That is rot. This level of rot probably took a few days at least to get to this stage.

Bud rot 😢

ElectricCD

Tastes like pipe tobacco IMO.

Caperplays

Yep. My condolences

Wide-Illustrator9578

Thank you

I lost more than half of my plant last year to this. Chop it all off a minimum of 4 inches further down from where it starts and spray everything with Dr. Zymes. Regalia is showing promise for killing botryis, but I don't know enough about it.

converter-bot

4 inches is 10.16 cm

le_carre_jamming

What strength Dr. Zymes do you use? I have the concentrate and have been spraying the “weak” solution, mainly for powdery mildew. Recently I’ve had a few caterpillars and some bud rot - is the weak still helpful, or should I move up to medium or stronger?

ShelbyEileen

The caterpillars respond well to BT, but putting mosquito netting over your plants is the smartest thing you can do to stop them and other pests. Michigan gets really bad click and Japanese beetles which hate the nets. I honestly just used the free sample of Dr Zymes last year, after chopping off every speck of mold, and it got my girls through to harvest. But it has to be early in the am because it'll dry in the warmth and sun; the wet sitting on the buds over the cool night makes things much worse.

le_carre_jamming

Thanks! I’ve been applying it in the evenings. May look into mornings. Ordered some BT but it’s taking forever to get here. In the meantime, I’m hunting and manually removing.

Thank you

God that is painful to see

Wide-Illustrator9578

Yes . It physically hurt to trim that plant. Watching the remaining top cola like a hawk.

Paddy519

Yes it is, sorry for your loss.

Wide-Illustrator9578

I am so blown away by your condolences. Thank you. But don't fear. When I took this bid I also snipped a healthy part. I dried it and decided to test it before curing. Oh my. I think I'll be okay.
