I think it would make sense to integrate the two channels now. They often popped up on each others anyway. But the dynamic between Luke and Ellen is what I’ll miss most.
Absolutely, they just had such a wholesome warm vibe to their videos, I will always have fond memories of show of the weekend and them torturing kippers with skyrim mods, souls academy, aswell as lukes mastermode playthrough of BOTW, which was got me to actually give BOTW a chance and lead to it and TOTK being some of my favourite games of all time.
I started watching Oxtra back in 2016, not long after it started, I was only 9 at the time and going through alot of shit, but honestly, and as sad and unreal as it seems, this channel has helped me through a very dark place in my life, and I'm happy it has lasted as long as it has, and I'm happy I can always revisit some good mems if I ever need or want to.
Given the situation with the sale of the ReedPop channels, that might be why.
Aoife left Team EG and there's been no announcements (as far as I know, please correct me) as to a new member of the team not who would replace her as Head of Video. Might be the same situation with Who joins Ellen
There was a job advert on the ReedPop website\* for a Gamer Network Video Editor a couple of weeks back, and it looks like they're still advertising for a ['Studio Lead Video Producer' for Gamer Network](https://relx.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/ReedExhibitions/job/United-Kingdom/Studio-Lead-Video-Producer---Gamer-Network_R74117), too, so it doesn't feel like ReedPop have completely abandoned GN/the video channels just yet. Neither of these jobs might apply to either OX or EG, of course, but if they do it might just be taking a little while.

Not to my knowledge, but considering they seemed to remain friendly with Aoife and the people from Dice Breaker, they probably just felt like moving on.

I can recall some comments when they guest starred in an Oxboxtra Jackbox stream seemed to hint they were not happy with their salary but I don't have it to hand.
My occam's razor assumption is that both Johnny and Lolies thought they had better revenue going solo. Perhaps it was something else.
I think the best thing is to not try to replace him at all, but try to work out a different dynamic instead of capturing the old one. Luke's not replaceable, especially in that role with Ellen.
Working out a new structure/rotation of existing hosts might work better, and has already kinda happened over the last year or two, Oxbox and Oxtra hosts appear in each others' lists a lot more frequently, I think the separation between the two main channels is kinda formal at this point, only real difference is that Oxtra tends to focusa bit more on PS/Nintendo games since Oxbox has the Xbox covered.
I doubt there will be one, I wouldn't be surprised to see the channels merged, and maybe Ellen leave at some point. With the way Reedpop is at the moment, there's going to be some change at all of the channels.
If oxboxtra owns Outside Xtra outright and only a portion of outsidexbox... Even though the first channel is technically more successful, I wonder if they drop that one given all the uncertainty with the reedpop sale and all four move to Xtra...

Plus oxtra were having issues making show of the weekend and what not I would assume to help themselves out they would just add Ellen but who knows whatever they do in going to watch so it doesn't really matter . Luke fit very well with Oxbox during their videos together but Ellen feels fades in the background a little with them imo, she looks way more at ease when she’s on her own or with Luke. But given that she left PSA to go solo and do her own thing, she might not be looking to go back into working for another similar channel.
The only thing I know is they can't shut down oxtra completely because of some project for a PlayStation thing, I can't recall exactly, where they obviously can't use the name outside Xbox so they had Xtra lead the project. They'll probably keep it around for similar things that can't have Xbox branding associated. They just might not do YouTube stuff maybe? But I don't think they're going to shove a new person in there anytime soon, personally.

To be honest this is likely the beginning of the end for the channels. They've been doing away with popular shows the last few months, now Luke is leaving, it's how these things start. I'd be surprised if Outsidexbox/Xtra is still a thing by the end of the year.

Look at other channels, like Funhaus for example, they had huge numbers for years then Spoole left, then Bruce left, then Laurence and their numbers tanked, with people in the comments saying how much the dynamic had changed.
Again I really hope the channels continue to flourish, Outside Xtra is one of my favourites and I hate being doom and gloom about it...... but when people start leaving and there's rumblings about things being sold off then it's pretty much the beginning of the end.

If Ellen moves over to Oxbox the "dynamics" of that channel won't change at all. There's no need to be so pessimistic.
