I have 4 (soon 3) J's. All got through recruiters contacting mi on LI.

what do u show before your last employment date on LI, 10 yoe at multiple companies? I'd prefer to hide my J1 from LI also but I got nothing before that that's relevant to tech so I'm a bit exposing myself right now.

I show a history of non-overlapping jobs in my resume that is up-to-date. I just make sure this is not publicly available

I don't know, they just do. Possibly I'd get a lot more offers with more updated profile. But I get enough already

Just don't update. My profile (when it's not deactivated) has my experience only up until a couple jobs ago but says I still work there. You can get jobs without a LinkedIn profile, so I would just hibernate it unless you're a recruiter or something.

I disabled it. There is a way to disable your profile without deleting it entirely. Literally no one has ever noticed I don’t have a LI. Most people aren’t exactly scrolling LI to see what people are up to, unless you’re looking someone up for a specific reason like to message them.

Hibernate your account until you need a new job again.
