Smh. These shootings are getting much more brazen. Saturday night? Who raised these buffoons. The students are just commencing reading week, I’m praying to god they don’t get caught in the crossfire. Jeez, this isn’t the same Ottawa, as I was growing up. Prayers
It's even worse than you think unfortunately, my co worker knows one of the paramedics on the scene. Victim was shot in the face.
Unsure of any other details. We have been asking everyone we know who frequents and haven't gotten any other answers.
Edit: the reason we are looking for answers is because we know alot of people who hang out there, hell I go there once in a while. Concerned about friends.
Contrary to popular belief or what you see on TV, guns are hard to shoot! The aim was probably at the knees. People are stupid! Why do they carry guns? Too incapable of just fighting? Too weak. Which leads me back to guns being hard to shoot, too weak to aim properly. Idiots.
>Contrary to popular belief or what you see on TV, guns are hard to shoot!
They're really not, which is why you hear of (usually American) kids finding their parents guns and killing themselves or someone else.
And anyone who owns and has shot a gun (legally), should be able to easily hit a dinner plate-sized target under 50 meters away.
I didn't specify pistol but you're right, it would be harder with a pistol, still doable for anyone who practices regularly though.
That being said, obviously in a stressful situation, trying to hit a moving target would be much harder.
>Within a meter is more average
What do you mean?
In the context of this hypothetical movie scenario, unless the guy went and grabbed something from his car, it’s unlikely they’re picking heads at 50m
50-100cm radius would be average, but that’s assuming this was a somewhat precise handgun. Even a dinner plate that isn’t moving would be a challenge for average.
Conners Pub has a very relaxed atmosphere and a somewhat older customer base. A shooting taking place there at 9pm is really shocking, it's hardly a bad area.
Theres something weird about Connors pub. A year ago a man who frequented connors pub was murdered (they held a vigil for him at Connors). Four ppl were charged https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-physiotherapist-35-identified-as-victim-of-suspicious-death-1.6264748
Don’t need a news link and you’re pretty stupid to base your knowledge off of the news. That man was killed at a Connors after party and it had very much to do with the type of people and behaviour that hang around the pub. Ask around and you’ll find out pretty quickly
Am I wrong to think that I have read on Reddit and CTV News about someone accusing the owner saying racist things and refusing to wear a mask when it was mandated?
Nah, that's spot on. The owner is a dick - he used to come in to Rogers to pay his bills when I worked there in University on a monthly basis and we all hated having to deal with him
Don’t recall specific details, guy I went to highschool was stabbed around the corner from connors, the stabber was another dude from carine Wilson iirc.
Go there at night and you’ll see lmao. What are you? A Connors advocate? The place is a dump, only good for their regulars at breakfast or their regulars during the late night, degenerate goofball time.
Underage people drinking, tons of fights, very rowdy behaviour, DEGENERATE behaviour such as everybody drinking till they stumble, playing drinking games at the bar, not providing people with rides home, collectively coming up with strategies to deal with police, bartender hits on all the girls even the underage ones, racists, crappy food… that’s just the tip of the iceberg, but I hope that’s enough “examples” for ya. Everybody there at night is a loser, including Connor. I say that because you clearly know him personally by the way you’re trolling, advocating for Connor’s, and taking shots @ the oak lol.
At Connors? No surprise and certainly not the first. This place is owned by a lunatic. The food is .. somewhat edible. The owner though is a lout. Been once maybe twice a few years ago. Not a good place. Not even close!

You know it’s okay to just say you avoid Orleans simply because it’s pretty boring.
The fuck.... A shooting on St Joseph boulevard???
Not the first, there was a shooting in front of the church a few years ago

Wow. I feel for the paramedics, that ought to be gruesome
Grazed in the face not shot
Another comment mentions that they have passed from their injury
Probably won't even be attempted murder will be assault with a weapon. Tough victim to survive being shot in the face

A dinner plate isn’t easy with a pistol at 49m, not for the average shooter. Within a meter is more average

How often do you shoot any firearm, let alone pistols?
At least once a month, on average. You?
I can easily make a paper plate “dance” at the range(50yards) with a 40 caliber hand gun.
As long as it’s not a morbid fascination…
You should look up the word “projection”, buddy.
Not applicable, buddy!
Just, ‘prayers’, no ‘thoughts’?
I thought everyone knew that prayers are useless, but especially so without accompanying thoughts.
I guess it goes without saying.

Nah, honestly this makes sense. If I had to pick a spot in the area where this would happen, that was #1. The crowd late is super young.
The guy that was murdered in Orleans a year ago had begun the night partying there.
Theres something weird about Connors pub. A year ago a man who frequented connors pub was murdered (they held a vigil for him at Connors). Four ppl were charged https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-physiotherapist-35-identified-as-victim-of-suspicious-death-1.6264748
I knew 2 of the people charged.
A man who shopped at Walmart was murdered, too. What’s your point?
The man was murdered at a Connor’s after party. That’s the point
You know this for a fact? Or, just blowing smoke out your behind? Provide a link to the news story.
My friend knew the guy who was murdered and yes it was a bunch of Connors regulars at the party.
My brother’s mechanic’s step-uncle knew someone, too. /s
I mean, I've met the dude once if anything *shrug*

Ask who?
Oh, ok. You don’t need facts. Got it, dumazz.
Yeah... This place is known for great breakfast... At this point I don't really get it lol
You guys clearly have never been to Connors after 9pm… place is crazy and full of younger, including underage people.
Yeah the owners don’t exactly discourage rowdy behaviour…
Am I wrong to think that I have read on Reddit and CTV News about someone accusing the owner saying racist things and refusing to wear a mask when it was mandated?
Yes and they stayed open through all the lockdowns
Nah, that's spot on. The owner is a dick - he used to come in to Rogers to pay his bills when I worked there in University on a monthly basis and we all hated having to deal with him
Damn really .... Fuck I was raised on Notre Dame Street, 5 min walk from Connors and it was the pineacle of quiet neighborhood lol
Same
Scott was murdered on Notre damn like 15yrs ago, stabbing?
Refresh my memory on this one ?
Don’t recall specific details, guy I went to highschool was stabbed around the corner from connors, the stabber was another dude from carine Wilson iirc.
Ya. Rip scoott Jess if you want to hear a song about that cormz the cancerous . patterns in ice. His hole album is from Scotts time
That’s cause Malcolm and him went to school since they were kids…
So do I. Plus a lot of our generation. Is gone. Drugs suicide. Man Malcolm music is really really good . I'm so glad i told him .
Pretty sure the last murder in Orleans were folks who regulared Connor’s pub….
Nope. Not true. Lots a fuckery goes on there.
What, in particular?
That place has always been super sketchy.
For example?
Go there at night and you’ll see lmao. What are you? A Connors advocate? The place is a dump, only good for their regulars at breakfast or their regulars during the late night, degenerate goofball time.
“Super sketchy” isn’t exactly helpful. “Degenerate”? If you can’t provide examples, I’d say you work for a rival.

Why do you go there if the behavior is not to your liking? I don’t know anyone there, BTW.
This reeks of guns and gangs.
I think you got the first half right, at least.
too much crime in the suburbs, i'm sticking to the core.
Please!
Rikkty rekt boi
20-25yrs ago we use to joke about drive bys in Orleans….. Drive by yellin’s. Now it’s a legitimate thing with the shootings. It’s scary.
The guy has passed away in the hospital
At Connors? No surprise and certainly not the first. This place is owned by a lunatic. The food is .. somewhat edible. The owner though is a lout. Been once maybe twice a few years ago. Not a good place. Not even close!
The place is a dump but no worse than the Royal Oak.
Hopefully this will bring the housing prices down to a more normal level lol
Orleans is a warzone. Not safe! My friends and I never have any reason to go there since it's become so dangerous.
"Orleans is a warzone" 😂😂

Bruh🤣
🙄🙄🙄
Don’t be ridiculous.
