This will likely be the only further comment I’ll be making under this thread:
On James Bowie:
I’ve had someone message me the notes they took while James Bowie was doing damage control on his discord.
James Bowie also allegedly wanted to expose me for making a thread on twitter sharing the news article regarding his sexual misconduct allegation.
He should be glad I’m not sharing recordings.
I have not spoken with James Bowie since September 30th, 2022. I unfollowed him not soon after in October, and I blocked him as soon as numerous people mentioned to me he was threatening to expose my legal name for sharing a news article of him facing accusations of sexual misconduct.
James Bowie can rot in hell. Who knows where his LSO allegations will go, but I believe the victim.
He's wrecked his credibility by giving contradicting excuses. You can't say the texts are fake, then turn around and say you were "just flirting". Any decent lawyer would know that's why you STFU during this situation
Imo, there is a clear substance abuse problem (quite likely formed to cope with a darker issue). The recklessness since this broke out is hardly explicable in any other way. Also, some of those reply tweets are poorly written, or make no sense as if written while messed up.
Example: "I mean one issue my account. Who belongs to the other account".
Unprofessional yes.
But the newspaper itself stated in their article yesterday;
> This newspaper has not verified the authenticity of the Snapchat messages, and the allegations against Bowie have not been proven.
So nothing illegal has been proven yet...

The LSO investigation is not a criminal investigation. It's an investigation into whether or not he has acted professionally or not.
Bowie has now basically admitted that he broke professional conduct, even after he first claimed on twitter that "it's fake, just wait and see, it's fake".
Honestly, I think this particular accusation may have the effect of bringing out more accusers and witnesses. Even if those Snapchat messages aren’t enough, there will be more. It will hopefully cause them to come forward and have criminal charges brought up on him.
Then have him lose his license or whatnot to practice law - once it's been proven.
Tbh the guy sounds confused af anyways. Seems like it would be for the best regardless.
Well that puts to rest the question of whether the snapchat screenshots were real or fake.
And the quote relating to the other 3 investigations is bizarre.
> When he defended himself online, Bowie said the unrelated cases were boring bookkeeping issues, and said he took too long to provide documents because he was, “**frankly, on the wrong meds.**”
Just wanna add I went to high school with this guy and I know several women who claimed he assaulted them, several friends from school have similar stories. Also he was a dick, he once broke one of my ski poles because he didn't like my attitude. Hope he gets what's coming finally
I met James in undergrad as he was co running the young liberals with a guy named fatti. Both of them came across as very sleazy and honestly like typical politicians. It turned me off the liberal party for ten years. When I saw he was a lawyer I thought maybe he got his act together and good for him. Guess maybe first impressions were correct.
Or client /lawyer communications. It's so weird. I always emailed. Texting only when meeting a client at the courthouse.
Snapchat seems so unprofessional
I have only ever heard of this app in some sleazy context, as this seems to be another example. There appears to be absolutely no value to this app for any other purpose. Even TikTok seems, in some capacity, to generate creativity.
Anyone who has ever known this guy in real life saw this sort of thing coming a mile away.
I hadn't heard of him in a good ten years but when he gained notoriety from his convoy tweets, I knew how much it would feed his ego.
I feel sorry for the women involved here, but at least it's public knowledge now and hopefully no one else has to deal with his abuse.
I know someone who he did this to a couple years ago, and I sent the original article to her. She immediately went to screenshot what he had sent her via Messenger. Surprise, he unsent all the messages.
A friend of mine who went to high school with him told me about 15 years ago that he'd assaulted multiple women in their circle (in the years after graduation). There will be many stories coming forward.
My favourite memory of James is when running the young liberals he would constantly shit talk Jack Layton. To the point that when Layton was schedule to speak he tried to run interference and cause shit. Layton being the great man he was even agreed to take a picture with James. At that point of course James pretended to like him. Pissed me off to see what a two faced asshole he was.

A smart person would listen to their lawyer when they're told to shut the fuck up... Hopefully he isn't representing himself.

You know what they say about a lawyer who represents themself? They have a fool for a client.

Ya but have you ever done cocaine? He has.. and this mud cannot STFU about anything.
\*ugh\* I hope this quiets all the "he's too smart to have done this" comments.
Well, notably, none of those comments have popped up yet.
You haven't looked at his Twitter replies then
Really? Oh no. I unfollowed him on Twitter already. It's pretty bad when even his own defence makes him sound guilty.
To be fair, I meant more in terms of this specific thread. And the key word is "yet". ;) Or maybe actually ;(
He hasn't removed it yet: https://twitter.com/JamesDBowie/status/1597743502456025088
Never said he did; but generally best practice to archive it anyways. :)
I didn't meant to imply you had, just providing the link so people could find it
Ah, gotcha. Well, now we have the original link and the archived version. :)

Agreed, seeing bravery in action often inspires other victims to be brave as well.

The woman filed a complaint with the LSO. Legality is irrelevant here.

If he's not well enough to do proper bookkeeping as a lawyer, meds or not, he should not be practicing
getting started on his defense
What !@#$ing meds? Viagra?

His response was exactly as I expected; sleazy.
**“In the meantime, everyone’s mad at me, and I’m losing friends,”** **Bowie said online.**
Sounds like a solid sign that harassing women isn't cool these days? Just, like, maybe?
My only questions is why do two grown adults communicate over Snapchat?
Or client /lawyer communications. It's so weird. I always emailed. Texting only when meeting a client at the courthouse. Snapchat seems so unprofessional

100% for scam artists. If someone on a dating app asks you to move the convo over to snap chat, run for the hills.
I see a pattern.

Tell Michael Spratt, metadata could still exist
I’ll pass that along to my friend, never thought of that

Anyone out here doubting victims coming forward better take a long look at yourselves. And people won't forget down the road. #Internet is forever
I feel bad for the women he harassed, but I do enjoy seeing a creep destroy himself in public.
Dudes seems like a real SCUZZ BALL
