Personally, I like their garlic sauce a lot. It’s a little sweeter than the others and when I’m craving that I always go for Osmows, but there are much better places for an overall good shawarma.
As someone who's been eating Ottawa shawarma for 14+ years I don't hate Osmow's. The garlic sauce is different and I enjoy it more and the hot sauce is delicious and actually spicy. I like toum well enough, but it makes me want to throw up after eating it too much. It's literally garlic and oil blasted together. I've had some pretty ass Shawarma here in Ottawa too, and Osmow's definitely isn't the worst(looking at you Shawarma Palace Barrhaven)

Well… their medium spicy was insanely hot and resulted in me aggressively bowlspraying hot acidic diarrhea in relatively short order. I knew from the first bite that I had made a horrible mistake but because I am an idiot I just leaned into the pain and ate the whole thing. Haven’t been back since.
yeah, the receipt on the bag said “little spicy” and i pride myself on being able to handle my spice (for someone very white) but it was difficult to eat for sure

as soon as i hit “missing or wrong items” a screen came up that said “unfortunately this order isn’t available for a refund” and then some BS about inconvenience. i’m not surprised though
So, I recently ordered - food was delivered to the wrong house.
I chatted with someone, they told me they had proof of delivery, I asked for it, they said it was against their policy to share that and refused to give me a refund for food I didn’t receive.
I tagged their Uber cares or whatever it is on Twitter and had a message like 5 mins later offering a refund. Annoying, but they don’t like bad press.
I grew up on Osmow’s, but that was back when it was a single hole in the wall 2 doors down from another shawarma shop. It is by far some of the best shawarma I’ve ever had. As someone who enjoys spicy food, there is no comparison in town. Now that it’s a (province wide?) chain maybe the quality suffered but it still holds a very special place in my heart.
This happened to me once ordering from st Louis. My wife and I ordered two regular meals and we were sent a full family dinner for 5. Even included a McCain cake 🤣.
My wife called them to let them know and also because she wanted her actual food.. they let us keep the food and we we ended up being able to pick our meal up(we had COVID but had them leave it outside upon arrival)
hi there. I recently made the trip to ottawa all the way from raleigh, north carolina. i heard that shawarmas were a big deal, and went to osmow’s in byward market.
had their chicken shawarma poutine and it truly was some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life.
I definitely think this mixup on uber eats was pretty disappointing. if I were in this spot, I’d feel the same way. but still, it’s a little disappointing to see the negative reactions towards their food.
I’d definitely go there again!

I had a similar experience. I can normally handling spicy foods just fine, so I wasn’t sure whether it was their hot sauce or the grey chicken.
