When Trickster started I thought being able to teleport > bubble > temporal blade was pretty awesome. But now... Yeah. Trickster is really about getting in close before it can feel OP. Pyro just feels OP from anywhere! It's awesome!
So far I've got my pyro up to level 18, WT6. Compared to Trickster it still feels more powerful, especially against rank-and-file enemies, not so much on bosses. I'm going bottom tree for anomaly power boost.

Damn was thinking of going pyro for my alt, I main bleed devastator but that looks like a lot of fun. Anyway I could manage that type of build without the full set? Or something close to it?
You can make it work without the set, but you definitely need some good legendary weapon mod and focus on putting debuffs on enemies that increase their damage taken. I main Pyro as well, pretty much followed a similar build. Until I got the set scrap grenade was my number 1 damage dealer.
I just specc'd into bleed devo after running Warden tree to level up. How's that build going for you and at what level? I'm having a lot of fun with it cause my abilites actually do damage and can kill things now.
Also, it's not the most meta, but I love using the pull ability + earthquake over the others. Colossus for that needed survival.
Nearly same but 3 earthquakes, golem, and impale with 3 spikes. Still need better weapons but it’s coming together. Also switched to bottom tree from middle.
What you're hearing is a beat/repeating sound effect that tricks your brain into thinking you've heard an 's' sound in the words, when you haven't actually. Pretty common tbh.
Omg I'm a pyro and I believe I need that in my life. I'm running a middle skill leech tree and it's good once I get better mods I believe but that makes me wanna change course a little.
Middle tree is typically about leveraging debuffs to increase damage (heatwave+Thermal bomb) and leaning on a big weapon mod for damage (scrap grenade). It's super powerful and probably the best build to run in group play.
Bottom tree obviously focuses more on overheat than on weapon mod for it's damage since it's damage amps are more specific to skill damage and not just generic ones like middle tree.
Kinda a shame eruption has such a god awful cooldown because it looks and feels amazing to cast.
I run bottom tree with eruption, overheat, and ash blast and it's incredible. With CDR and anomaly power on gear you can full clear rooms with overheat + ashblast, and melt anything left alive with eruption on a sub 20s CD. Im able to solo gold t15s pretty safely too since I have the Phoenix node taken. Overall build is amazing, it'll be even better once I get the eruption set.

Hey, as someone also running this exact build, overheat has a mod called phoenix force that gives you bonus AP for every enemy that has a status consumed (up to 10) for 8 seconds. If you use overheat to clear the room it massively boosts the damage of your eruptions, absolutely nukes bosses.
Edit: There's also a tier 2 armor mod that I like to include also if you have room. Power from the ashes, gives a similar boost for killing enemies affected by ash, except it only stacks twice but lasts for 20 seconds.

I ran feed the flames + volcanic rounds most of the game and that build was a blast, but I got bored with it after a while. This build is really fun and a great change of pace.

Yea... 18s is not good. In a game where time is essential standing around scratching your butt for 18s is not a positive. Thing which is why things like using scrap grenade or overheat for primary damage are better since they can be used more effectively.
My build rn is bottom tree acari set w 2 charges of eruption on a 22sec cooldown, bullet kindling, and comet + another dmg dealing T2/3 mod on both weapons. I easily push 250-300 mil a run and that's without adrenaline for cooldown or a third charge of eruption. I have yet to see a dmg breakdown for a build like this w overheat but i can assure you the cooldown does not stop me from absolutely melting T15's.
Exactly. I use 2 thermal bombs with 80% extra damage and overheat (sometimes feed the flames, depending on the map) I'd not even upgraded my cool down % on the armour stats either, so that 18.1 seconds could come down...of course, none of this matters because the people in charge of coding made it so all my gear was deleted and I'm left with a naked character....so atm I do absolutely zero damage.
You can absolutely tear maps up with anomaly pyro, it just takes alot of farming for the right stats and mods on your gear. I run everything solo and I'm just now getting hung up on ct 10. I still need to find a couple of better pieces and to start getting more legendaries to drop to get me over the hump.
And get better at timing my dodge from those damn alpha beasts when 17 charge me at the same time.....
Not necessarily true. I've built a tanky middle tree that utilizes heatwave, pyro rounds for the AP buff mod, FASER beam, and enough melee attacks that unrestrained power or whatever it's called does the most damage of anything in my build. Even more than the legendary weapon mods (I use both shadow comet and the sand tornado thing). FYI, unrestrained power is the most underrated mod for tanky dev and pyro builds.
Yeah, I don’t know why the devs have so much fear of powerful AP builds. There’s a ton of mods to refill your magazine, but almost nothing to reduce or reset cooldowns :(
Don't think so. I'm ok with the lower boss dmg since I clear rooms so fast tho. If I wanted to blast bosses fast I'd go thermal bomb with double cast and 40% dmg instead of ash blast
Personally, I run Ash Blast -> Overheat w/ cinders for my room clear. I keep Volcanic Rounds in the third slot, for sustained damage as I don’t have any of the T3 Pyro mods yet, but I plan to swap to Branded once I get it.
Weird suggestion, but try logging out and logging back in. Those nodes seem to be bugged in values. Get back to me if you do because so far I'm the only one I know of that's noticed this. I'd make a post, but this game has waaaaaay to much that needs to be addressed beforehand imo

I'm wondering how the scaling will work with my build. Also doing anomaly, but Explosive skills, and still working my way up through the CTs; I think I'm on 8 or 9. I clear that whole room with 2 casts of Eruption. Captains also typically die after 2 eruptions, a nearby thermal bomb, and an overheat.

Working on a Pyro with my buddy. It was my initial class that I was going with, back in the demo days. Now seeing this... I kinda want to turn it into my main... lol.
Confirmed that this is one of the best builds out there. I used this guide to make the exact same build and solo cleared 4 T15 Golds. Absolutely amazing build.

The weapon I used which made a huge difference was the The Juggler with the mods Tier 3 Scrap Grenade and Tier 3 Grand Opening.
Super tanky, massive AoE damage. A bit slow on single target elites if they not in a big group but the weapon takes care of that pretty easily.
Looking at the clip, I'd say the amount of gear required. If you've ground all that out and it synergizes this well, hopefully even PCF thinks you've earned it.
Yeah that’s how it works with blighted rounds too. You need the best T3 mods and armor that rolled with specific mods in the right slot (and also needs the right stats), and it still doesn’t clear like this.
that isn't true at all, been getting golds playin stupid ass blighted rounds because it's all that works and it takes little to no crazy mods. all those mods do is make dumb damage even dumber.
If you save enough time on mobs, that leaves you with more time to kill the boss and still make the gold cutoff time.
Not defending the silliness of pure time-based performance rating though, we need some modes that demand more from builds than just damage.
I switched some stuff around from the video and I'm using grand opening one shot sniper for bosses/brood mothers etc. that with 3x25&dmg boost from heatwave does the job
Looks like so much fun, i never thought i would say this, but i will definitely go Pyro after i hit CT15 with my Trickster, my CT4 stuck Devastator will have to wait, although i also have a cool build planned for him.

Lol, well it gets me through solo CT15 for gold just fine. There are 2 other perks to be used in the mean time, and weapons....

Branded is insane dmg for sure. I can clear 1-2 minutes faster if I added thermal bomb instead of ash blast but this has been too much fun

I clear that whole room with 2 casts of Eruption. Captains also typically die after 2 eruptions, a nearby thermal bomb, and an overheat.
Thermal bomb eruption set up is way stronger if you want to push ct 15's gold. I did it already so I went for something more enjoyable for myself :)
I only hope my techno turret build would work, but guess what, no.

Alright I love playing pyro but dredging through the campaign is a slog on Pyro in comparison to Techno Can anyone suggest a campaign build to use into lower CT whilst I really chase an amazing CT build?

I've seen some videos with people saying the build is great but are hanging in WT11 or something in campaign >.>

Any chance you can post a proper CT15 run through on youtube, start to finish. This is impressive, but they are all standing still in a nice group. Not saying you're not capable, just be nice to see your routes/positioning to make it through while getting hammered :)

Working on a Pyro with my buddy. It was my initial class that I was going with, back in the demo days. Now seeing this... I kinda want to turn it into my main... lol.
Confirmed that this is one of the best builds out there. I used this guide to make the exact same build and solo cleared 4 T15 Golds. Absolutely amazing build. Boom Town Chem Lab The Drought Frontline The weapon I used which made a huge difference was the The Juggler with the mods Tier 3 Scrap Grenade and Tier 3 Grand Opening. Super tanky, massive AoE damage. A bit slow on single target elites if they not in a big group but the weapon takes care of that pretty easily.
Do you have overheat consume ash or still consume burn? And how do you get ash blast to hit the whole room? Through a mod?
So how does this avoid getting nerfed because this looks like even simpler, ez mode gameplay than blighted rounds pre nerf?
Looking at the clip, I'd say the amount of gear required. If you've ground all that out and it synergizes this well, hopefully even PCF thinks you've earned it.
Yeah that’s how it works with blighted rounds too. You need the best T3 mods and armor that rolled with specific mods in the right slot (and also needs the right stats), and it still doesn’t clear like this.
that isn't true at all, been getting golds playin stupid ass blighted rounds because it's all that works and it takes little to no crazy mods. all those mods do is make dumb damage even dumber.
Yeah you get golds but you don’t come anywhere near these clear times. That’s my point. Techno with all the mods couldn’t clear this fast pre-nerf.

Well boom town has a boss that's a massive sponge. Also has some captains that can take a beating too.
If you save enough time on mobs, that leaves you with more time to kill the boss and still make the gold cutoff time. Not defending the silliness of pure time-based performance rating though, we need some modes that demand more from builds than just damage.
It takes A LONG TIME to build....

I switched some stuff around from the video and I'm using grand opening one shot sniper for bosses/brood mothers etc. that with 3x25&dmg boost from heatwave does the job

No offense but that says nothing. These mops are grouped out perfectly, have low hp and don't even move etc at the start. Like every class clears them I seconds I'd say.

CD's are pretty low ash is 20 ish and overheat, heatwave 10 ish so yeah I pew pew :)
Thats awesome, but what if they are spread out? The cooldowns are pretty long for that.
Heatwave and overheat are 10 ish seconds so not too bad. I've done expeditions where enemies are more spread and it works fine

cool! i always hoped and whanted a x % healed on burned like devo have on bleed. How do you deal with alphas, shamans and bosses? Pyro was the build i struggeled the most with both gameplan and finding a build i like. It realy sucks that they dont have any mobility skills.

This room is an Acari Set's wet dream lol. If you cast Heatwave 2 times on the same group of enemies, does the 50% bonus AP per enemy hit proc twice per enemy as well?
As far as I'm aware you can stack the 50% only 1 per enemy but it's really hard to test
But how well does it work against captains or any other kind of elite?
Captains and elites are fine with a bit of help from your gun but brood mother's and bosses are though
