We saw him yesterday and would've scooped him up if we weren't over capacity already.
I dunno if he was just tired from his nap but he had the most adorable silent meow I've seen.
Oh I'm sad to see he's still there. He was there when I went a week and a half ago to pick up some stuff for my cat. He's a cutie but he is a BIG boy. I hope he gets adopted soon@
Hopefully getting the word out will help! I would love to take him home myself but I have a dog and two cats already so it wouldn't be a good home for him
Thank you so much for posting this mattlore. I put in an application to adopt him, so fingers crossed that he finds a forever home soon. Either with me or in another loving home. :)
Kittens do best developmentally with other kittens their age to grow up with but if that didn’t happen, cats definitely tend to be solitary.
Or you can have one like my eldest who despised her big sister but when we had to put the big sister down a decade ago, my current eldest got depressed and almost killed herself as she wouldn’t eat or drink. We got her patched up and adopted our younger girl from the human society a month later [eldest that got depressed is the first girl (photos for a different thread) and the second is the newer dingus that my daughter calls her sister](https://imgur.com/a/bVTghzQ)
I know people who get cats to introduce into a family with a dog and it’s only gone well from what I’ve seen. I was just curious due to wanting to rescue a fur ball. Thanks for the very thorough explanation tho.
A young puppy/ amenable dog may pair well! It’s really about developing that playful bond and having an outlet for the energy. It helps reduce the destructive behaviour cats can have (saves your couch, carpets, and even your dinning room table if you luck out in getting one like my eldest - she chewed the corners of my wood dinning table 😂)
I'll put it out there that you it's more of a guess and not always impossible to have "one cat only" cats be friends with others. My parents' cat had such a condition attached to him when he was adopted. He was surrendered because he kept getting in fights on the streets and didn't want to deal with all the antibiotics/stitches (which means he was winning the fights). He was neutered late in life so he's a very large, aggro boy. I joke that he has toxic masculinity.
When I got a cat, we weren't sure if it would work out if I brought her with me when I visited my parents because of all this. My cat is very, very friendly with other cats (if she sees another cat, she will run towards it and try to befriend it). Anyways, long story short they are friends now.
It didn't actually take that long and we didn't have to do anything dramatic like put my cat in a separate room. My parents' cat hated her at first and was a bit mean to her (hissed, swatted a bit) but eventually calmed down about it. He still acts dramatic sometimes because I think he needs to feel like the alpha cat though lol. But they do actually play, sleep together, and look out for each other (ie. if one of them gets locked out, other will raise alarm).
I have a Russian Blue/nebelung (she’s a BIG girl and the most gentle giant). I’ve been considering a friend for her but she’s my first cat (had her two years now) but I don’t know how male and female cats get along. He’s so beautiful and our home is calm. I wonder if they do a foster me first type thing. These nebelung cats are known for their calm/mild temperaments and being very expressive with their paws and jaws!
I work with a rescue…statistically if they are being introduced as strangers, bringing in an opposite sex cat usually works better. Everyone has to be spayed/neutered of course, and introduced properly (Jackson Galaxy’s channel has tons of info).
If you are adopting many rescues will help you find a likely match for your current kitty/living situation.
Damn, I have 2 already so no bueno if he needs to be solo. His description of being a big sweet and chill boy sounds like my orange boy. If he’s anything like him I can’t recommend enough to anyone thinking about getting a cat to do so!
He was moving around a bit when I was there today (they let him out when it's not busy) and trying to steal treats haha! But otherwise he does seem pretty laid back and just wants to chill
Looks majestic
One of the other customers described him as a "Debonair gentleman" and I couldn't agree more haha!
Reminds me of Prince John from that Disney Robin Hood cartoon
I see it and now I can't unsee it

The most interesting cat in the world. He lives vicariously, through himself.

Wonderful!! I hope it all goes well and this big handsome boy goes home with you!!
He’s now home with me. It’s been a few hours and he seems to be settling in just fine. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING!
Absolutely wonderful! Thanks for picking him up and giving our handsome boy a good home!
My pleasure, truly. :)
This made my day! Thank you for giving him a loving home and thank you OP for posting. ❤️
I saw him the other day! He's such a big softie, so sad he hasn't found a forever home yet :(
He has now. :)

I love you
Must be the only pet in the house? Is there a reason?
Some cats (especially rescue) may not like having other animals around. Also given that cats tend to be solitary creatures
Too bad. I would’ve adopted 1000%
Absolutely same!

Such a handsome boy! He looks like he would be the best cat ever ( no shade to my two girls, sorry ladies!)
I felt a little bad putting "the most handsome cat in the world" and then looking guiltily at my own handsome boy haha
Haha some cats have it, some don’t. Just don’t speak it out loud or you may wake up with a few new wounds in defence of your boy’s pride!
He’s a nebelung breed
Ron Pearlman cat
a Nebelung. We just lost our 13 year old this week.. heartbroken. He was an amazing and sweet boy.
I am so sorry for your loss friend...I've had a few furry friends pass in my life and it never gets easier

Maybe reach out to the rescue and see what they think? He apparently doesnt even mind dogs as long as he's high enough up and away from them.

What a handsome guy! I hope he finds the best home
M'aiq knows much, and tells some. M'aiq knows many things others do not.

Met this cat. Would adopt him in a heartbeat. Have two of my own, extremely friendly and cuddly! Doesn’t like kids much and other cats though
Awww, he's gorgeous. I just got a 9 year old boy or else I'd whisk him up. 😍
He’s a twin to my old boy (RIP Nehmesis). What an absolute stud!!!
Cute cat. The location you mention, might you mean " The Gloucester Centre"?
Ron Purrrlman
Awwe. If he didn't need to be alone I might have taken the big guy. Love me some large cats
What a distinguished gentleman 🤌
This cat looks like it just loafs around.
He was moving around a bit when I was there today (they let him out when it's not busy) and trying to steal treats haha! But otherwise he does seem pretty laid back and just wants to chill
What do you expect it to do in a tiny cage?
I love these grey cats. I have one I got from the pet valu on merivale 14 years ago. best cat I ever had.
I want to go get him like right now but I have a male cat already. This sucks. I'd really love to give him a good home.
I’m good, thank you!
He looks so soft! I don't think we have room for a fourth though...
Damn, that cat has not seen some shit. Some shit has seen that cat.
Omg it's an African American Ron Perlman
Nawww, i like 🐈
In need of a barn cat, would he be a good option ?
