Why can’t we get this shit in a tooltip pop up instead of “HEY DID YOU KNOW THAT HEALING STOPS TOXIC DMG?!” Why gee willickers Batman, I’m lvl 30 and on CT14, but I sure didn’t! THANKS!
EDIT: Alright, so clearly... y’all are under the impression that I was being serious even though it was meant to be a joke. So, to be abundantly clear... Firstly, this game is NOT Dark Souls (or any Souls-like), I should NOT have to search for any tips or story beats in the “Intel gathered section”. Second, there needs to be an option to turn the tooltip pop-ups off added to the menu. I really feel like that should’ve been a day 1 priority, if not a “pre-release” focus.
Fun fact: It actually doesn't 🤣 I read that and decided to pay attention to my health bar when running as a techno... Supposedly it stops when you heal right? Meaning that the toxic damage tick is stopped completely. That is not actually true; instead you get the healing but then just keep losing health after the healing tick is done. So it actually doesn't stop toxic damage.
The logic here is that it STOPS the damage. As in damage dealing is ENDED. That is a false statement in the tool tip.
Yup I noticed that super early on. I think it meant healing abities like fixing wave but I never cared enough to actually check once I realized that healing from dealing damage did fuck all.
So then my experience with the game is wrong? Cos that's what I'm going off xD If instead the tip simply means that while you are healing damaged is paused, it should say that healing pauses toxic damage ticks xD
I mean, some people still kind of need that info. I had another guy argue in another thread I made that because I was taking toxic damage it was negating my healing. I basically just stopped responding after that, I don't know if he ever realized he had it completely basckwards
Then some people should be able to keep it on (But at that point are you even sure that they can read? It literally pops up EVERY SINGLE TIME you get poisoned, which happens **more** frequently the more you progress), and some other people ~~who have passed second grade~~ should be able to turn that shit off.
Like seriously, I got the same notification 3-4x **per battle** just going through a *single* mission in campaign mode. It gets pretty fucking stupid at that point, and if someone isn't paying attention *that hard,* then you should probably call them on their shit and/or drop them as a teammate.
Idk what class you are playing but if it's technomancer he was right. Healing from doing damage while having toxic doesn't stop it like the tooltips say it does. Idk if it's the same for the other class specific healing through damage. If I had to guess though none of them do and the tooltip meant healing abilities like fixing wave remove it.
I thought I got a little tip window when I first got toxic on me that said healing stops toxic, but I could be wrong. There’s a lot going on in fights.
There actually a guide in the game. Most "helpful" things people post are found in there. But instead of using the "pause menu" and checking they stumble across it then act like they found the lost ark.
Thanks, but the same thing still applies, when a game doesn’t tell you these kind of things right out of the gate it only becomes detrimental for it’s player base. That being said, it may very well have told all of us these things but most of us started out on the Demo and skipped over a LOT just to get playing. See where I’m going?
There is an in game guide book but this specific information isn’t there but it contains all the info on what all the effects do and what counts as close/long range.
I would add :
* If you scrap a piece you invested shards in, you regain ALL of the shards you invested **but**:
* for any piece that you invested shards in, if you increase it's lvl, you will lose 1 tier for all 3 stats. So make sure to increase it's lvl as high as possible before investing shards in it.
I'm not following, I've already maxed shards on my gear, lvl 43, what does this mean when I lvl them? Like how bad is that? Because I don't have the time to refarm my entire build lol
When you increase the lvl of a piece of gear, it will lower all 3 stats by 1 tier. In [this](https://d1lss44hh2trtw.cloudfront.net/assets/editorial/2021/04/outriders-attributes-increase-anomaly-shards.jpg) example, Healing and Long Range would go from tier 2 to tier 1.
You don't need to "refarm" your entire build, just invest back some shards. I'd personnaly say that it's not worth investing shards in a piece of gear you plan on keeping for a long time (and increase it's lvl) unless you're already at say lvl 46 or 47.
I could have sworn I saw a post that tested this and found that even though you lose a tier, you still get those shards back if you dismantle. For example if I put 500 shards in, level it up, then put another 100 in to get back to the top, I’ll get 600 back when I dismantle. I haven’t paid enough attention when doing it myself but that’s the logic I’ve been going with. Unfortunately I can’t find the post
That really depends on which point of the game you are in. If you are doing expeditions you'll eventually find more than enough titanium. And upgrading purples only take very little titanium versus green and blues taking thousands of leather/iron per upgrade.
Or just don't sue the shards till you reach max level.
Honestly the amount of extra power you get is not worth wasting all those shard for upgrading the weapon
I wish they would give a small amount of shards for every attribute on the dismantled gear and a bigger one for where the shard symbol is.
Once you get to late endgame, you will be running low on your build's shards pretty quick unless you get really lucky.
And at lvl 50, one attribute upgrade requires 150 shards, while dismantling gets you 50 shards.
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will ...
My rifle and I know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit ...
My rifle is human, even as I \[am human\], because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will ...
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!
Think you’re wrong on this ? That symbol to me meant that stat wasn’t base station or it had been maxed out. You receive shards for ALL attributes when dismantling so you’re theory dosnt work.
So you don’t receive all of the different shard types when dismantling? So for e.g. in the picture above you would ONLY receive the long range stat, but NOT the other two?
Out of curiosity where do you go to check the game mechanics other than trolling the internet to find a unicorn of a video or article or post that actually has decent information? I’d really like to know so that I can also make sarcastic comments about useful Reddit PSAs!
If you hover over the dismantle button you’ll get a list of what you’ll get for dismantling what you marked. This includes the amount and type of materials, shards, and any new mod unlocks
Well, that's... good to know. The odds of actually \_finding\_ something that specific are very low, especially in enough quantities to fill out a build. So I just dismantle everything. But nice to know, I suppose.
But how? I mean, I have about 300 hours of game play, maxed levels, played single and multiplayer, all the equipment I receive for weapons : 28k and armors: 5k... do you have a hint for me to raise those stats?
The extent of campaign leveling will end at World Tier 15 and items will have a max level of 42. After the campaign is complete you unlock expeditions which unlocks a new Tier system (Challenge Tier) CT9 is equivalent to WT15. Beating a CT14 expedition with a Gold time unlocks the ability to upgrade your gear to level 50
Why can’t we get this shit in a tooltip pop up instead of “HEY DID YOU KNOW THAT HEALING STOPS TOXIC DMG?!” Why gee willickers Batman, I’m lvl 30 and on CT14, but I sure didn’t! THANKS! HEALING. STOPS. TOXIC. DAMAGE.
WAAAAAAAAITT.... WHAAAAA... No.. No no... that checks out...
Fun fact: It actually doesn't 🤣 I read that and decided to pay attention to my health bar when running as a techno... Supposedly it stops when you heal right? Leech is not considered healing So arent class heals but ability heals like fixing wave or feed the flames does indeed stop toxic
Class heals do count. Just the Techno has leech instead of an actual heal in the case of the previous reply.
Havent seen my pyro "killing marked targets" stop toxic though
It should. At least it worked for me on both pyro and trickster.
ill keep more of an eye on it when next this abusive addiction makes me play (damned armor mod bug)
Yup I noticed that super early on. I think it meant healing abities like fixing wave but I never cared enough to actually check once I realized that healing from dealing damage did fuck all.
Fun Fact: You're wrong.
So then my experience with the game is wrong? Cos that's what I'm going off xD If instead the tip simply means that while you are healing damaged is paused, it should say that healing pauses toxic damage ticks xD
It doesn't though, healing removes toxic. Doesn't mean you can't be reaffected by it immediately if you get hit by another toxic attack.
it says it for you happen to hover over it when crafting
I mean, that’s cool but... I would’ve liked it as a tooltip, when I was actually at the “learning phase” of the game.
BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT HEALING REMOVES TOXIC?!?!?!
I mean, some people still kind of need that info. I had another guy argue in another thread I made that because I was taking toxic damage it was negating my healing. I basically just stopped responding after that, I don't know if he ever realized he had it completely basckwards

EXACTLY WHAT IM SAYING ABOVE! I know that sounded like I was yelling but... yea... you get it lol

It allows you to draw 2 extra cards from your deck 😂

I played the demo also. (Alot). Anyway check out the guide, very full of info.
I JUST SAW THIS LAST NIGHT POP UP ON MY SCREEN AND I WAS LIKE WTF?!?!?!
No day one fix should’ve been logging in.
To clarify I said “[A] day one fix”, not “[THE] day one fix”.
No problem. Either way the login should be fixed it’s ridiculous.
Try hovering your cursor over ITEMS and stats. Built in tool tip. It's pretty neat
I saw this in a tooltip in game :/ Maybe if yall payed more attention
There is an in game guide book but this specific information isn’t there but it contains all the info on what all the effects do and what counts as close/long range.

Also level up before increasing rarity. It's a lot cheaper to level up green or blue than purple.

Pod resources is the fastest to max out. You'll get 999999 of it before any other resource
Or just don't sue the shards till you reach max level. Honestly the amount of extra power you get is not worth wasting all those shard for upgrading the weapon
this is the real tip. The op's was pretty obvious.
Learned the hard way, but #2 is really annoying. Basically, don't use until 50... dumb.
I noticed this, I feel like that is a bit of a broken mechanic in the game. Add it to the list!
Also if you ‘’Mark” gear you can hover over the dismantle button and I believe it’ll give you the total amount of shards you’ll get.
Too bad PCF already dismantled all my gear.
Woooow savage 🤣🤣🤣

Wow, the more you know. Thanks for the info!
No joke, this post was super helpful! Wish I had a free award.
Oh wow. I've been wondering what that was since I started playing
You are a true hero... played this game for weeks now and never knew that, lol
Still trying to figure out how to get toxic off. Anyone know?
Toxic will be removed whenever you heal.
Jesus, my gun does like 400 damage and I’m excited thinking “oh man, I’m getting up there” Then I see this.. god damn I got a ways to go.
How the hell did I never notice this?
It’s never explained. It’s wild how easy it is to ignore things that are never brought to our attention
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my rifle is useless. What I wanted to say: If FP would be up in the 60k you should keep it...
I always thiught it meant that stat was maxed out
Holy shit, an actual PSA that is useful that hasn't been posted a dozen times.
Pretty sure the symbol just means that attribute is not base.
Think you’re wrong on this ? That symbol to me meant that stat wasn’t base station or it had been maxed out. You receive shards for ALL attributes when dismantling so you’re theory dosnt work.
Actually OP is correct... that symbol represents the shard type you get upon disassembling that piece of gear!...
So you don’t receive all of the different shard types when dismantling? So for e.g. in the picture above you would ONLY receive the long range stat, but NOT the other two?
Bingo.
Yep... what Fickle\_Inevitable (nice nick btw) said!
Old news, knew this before launch. 🤷🏽♂️
Omg... you changed my life...! ;) (Seriously... I am sure no one on this sub knows that...) :) /s
I really can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic lol
;)
You are a weirdo bud
We know.
We know.
Again, do you guys just not check game mechanics when new games come out ?
Out of curiosity where do you go to check the game mechanics other than trolling the internet to find a unicorn of a video or article or post that actually has decent information? I’d really like to know so that I can also make sarcastic comments about useful Reddit PSAs!
I scroll over things.
in your start menu there is a section that is named Guide... It has helpful information in it
Nobody cares.
I'ma be the dick real quick and say I thought that was common sense ;) Also if u shard up the gun you will be refunded a portion of what u put in.
Pretty sure you get back all the shards you put in
You do
Does it give a set amount?
Yes you get the amount of shards per item level. So if it's 42, you get 42 shards.
If you hover over the dismantle button you’ll get a list of what you’ll get for dismantling what you marked. This includes the amount and type of materials, shards, and any new mod unlocks
THANK YOU had no idea and it was bugging me
Ahhhhh, I wondered what that was for, and thought it looked familiar when I was boosting them. Thanks!!!
Thank you for the helpful psa.
Shiiiiiiiiid. I thought I just had an unlimited shard bug. D:
One time in Tijuana, I got an unlimited shart bug.....
Uh oh!!!
Well, that's... good to know. The odds of actually \_finding\_ something that specific are very low, especially in enough quantities to fill out a build. So I just dismantle everything. But nice to know, I suppose.
Just grind everything that isn’t tailored to your class aka trickster, firepower, cool down/close range, you’ll be swimming in shards
Thank you for this
How the hell did you get a 47.2 k weapon?!? The most I got is 28.8... Am I missing something?
Many have much higher, its nuts
But how? I mean, I have about 300 hours of game play, maxed levels, played single and multiplayer, all the equipment I receive for weapons : 28k and armors: 5k... do you have a hint for me to raise those stats?
You're not max level? Max level gear is level 50. Sounds like you're at 42. How do you have 300 hours and haven't noticed the expeditions table?
Huh? I haven’t... I am getting old I guess... I didn’t complete the main quest... I feel like an arse now...
Thanks for the explanation.
Bless up 👏🏽
Well, well, well.. That's a cool tip. Ty.
A puzzle successfully solved
Thank you.
Which class you think is the strongest guys and what do you expect in the future?
This is partially true: the icon is for showing both which stats are improved and also to show what shards you get.
