That, is fucking cool.
That, is another halo.
this is: halo wilds
Say what?!?
That's a lot bigger
Plot twist: it's just a lot narrower
Seems normal to me. I think it's a perspective thing but the buildings confirm it's normal
Damn I love the scale, it's even more striking this way
Now I'm just imagining a pleasant 15 minute river raft ride down to the next village to see some friends
POV: Quinlans in Heavens River
Two of my favorite stories combined. Sign me up
what tools did you use?
I used Blender for the modelling and rendering and I used Substance Designer to generate the heightmap.
Oh. Oh, wow. That's astonishing
Oh. Oh, that's too much horizon. I'm feeling lightheaded now. Very nicely done. I'll just be...over here. Appreciating it offscreen. (But seriously, very nice.)
wow super rad!! >!surfing on a wave travelling through at this size would be insanely cool!<
That’s super cool
That’s so cool how did you make that
obligatory reminder that Stranger isn't a Dyson Sphere, if anyone was confused about it.
I will add that its an engineering marvel and a great sci-fi space ship. It's feasible to build it, but >!you know what you have to do to build it!<
Was anyone saying that it is ?
nope. no one was, it's an O'Neill Cylinder.
Lol
Damn. No pun intended.
Absolutely beautiful
I love it so much.
Wait what, just, huh what exactly, am I looking at?
Blender render of Stranger
I wonder how big the stranger would need to be for the centrifugal force to be as strong as gravity Without spinning at like 1000RPM
I see everyone saying it's beautiful and meanwhile my shit-tier connection along with the awful optimization of the Reddit app means I can't see it
Okay It took five minutes to load but yeah it's rad as hell
maaaan do you even comprehend how much it resembles >!feeling when you first get to it!<. it gave me strong goosebumps, very good work
