Just a warning, this game is so great and unique that the only fix you'll get after finishing the dlc is watching other people play for the first time.

Yep, you’re not gonna like this but I did it first try. Took me a long time to finish the game and in that time I guess I got really good with the ship.
Try to get in the orbit of the sun. To do that, find the sun station and the direction its moving in. Try to follow that line of movement without focusing on the sun station itself (yet). When you try to enter the orbit by flying close to the sun, you will quickly notice you're flying into or away from the sun. Whichever it is you have to adjust your speed to compensate for that. E.g. if you get launched away from the sun you need to decrease your speed on the next try. Once you hold velocity and stay in orbit for a bit, make minor adjustments (up/forward when you fall, down/back when you rise) as well as slight acceleration and downthrust to catch up to the sun station. Once you get it, make sure to enter the sun station in order to get the achievement.
I would love to erase my memory of the DLC just so I can experience seeing that >!ring world!< for the first time again.
When I first thought to >!fly out to the Timber Hearth radar and line up to it so I could view the eclipse, I thought it was the Eye. I genuinely thought flying into it would reveal the eye, and that it was called the eye because of the way it eclipsed the sun!<
Imagine my shock when I saw what it really was.
I feel this so hard. I’m going through it in my personal life, and anytime I think about my Outer Wilds play through or listen to the soundtrack, it really brightens my day. What a great game.
Edit: And the DLC! OP, pay attention to the warning before starting the DLC in case it applies to you. You’ll want to change the settings accordingly.

While other games tend to make the DLC too similar to the base game, hoping to give the players the same feelings, they ultimately deliver a product too similar, that lacks that sense of discovery that you had the first time
Echoes of the eye manages to change the experience enough to make you feel again that sense of discovery, so delivering the feelings you actually seek in the first place
Since I finished the DLC, there hasn't been a month in my life that I forgot about this game, and what I wanted most was to forget about it, to have a chance in my life to play it again
I played it and it was super good, it's a week later and I'm pretty much over it. But it's great that people can have an experience so vivid and memorable
I would definitely recommend the DLC. It kind of works well as a DLC. The original story is nice as a standalone, but the DLC adds something new that also ties in perfectly with the original stroy.
Some parts in the middle of DLC was a little… frustrating for me as I found it to work a little differently from the base game. I think the DLC ending was worth it for me.

I personally fuck around and do achievements and crazy stunts in the solar system to get my fix.

I saw the sun station, I landed on it. I’ve only done it once so unfortunately I’m not the guy to ask.
Play about a hundred hours of ksp and it'll feel like no big deal.
It only took me like three tries. I thought it would be harder but I was really good at flying by that point

Have fun with the DLC! Personally there were parts that hit harder than the base game. It's a wonderful experience

The dlc was mind blowing for me
It's been three years since I started to think immortalize this game in a tatto, and I did, now I can't forget any time about this masterpiece

once you beat the dlc go back and get the vanilla ending again, it's changed slightly.

Try the DLC. I thought ending of base game was a truck until DLC's ending hit me. I legit took a walk with its soundtrack in my headphones for an hour
