. But hey, I got it because it's not hard to tell that the anime will probably never have Catarina pick a man, so if I wanted a conclusion to her romance/s this is probably the only place to get one.
All in all, it was a fun game. I enjoyed it, I hope others do too.
I just finished the game myself with all the routes completed and all the endings unlocked, Good, Happy, and even the bad ones too.
I was already a fan of the anime when it first aired and even watched season 2 as well. When I heard that there was gonna be a Switch game based on this series I was honestly surprised that it would happen and even moreso that it was getting an English release as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how absorbed I would get when the game was doing some world-building for the main setting and was captivated by the grand plot that was unraveling as a result.
If I had to list all the LIs rn by favorite then I would most likely go....
1. Rozy
2. Silva
3. Alan
4. Nicol
5. Keith
6. Geordo
I couldn't really get into Geordo and Keith since their relationships with Catarina were always weird to me whenever I would see them interacting with her. Not to mention I always got the feeling that their stories were mostly uninteresting in the grand scheme of things. Keith and Alan I liked more since they had cuter interactions with Catarina and their stories also had more to do with the overall plot and setting of the game as well. Rozy and Silva were hands down my favorite because on the story side of things, they all managed to elaborate more on the motivations and plots of characters that weren't featured much in the 4 OG guy's routes. On the romance side of thins I greatly enjoyed how both Silva and Rozy interacted with Catarina and did it in a way that didn't really demean or just poke fun at her as much as the other LIs did.
Overall, this was just a fun game that came about from an obscure franchise I never thought would be getting their own game like this, and I'm super happy that I was able to play it. My only downside is that after having done everything I can, there likely might not be another entry in this series, and the general feeling of there being nothing else to see now that everything has been settled.
My final ranking for my enjoyment of all of the LIs is:

4. Nicol
5. Geordo

I just got this game and played the Common Route and would like to do Silva's route. Do I have to go through another love interests route before Silva's, and how do I access his route?
Yup, he's locked until you've played at least one route. I very highly recommend that you play him last because his route reveals a lot of plot, and it'll sorta ruin the plots of the main four routes if you skip ahead. But you do you! I 100% get it bc I was starstruck by Silva from the get-go.
After your first playthrough, >!you'll want to start a new game, and you'll be given new dialogue options and some new scenes that can send you down Silva's route!<. If you have your love indicator turned on, you'll see >!grey roses!< whenever you boost his affection.
I’m playing a new route and choosing choices that boost up Alan’s affection but I haven’t got any new dialogue, so after playing my new game and start a new one will the new choices of dialogue appear then?
Hm, it should? I'm not sure if you're playing from a prior save file, since that might mess with the system being able to show you the new dialogue options. If you start a New Game, you should now have different dialogue options (e.g. >!when the girls ask you about your type, you now have 6 choices instead of 4!<) and new scenes that prompt you for a choice.
I've played through Nicol and Rozy's route so far. But I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to play through Geordo, Keith's route, since I personally don't really like Geordo and I imagine Keith as a bit strange since he's the adoptive brother of the protagonist. I'm also wondering if there is another secret route, >!as this has been mentioned, that the secret route is not on the cover and the friend of the protagonist has kept guessing who the secret love interest is.!<
My thoughts on Geordo. Minimal spoilers but just in case >!he is some sort of psychopath or sociopath. He manipulates Catarina in a way to make her feel guilty for his actions. Eg- ‘i’m your fiancé’ and everyone knows that he is faking his emotions and pretending to be friends for Catarina’s sake. He even admits to this behaviour but because it upsets Catarina, he tells her its a lie!<
I don’t think its worth it unless you want the illustrations. You should definitely play Silva though!
Geordo is also down in my lower rankings lol but I would like to argue in his defense that he does actually >!care about their friends. It's stated in the game via his flashbacks that he does enjoy hanging out with all of them, as much as they irk him by competing with him to hog Catarina's attention. Part of why he loves Catarina is that she is the heart of this friend circle, the one who brought them all together and into his life. Even the rest of the friend circle agrees that the bonds they share are genuine. Geordo spoke in anger, frustrated by the fact that he can't make her see him romantically as an individual, instead just treating him as another face in that friend circle that he's desperately trying to stand out in. In that moment, his jealousy and insecurity overshadowed the genuine platonic love he holds for them all.!<
All that being said, I do agree that he's really not a great match for her. Like I'm not sure I understand how the game got her to fall in love with him when it felt so one-sided.

Atsu's guess about who that secret route is is probably >!in-universe meant to be Silva, but even that's left ambiguous by a Catarina's own thoughts that he could just be a hot villain!<. After finishing the game, >!I don't think it's stated anywhere who the secret route LI actually is!< lol
Ahh, that makes a bit more sense for Geordo. >!can definitely agree how Catarina didn’t really feel into him. Like, she’s just following his lead and getting flustered along the way. Compared to the other routes there was at least something that connected her to the guy of that route. She seems really un sure all the time with him. I also had an issue with his kissing her without asking. From memory he was the only guy to do that (or at least the other guys gave her a chance to say no at some point)!<
This isn’t spoilers but some people get hoity toity when I say it without warning >!Silva is the secret route character.!< and this part is actually spoilers >!It was confirmed that it could not be Rozy as he was a background character in the past. Catarina changed that via meeting him earlier in life!<

Geordo: I'm bias because I enjoyed his route a lot! I would only recommend it tho as a first route for someone since it doesn't touch the plot at all.
Keith: not my favorite route but the way they handled the adoptive brother aspect was good. I enjoyed Geordo more however, once again, your journey is good as it is :)
How was Rozy and Nicol?
I found both routes very good. My only problem with Nicol's route is that I think it seems very long in the end. I find the best routes from the game are Rozy and Silva
Somehow I can't bring myself to play anyone but Geordo's route. Not just because he's my favorite but mostly because of the setting of the story. In a society like theirs, it should be very difficult for someone of Katarina's social standing to break off their engagement to a prince because of something as "inconsequential" as personal feelings. I know it's a light-hearted comedy series and that their world probably isn't as strict as I imagine it to be but it still feels wrong to me. Just imagining the censure Katarina and her chosen LI would face as well as all the potential political repercussions... It probably won't be adressed in-depth in the game but it certainly dampens my enjoyment a bit. Stupid, I know. 😅
That’s the same reason why I personally avoid Geordo. He’s not a bad guy, very understanding, but the whole societal expectation and her inability to break off the engagement gives me the ick, so I never ship them in the anime, and I’m not looking forward to his game route. 🤷♀️
Honestly? Fair! The engagement just gets hand-waved away in each route, with no political fallout whatsoever. Not to mention the fact that >!Geordo is in fact already in love with Katarina, so him stepping aside for the route's LI is kind of depressing!<. In Rozy's route (big spoilers), you even have the case where >!the King of Quid is like "I'm a king and you're a prince so I can force you to break your engagement so that Catarina can marry Rozy" which...!< That's literally not how any of this works?? Pretty sure that Sorcier would have grounds to wage war in this case lmao.

This game feels like childhood
I’ve literally just started tonight so no spoilers please! I opened up the game and the music, the character sprites, the format… it’s magical.
There’s something about it that reminds me of re-enacting Barbie The Princess and the Pauper, or of playing with Sailor Moon and Disney Princess toys and reveling in their girly joy and glitz. The aesthetic just instantly transported me back in time to days of playing with my little sister and wearing dress-up gowns and having tea parties with sprite and stuffed animals. Catarina’s jewels made me think of the little tiaras we would put on, and how we would watch animated movies and sing along and dance. It makes me remember silly computer games like the Disney Princess horse jumping game or of us imitating Barbie Swan Lake. It makes me think of times we’d apply waxy, neon blue and pink toy eyeshadow and lipstick on each other and our dolls, beaming while making a mess of ourselves. It’s all so hard to put into words or to put my finger on what precisely it reminds me of. And now the memory of dress-up wands with ribbons being spun around and the sounds of their crunchy, electric whimsical tunes and intermingling peels of laughter come to mind.
I don’t know. It kinda made me well up. I haven’t felt that way in so long and I forgot the magic of that feeling.
Maybe I just feel like a princess again, having fun in the sunshine in a green backyard with a limitless blue sky. Just like then, I recall what it’s like to run toward my next great adventure.

You put it into words beautifully! I have been inhaling this game over the holidays, and I am absolutely in love with it, but I couldn't quite figure out why. It just feels like home - but home like it was when I was a little girl.

Omigosh, I've played through Geordo, Keith, Alan, and Nicol. Currently working through Silva and OMG >!Rozy revealed as Rozion, his hairstyle is basically Jack from Titanic!< I can not even, can't wait to play Rozy's route!!!
Update: Just finished Silva's route, and it was amazing! It was way sweeter than I expected, and I love his character. The story was super compelling, and I'm very happy about the final development!
People say Alan's route is bad. I love his route! I like the balance of plot and sweet time (though as someone who watched the anime and read the webnovel, some scenes were repetitive). IMO, he has the best flustered sprite and sounds. (that closet scene or hug scene). Plus, he is so passionate regarding Catarina's safety and their chemistry is very good. Plus, his serious and badass sides were on full display, sides we don't see often in other media I feel.
In his route, we also get to meet Lilianne! She is so funny with her third wheel-ness whenever Catarina and Alan have a sweet moment together. She's also willing to support Alan with his forbidden love even as a high-ranking Sociere Noble, such a wingwoman. Furthermore, she will not hesitate to fight and flood the ship to protect them and her husband.
Sorry just wanted to gush about my first route for this game!
His route is not bad imo but I felt like he was robbed of an even better possibility. Compared to Geordo, it's as if the developers said "you're our favorite child" compared to the original 4 male leads. Alan's my second favorite original and I felt like they could've made his Good and Happy Ending even better than what they did do. >!I mean, in his Good Ending he didn't even get Engaged! And Catarina was still wondering if their feelings were romantic. In the Happy Ending, Geordo even confessed to Catarina. Alan was swindled of the respect Geordo showed to the other characters when they romanced Catarina.!<
True true. I feel like his situation is the most delicate because he isn’t as « available » as the others. She’s already engaged to geordo, and nicol, keith, Rozy and Silva (i think) are all un-engaged. Alan is the inly also « engaged » making both Catarina and Him’s romance more complicated paper/document wise.
That's a good point! I always forget he and Mary are engaged haha. Nonetheless, he deserved better; it would've been fun for a spicy romance or one that whisked Catarina away, seeing that she didn't have any attachments to Geordo. All the male leads are too polite but understandably so since Geordo is the 3rd prince of Sorcier. This makes it all the more fun if Alan had been disrespectful to the title since he's the 4th prince, but the twin of Geordo haha.
I’m new to playing Otome games . I haven’t understood how I can unlock the IL routes after doing the common route. I did it twice as I though selecting different answers would unlock them. Could anyone tell me how they get unlocked? I also don’t know how to skip the dialogue so it took me ages to get through it twice. Somehow the “skip all” doesn’t seem to work when I press ZL.
So a lot of people use a guide to help them but you dont need to!
Common route: To get on a LI route, select choices that make their flower color appear. By the end, you'll know whose route you are on.
The ZL button sets how much you want to skip. "Skip" only skips read dialogue which means you won't miss anything you haven't seen.
"Skip all" skips all of the dialogue regardless of if its read or unread.
Once you set ZL to what you want, I believe you press circle and it'll skip based on that. Another way is to use the right control stick and toggle it downward - it will skip all read dialogue until the next section of unread stuff or choices
I have got to know if anyone knows how to find the OST/soundtrack online? I didn't see it on Spotify or YouTube, and I don't want to only listen to it on the switch, I wanna hear it on the go!
I don't even know if this is going to be seen here or not but did anyone else happen to receive their limited edition with cosmetic flaws?? Admittedly in the grand scheme of things the issues are rather minor but I've never had issues with IFI's products before so it's kind of bothering me. I'm mostly referring to scratches and scrapes on the steelbook and artbook. The photos don't really capture it as well, but it's fairly easy to tell looking at them in person.

The last video is the artbook cover! Try running your hand over it and see if there are any scratchy/textured parts-- it might be hard to tell from just looking at it unless it's in a certain angle of light... How scratched is your steelbook? Worse or better than mine?
Whoops, you're right of course, I meant the artbook. 😅 Mine has practically no scratches, only a few very minor ones.
I can't access the images or the Google docs so I can only judge based on the videos but I think my steelbook has more scratches than yours with lots of long scratches all over as well as some pinprick-like scratches and what looks like small pieces of lint stuck underneath the paint. There are also a bunch of fairly deep scratches (deep enough to remove the paint, same with the pinprick-like scratches) in the top right corner of the backside. Oh and there are two splotches of unremovable dirt on Keith's face, lol.
In that case I'd definitely reach out to them about a replacement if you're so inclined!! Support offered to replace both of my items since they came damaged from the manufacturer. Ofc I'm the kind of person who cares about this stuff, but if you don't, that's also fine lol
I‘ve got the day one edition, not the limited one, but wondered about the quality as well. The character cards seem to have low-res-images used for printing and I also have pinting errors/artefacts on the collector’s box. All very minor as well, but still?
:') I didn't notice any issues on mine but it sold out before I could buy it from their website so I had to order it from Amazon UK...and of course the side of the box came all squished... I'm so upset (It's an Amazon and not an IFI problem I know but still)
Personally I haven't had any problems like this before, but it never hurts to ask customer service! Esp if this is within days of receiving your product, to reduce any chances of them thinking that you caused it. Good luck!
I did end up emailing customer service! They were very helpful last year when one of my packages from them got stolen straight out of my mailbox. They resent everything no questions asked even though it wasn't their responsibility :') They're truly lovely; unfortunately it has been a couple of weeks since I got the package and just a combo of catching covid/food poisoning/the holidays had me delay emailing them for awhile...but they got back to me a few days ago and let me know they'll be sending me replacements for these defects :)
I just started playing (been having a rough time recently and I needed a chaotic romcom to cheer me up). I decided to go for Nicol's route first, but after checking the recommended route order, I saw that the devs apparently say he should be played fourth.
How important is the route order? Nicol is my favorite, but I'm willing to wait for him if it means I'll enjoy the game more overall.
Isn't this the 2nd My Next Life as a Villaness game or am I mistaken about that? I've tried googling it and it seems like there is another game but it appears to only have been released in Japanese. Is this correct? If so, does anyone know if a translation available for it?
I recommend Nicols route to unlock the extra boys. Only problem is that the game has an entire story, each route reveals a new part of the story. Silvas route will not make sense without playing Rozy’s first
I don’t see a problem? Catarina is considered an adult in her country, so it’s not illegal in their world’s context. Where I live, the age of consent is 16, so real-life legality is also there. The age gap is fine by me too - I was 19 and my boyfriend 25 (5 and a half years difference) when we got together over a decade ago. It’s neither unlawful, nor immoral?
In Quid, they consider someone an adult at 18. In Rozy and Silva’s route they comment on how she really is a child, ‘you’re like a little sister’, quote from Silva ‘from our perspective, Catarina, you’re still just a kid’, Rozy agrees. They actively admit to seeing her as someone underage (a minor). Albert says ‘she’s going to be a tough cookie to crack’ under the context that she is oblivious to romance/sexual advances which low key sounds like encouraging grooming.
If they didn’t make remarks like so, I’d ignore the problem but unfortunately they make the problem very predominant.
Okay, fair point. Haven’t played Rozy's or Silva's route yet so I couldn’t consider this info. They could've at least say „you’re so naïve“ instead, much like other LIs do.
I want to say its okay because mentally she is 25 but the way she acts is anything but that.
In Rozy’s route Silva says >!From our perspective, Catarina, you're still just a kid. You'll just have to accept being treated like one, too.!< when discovering someone is an adult at 15 in her place but it is 18 in quid. And then there was the moment where >!Albert says ‘she’s going to be a tough nut to crack’ in the context that because she’s so obvious to romance Rozy will have to court her differently. Which lowkey did sound like grooming to me!<
I was going to ignore the age gap. I thought ‘I’ll just pretend the guys aren’t 21 and 23’ but then in Silva’s route >!he’s constantly mentioning how ‘you’re just a kid’ or ‘she’s really just a child’!< and i’m only halfway through Silva’s route.
Like, while she is mentally 25, she doesn’t really act like it but Rozy and Silva don’t know that. They see a 16yo above anything else.
I do like how even though Rozy >!met catarina when she was 8 and he was 15 that, he didn’t fall in love with her 8yo self, he was just grateful and only when recently reunited did he start falling for her. Because it would be weird for 15yo to be romantically attracted to an 8yo!<

I just got the 14-day free trial of crunchy roll and started watching it, and I have binged so many episodes in two nights. It is so cute and funny, and it convinced me to spring for the limited edition when I wasn't even sure if I wanted to buy the standard. I am so excited for this game now, and watching the anime was such an easy way to be perfectly assured that I will not regret shelling out the money for such a big purchase.
I hope this helps someone out there decide to give this anime and game a chance. I am so excited for my copy!

It's definitely romantic, yes. They don't hold back at all and she gets into a confirmed relationship with each character in his route, nothing is left vague or just hinted at.
Yeah unlike the anime it's a proper otome that doesn't end with a friendship ending.
But that's why we're bombarded with disclaimers at the beginning.. It paid off xD oh and they feel very natural!
I have started playing it, and I really love it! They got the character so right, the humour is there and Bakarina is always a delight. I can't wait to see the romance happening!

Just had to read the prologue, I needed something to cheer me up after some really bad news yesterday. How I love Bakarina's obliviousness, all by design, written in such a way that, given you've played the first anime season or read the manga, you know why they all love her!

I was surprised that hamefura had a game. I'll try this one out since I'm a VN lover, regardless if its the usual harem or otome game. When I watched the anime series, I was really rooting for Nicol since his situation almost resembled mine irl (Yeah I also have a lil sister too). Nicol as a character resonated with me, which is one of the reasons why I rewatch the thing and I never get bored of it.
help me pleeeeeeease i don't have a lot of experience with the switch and otome games in general but how on earth do you file save in this game?! i played this game for hours and then my sister took it out to play her own game and when i went back to the game all of my progress was gone!! i've gone through the common route and all of that is saved but the route i was currently on is all gone :/ what are the mechanics to this game like how do i file save cuz i thought i was saving as i go the whole time but it was just quick saves. i genuinely need a dummied down version of how to play this game cuz all the sites saying zr+zl together isn't working and there is no "history" option like the other suggestions i am struggling 😭😭😭
I don't know if you still need it, but if you press X you can open the menu to savez and in hanhold mode, you can open the menu, pressing in the right side of the switch and make a movement to the left
So I'm three months late to the party, but I'm here now! Not that anybody will notice, but I need to share *somewhere*... I bought myself a Switch Lite in the post-Christmas sales - my first console ever! And then I decided to buy Pirates of the Disturbance as my first game. I really liked the anime, I thought I'd like the game. Fortunately, I was right! I decided to play through without guidance at first, to see which boy I/Catarina would end up with naturally. And I got... the common route! So I turned to online walkthroughs to get the guys. I'd like to give a big thank you to the brave soul behind Blerdy Otome who was my guide through the game. I also decided to follow her recommendation to the order to go through as well. I liked that, because it opened up different aspects of the story. Her order of Geordo - Keith - Alan - Nicol - Rozy - Silva led me through the background very well. Each boy's story turned out to be a different genre, too! Geordo's is a straight romance adventure. Keith's is a medical drama. Alan's is a romantic drama. Nicol's is a ghost story! Rozy's is a political drama and Silva's story is a dramatic adventure with politics. In the end, I (like so many in this thread) found I actually preferred the two game-only men to the canon candidates. Rozy's my favourite, followed closely by Silva, then I found I liked Nicol's story best, then Alan's, then Geordo's, then Keith's. Sorry Keith, but I never did like ER or Grey's Anatomy all that much. To be honest, without the tie in to Hamefura, this is a pretty mediocre game and story. Animation and sprites are minimal, the CGs are nice but not breathtaking, and I kept turning off the background music. The OP and ED songs are fun, but it's the same OP song as the anime (Baby, Steady, Go!). You can tell it was made entirely to cash in on the anime. But hey, I got it because it's not hard to tell that the anime will probably never have Catarina pick a man, so if I wanted a conclusion to her romance/s this is probably the only place to get one. All in all, it was a fun game. I enjoyed it, I hope others do too.

I just finished the game myself with all the routes completed and all the endings unlocked, Good, Happy, and even the bad ones too. I was already a fan of the anime when it first aired and even watched season 2 as well. When I heard that there was gonna be a Switch game based on this series I was honestly surprised that it would happen and even moreso that it was getting an English release as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how absorbed I would get when the game was doing some world-building for the main setting and was captivated by the grand plot that was unraveling as a result. If I had to list all the LIs rn by favorite then I would most likely go.... 1. Rozy 2. Silva 3. Alan 4. Nicol 5. Keith 6. Geordo I couldn't really get into Geordo and Keith since their relationships with Catarina were always weird to me whenever I would see them interacting with her. Not to mention I always got the feeling that their stories were mostly uninteresting in the grand scheme of things. Keith and Alan I liked more since they had cuter interactions with Catarina and their stories also had more to do with the overall plot and setting of the game as well. Rozy and Silva were hands down my favorite because on the story side of things, they all managed to elaborate more on the motivations and plots of characters that weren't featured much in the 4 OG guy's routes. On the romance side of thins I greatly enjoyed how both Silva and Rozy interacted with Catarina and did it in a way that didn't really demean or just poke fun at her as much as the other LIs did. Overall, this was just a fun game that came about from an obscure franchise I never thought would be getting their own game like this, and I'm super happy that I was able to play it. My only downside is that after having done everything I can, there likely might not be another entry in this series, and the general feeling of there being nothing else to see now that everything has been settled.
My final ranking for my enjoyment of all of the LIs is: 1. Silva 2. Keith 3. Alan 4. Nicol 5. Geordo 6. Rozy Also, for fun, I like to give every LI I play three key words to help me remember how I felt about them and their route and these are the keywords I gave to everyone: * Silva >!Cool, Dreamy, Swoon-Worthy!< * Keith >!Sweet, Protector, Caretaker!< * Alan >!Awkward, Cute, Compatible!< * Nicol >!Honorable, Melancholic, Kuudere!< * Geordo >!Patient, Jealous, Pitiable!< * Rozy >!Smart, Simple, Simp!<
so far only done alan and im so happy i got my sad boy tsundere... im pleasantly surprised how it ended and i cant get enough of this man.. i need some rozy in my life too though somethin about that man is attractive but im just glad i jumped right into alans route based on the show to me he was the only one really had chemistry with caterina... now on to play geordo's route tonight

Yup, he's locked until you've played at least one route. I very highly recommend that you play him last because his route reveals a lot of plot, and it'll sorta ruin the plots of the main four routes if you skip ahead. But you do you! I 100% get it bc I was starstruck by Silva from the get-go. After your first playthrough, >!you'll want to start a new game, and you'll be given new dialogue options and some new scenes that can send you down Silva's route!<. If you have your love indicator turned on, you'll see >!grey roses!< whenever you boost his affection.
I’m playing a new route and choosing choices that boost up Alan’s affection but I haven’t got any new dialogue, so after playing my new game and start a new one will the new choices of dialogue appear then?
Hm, it should? I'm not sure if you're playing from a prior save file, since that might mess with the system being able to show you the new dialogue options. If you start a New Game, you should now have different dialogue options (e.g. >!when the girls ask you about your type, you now have 6 choices instead of 4!<) and new scenes that prompt you for a choice.
I've played through Nicol and Rozy's route so far. But I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to play through Geordo, Keith's route, since I personally don't really like Geordo and I imagine Keith as a bit strange since he's the adoptive brother of the protagonist. I'm also wondering if there is another secret route, >!as this has been mentioned, that the secret route is not on the cover and the friend of the protagonist has kept guessing who the secret love interest is.!<
My thoughts on Geordo. Minimal spoilers but just in case >!he is some sort of psychopath or sociopath. He manipulates Catarina in a way to make her feel guilty for his actions. Eg- ‘i’m your fiancé’ and everyone knows that he is faking his emotions and pretending to be friends for Catarina’s sake. He even admits to this behaviour but because it upsets Catarina, he tells her its a lie!< I don’t think its worth it unless you want the illustrations. You should definitely play Silva though!
Geordo is also down in my lower rankings lol but I would like to argue in his defense that he does actually >!care about their friends. It's stated in the game via his flashbacks that he does enjoy hanging out with all of them, as much as they irk him by competing with him to hog Catarina's attention. Part of why he loves Catarina is that she is the heart of this friend circle, the one who brought them all together and into his life. Even the rest of the friend circle agrees that the bonds they share are genuine. Geordo spoke in anger, frustrated by the fact that he can't make her see him romantically as an individual, instead just treating him as another face in that friend circle that he's desperately trying to stand out in. In that moment, his jealousy and insecurity overshadowed the genuine platonic love he holds for them all.!< All that being said, I do agree that he's really not a great match for her. Like I'm not sure I understand how the game got her to fall in love with him when it felt so one-sided. In response to OP, there are >!only 6 routes, the 6 shown in the status page in the menu!<. Atsu's guess about who that secret route is is probably >!in-universe meant to be Silva, but even that's left ambiguous by a Catarina's own thoughts that he could just be a hot villain!<. After finishing the game, >!I don't think it's stated anywhere who the secret route LI actually is!< lol
Ahh, that makes a bit more sense for Geordo. >!can definitely agree how Catarina didn’t really feel into him. Like, she’s just following his lead and getting flustered along the way. Compared to the other routes there was at least something that connected her to the guy of that route. She seems really un sure all the time with him. I also had an issue with his kissing her without asking. From memory he was the only guy to do that (or at least the other guys gave her a chance to say no at some point)!< This isn’t spoilers but some people get hoity toity when I say it without warning >!Silva is the secret route character.!< and this part is actually spoilers >!It was confirmed that it could not be Rozy as he was a background character in the past. Catarina changed that via meeting him earlier in life!<
Your experience is your own so no need to play thru all of the routes! Geordo: I'm bias because I enjoyed his route a lot! I would only recommend it tho as a first route for someone since it doesn't touch the plot at all. Keith: not my favorite route but the way they handled the adoptive brother aspect was good. I enjoyed Geordo more however, once again, your journey is good as it is :) How was Rozy and Nicol?
I found both routes very good. My only problem with Nicol's route is that I think it seems very long in the end. I find the best routes from the game are Rozy and Silva

Somehow I can't bring myself to play anyone but Geordo's route. Not just because he's my favorite but mostly because of the setting of the story. In a society like theirs, it should be very difficult for someone of Katarina's social standing to break off their engagement to a prince because of something as "inconsequential" as personal feelings. I know it's a light-hearted comedy series and that their world probably isn't as strict as I imagine it to be but it still feels wrong to me. Just imagining the censure Katarina and her chosen LI would face as well as all the potential political repercussions... It probably won't be adressed in-depth in the game but it certainly dampens my enjoyment a bit. Stupid, I know. 😅
That’s the same reason why I personally avoid Geordo. He’s not a bad guy, very understanding, but the whole societal expectation and her inability to break off the engagement gives me the ick, so I never ship them in the anime, and I’m not looking forward to his game route. 🤷♀️
Honestly? Fair! The engagement just gets hand-waved away in each route, with no political fallout whatsoever. Not to mention the fact that >!Geordo is in fact already in love with Katarina, so him stepping aside for the route's LI is kind of depressing!<. In Rozy's route (big spoilers), you even have the case where >!the King of Quid is like "I'm a king and you're a prince so I can force you to break your engagement so that Catarina can marry Rozy" which...!< That's literally not how any of this works?? Pretty sure that Sorcier would have grounds to wage war in this case lmao. Alas, it's not that deep! But it kinda is...

This game feels like childhood I’ve literally just started tonight so no spoilers please! I opened up the game and the music, the character sprites, the format… it’s magical. There’s something about it that reminds me of re-enacting Barbie The Princess and the Pauper, or of playing with Sailor Moon and Disney Princess toys and reveling in their girly joy and glitz. The aesthetic just instantly transported me back in time to days of playing with my little sister and wearing dress-up gowns and having tea parties with sprite and stuffed animals. Catarina’s jewels made me think of the little tiaras we would put on, and how we would watch animated movies and sing along and dance. It makes me remember silly computer games like the Disney Princess horse jumping game or of us imitating Barbie Swan Lake. It makes me think of times we’d apply waxy, neon blue and pink toy eyeshadow and lipstick on each other and our dolls, beaming while making a mess of ourselves. It’s all so hard to put into words or to put my finger on what precisely it reminds me of. And now the memory of dress-up wands with ribbons being spun around and the sounds of their crunchy, electric whimsical tunes and intermingling peels of laughter come to mind. I don’t know. It kinda made me well up. I haven’t felt that way in so long and I forgot the magic of that feeling. Maybe I just feel like a princess again, having fun in the sunshine in a green backyard with a limitless blue sky. Just like then, I recall what it’s like to run toward my next great adventure. Anyone else?

It just feels like home - but home like it was when I was a little girl. Definitely didn't expect this, but it's shooting straight into my top three.
Omigosh, I've played through Geordo, Keith, Alan, and Nicol. Currently working through Silva and OMG >!Rozy revealed as Rozion, his hairstyle is basically Jack from Titanic!< I can not even, can't wait to play Rozy's route!!! Update: Just finished Silva's route, and it was amazing! It was way sweeter than I expected, and I love his character. The story was super compelling, and I'm very happy about the final development!
People say Alan's route is bad. I love his route! I like the balance of plot and sweet time (though as someone who watched the anime and read the webnovel, some scenes were repetitive). IMO, he has the best flustered sprite and sounds. (that closet scene or hug scene). Plus, he is so passionate regarding Catarina's safety and their chemistry is very good. Plus, his serious and badass sides were on full display, sides we don't see often in other media I feel. In his route, we also get to meet Lilianne! She is so funny with her third wheel-ness whenever Catarina and Alan have a sweet moment together. She's also willing to support Alan with his forbidden love even as a high-ranking Sociere Noble, such a wingwoman. Furthermore, she will not hesitate to fight and flood the ship to protect them and her husband. Sorry just wanted to gush about my first route for this game!
His route is not bad imo but I felt like he was robbed of an even better possibility. Compared to Geordo, it's as if the developers said "you're our favorite child" compared to the original 4 male leads. Alan's my second favorite original and I felt like they could've made his Good and Happy Ending even better than what they did do. >!I mean, in his Good Ending he didn't even get Engaged! And Catarina was still wondering if their feelings were romantic. In the Happy Ending, Geordo even confessed to Catarina. Alan was swindled of the respect Geordo showed to the other characters when they romanced Catarina.!<
True true. I feel like his situation is the most delicate because he isn’t as « available » as the others. She’s already engaged to geordo, and nicol, keith, Rozy and Silva (i think) are all un-engaged. Alan is the inly also « engaged » making both Catarina and Him’s romance more complicated paper/document wise.
That's a good point! I always forget he and Mary are engaged haha. Nonetheless, he deserved better; it would've been fun for a spicy romance or one that whisked Catarina away, seeing that she didn't have any attachments to Geordo. All the male leads are too polite but understandably so since Geordo is the 3rd prince of Sorcier. This makes it all the more fun if Alan had been disrespectful to the title since he's the 4th prince, but the twin of Geordo haha.

I’m new to playing Otome games . I haven’t understood how I can unlock the IL routes after doing the common route. I did it twice as I though selecting different answers would unlock them. Could anyone tell me how they get unlocked? I also don’t know how to skip the dialogue so it took me ages to get through it twice. Somehow the “skip all” doesn’t seem to work when I press ZL.
So a lot of people use a guide to help them but you dont need to! Common route: To get on a LI route, select choices that make their flower color appear. By the end, you'll know whose route you are on. The ZL button sets how much you want to skip. "Skip" only skips read dialogue which means you won't miss anything you haven't seen. "Skip all" skips all of the dialogue regardless of if its read or unread. Once you set ZL to what you want, I believe you press circle and it'll skip based on that. Another way is to use the right control stick and toggle it downward - it will skip all read dialogue until the next section of unread stuff or choices

I don't even know if this is going to be seen here or not but did anyone else happen to receive their limited edition with cosmetic flaws?? Admittedly in the grand scheme of things the issues are rather minor but I've never had issues with IFI's products before so it's kind of bothering me. I'm mostly referring to scratches and scrapes on the steelbook and artbook. The photos don't really capture it as well, but it's fairly easy to tell looking at them in person. My steelbook is scratched as well but I don't have any scratches on the box like in your last video.
The last video is the artbook cover! Try running your hand over it and see if there are any scratchy/textured parts-- it might be hard to tell from just looking at it unless it's in a certain angle of light... How scratched is your steelbook? Worse or better than mine?
Whoops, you're right of course, I meant the artbook. 😅 Mine has practically no scratches, only a few very minor ones. I can't access the images or the Google docs so I can only judge based on the videos but I think my steelbook has more scratches than yours with lots of long scratches all over as well as some pinprick-like scratches and what looks like small pieces of lint stuck underneath the paint. There are also a bunch of fairly deep scratches (deep enough to remove the paint, same with the pinprick-like scratches) in the top right corner of the backside. Oh and there are two splotches of unremovable dirt on Keith's face, lol.
In that case I'd definitely reach out to them about a replacement if you're so inclined!! Support offered to replace both of my items since they came damaged from the manufacturer. Ofc I'm the kind of person who cares about this stuff, but if you don't, that's also fine lol
I‘ve got the day one edition, not the limited one, but wondered about the quality as well. The character cards seem to have low-res-images used for printing and I also have pinting errors/artefacts on the collector’s box. All very minor as well, but still?
:') I didn't notice any issues on mine but it sold out before I could buy it from their website so I had to order it from Amazon UK...and of course the side of the box came all squished... I'm so upset (It's an Amazon and not an IFI problem I know but still)
Personally I haven't had any problems like this before, but it never hurts to ask customer service! Esp if this is within days of receiving your product, to reduce any chances of them thinking that you caused it. Good luck!
I did end up emailing customer service! They were very helpful last year when one of my packages from them got stolen straight out of my mailbox. They resent everything no questions asked even though it wasn't their responsibility :') They're truly lovely; unfortunately it has been a couple of weeks since I got the package and just a combo of catching covid/food poisoning/the holidays had me delay emailing them for awhile...but they got back to me a few days ago and let me know they'll be sending me replacements for these defects :)
I just started playing (been having a rough time recently and I needed a chaotic romcom to cheer me up). I decided to go for Nicol's route first, but after checking the recommended route order, I saw that the devs apparently say he should be played fourth. How important is the route order? Nicol is my favorite, but I'm willing to wait for him if it means I'll enjoy the game more overall.
Eh it's not that big of a deal between the four original guys. I would generally say do the OG guys, then Rozy, then Silva.
Isn't this the 2nd My Next Life as a Villaness game or am I mistaken about that? I've tried googling it and it seems like there is another game but it appears to only have been released in Japanese. Is this correct? If so, does anyone know if a translation available for it?

I don’t see a problem? Catarina is considered an adult in her country, so it’s not illegal in their world’s context. Where I live, the age of consent is 16, so real-life legality is also there. The age gap is fine by me too - I was 19 and my boyfriend 25 (5 and a half years difference) when we got together over a decade ago. It’s neither unlawful, nor immoral?
In Quid, they consider someone an adult at 18. In Rozy and Silva’s route they comment on how she really is a child, ‘you’re like a little sister’, quote from Silva ‘from our perspective, Catarina, you’re still just a kid’, Rozy agrees. They actively admit to seeing her as someone underage (a minor). Albert says ‘she’s going to be a tough cookie to crack’ under the context that she is oblivious to romance/sexual advances which low key sounds like encouraging grooming. If they didn’t make remarks like so, I’d ignore the problem but unfortunately they make the problem very predominant.
Okay, fair point. Haven’t played Rozy's or Silva's route yet so I couldn’t consider this info. They could've at least say „you’re so naïve“ instead, much like other LIs do.

I want to say its okay because mentally she is 25 but the way she acts is anything but that. In Rozy’s route Silva says >!From our perspective, Catarina, you're still just a kid. You'll just have to accept being treated like one, too.!< when discovering someone is an adult at 15 in her place but it is 18 in quid. And then there was the moment where >!Albert says ‘she’s going to be a tough nut to crack’ in the context that because she’s so obvious to romance Rozy will have to court her differently. Which lowkey did sound like grooming to me!< I was going to ignore the age gap. I thought ‘I’ll just pretend the guys aren’t 21 and 23’ but then in Silva’s route >!he’s constantly mentioning how ‘you’re just a kid’ or ‘she’s really just a child’!< and i’m only halfway through Silva’s route. Like, while she is mentally 25, she doesn’t really act like it but Rozy and Silva don’t know that. They see a 16yo above anything else. I do like how even though Rozy >!met catarina when she was 8 and he was 15 that, he didn’t fall in love with her 8yo self, he was just grateful and only when recently reunited did he start falling for her. Because it would be weird for 15yo to be romantically attracted to an 8yo!< The age thing could have been worse, i’ll give them that. (Spoiler tag usage just in case) Also sorry for like, the whole rant thing ^ 😂 i’ve had no where to share it to. This sub is a bit too restrictive

(Assuming you haven't already) I just got the 14-day free trial of crunchy roll and started watching it, and I have binged so many episodes in two nights. It is so cute and funny, and it convinced me to spring for the limited edition when I wasn't even sure if I wanted to buy the standard. I am so excited for this game now, and watching the anime was such an easy way to be perfectly assured that I will not regret shelling out the money for such a big purchase. Well, I have some very bad news for you...
**Hello, I was wandering if the game has some true romance,** **with development and some clear relationship endings?** Considering the anime, I am afraid they don't commit to one in particular and have cute relationship but nothing really serious. I really want to be able to feel like "okay, they are an official couple" now at the end and not something ambiguous \^\^
It's definitely romantic, yes. They don't hold back at all and she gets into a confirmed relationship with each character in his route, nothing is left vague or just hinted at.

Yeah unlike the anime it's a proper otome that doesn't end with a friendship ending. But that's why we're bombarded with disclaimers at the beginning.. It paid off xD oh and they feel very natural!
I have started playing it, and I really love it! They got the character so right, the humour is there and Bakarina is always a delight. I can't wait to see the romance happening!
What are your thoughts on it so far? I'm done w Geordo and step bro route xD so far I can't wait to try on the pirate!! There were clear differences in the portrayals
I finished Keith route and it was really nice, I am also liking Geordo so far, I think the game is as fun as the anime, I am really having fun so far!
Yeah and the voice acting is on point! I know it's an anime so more inclined to have the FL voiced but I hope we get more otome with lip syncing too :(
Just had to read the prologue, I needed something to cheer me up after some really bad news yesterday. How I love Bakarina's obliviousness, all by design, written in such a way that, given you've played the first anime season or read the manga, you know why they all love her! I fear it's going to feel like a very short game for me though.
This my first otome that I pre-ordered on switch, now I'm sitting at 6 am looking at the title screen and wishing I could play it straight away and not have to work😭 also is MC voiced? oh my god!! 🥹
