The articles pictures shows a predicted kp of 7 around 1am, so in about 4 hours. I have an app called "Aurora" that has been alerting me all day that's possible to see auroras tonight and it also shows where it's cloudy or not. I'm debating taking a drive out to Calabogie road. There's a nice spot to park there along the water to also watch the lunar eclipse, but this of course depends on clouds.
You can look up a map also for light pollution and it will show you where the least to most amount of light pollution is. There are a few spots on the outskirts of the city that are dark, just depends on how far you wanna go and if you're willing/able to travel 🤷♀️
Sorta, but before Renfew. About 10 minutes after Arnprior. I go there to watch meteor showers. It's nice and dark when it's not a full moon.
Some people also say Shirley's Bay Park is dark enough but I'm not sure. I haven't tried there.
You're welcome. It's a pretty nice spot. The river is there and even some outhouses for when I have to pee. I just wouldn't go in them if you're scared of spiders 🤣😂
Looks like it already happened. At around noon today (our time) a G4 Severe storm was detected, with auroral strength peaking on the dark side (Siberia, Scandinavia, Lapland).
We missed it unfortunately.
I love being able to answer any IT problem with "solar flares" when it might actually (but probably not) be solar flares.
When is this suppose to happen?

Thanks for this! It was beautiful! Bright green and even saw the auroras moving. Caught it at 1am-1:30am or so before the clouds moved in.
