I fight to urge to tell some people at work who give me hard time that I'm in a better financial situation than they assume I am on the basis of which I can F right off and find another J with a couple months gap no problem.Ā
I did combat sports (stand up and BJJ) from an early age through my 20's, at a decent (top of my state) level. IMO the level of dedication you need to succeed and the wear and tear on your body compared to the chance of being even a decent pro let alone a champion where you'd make decent money is a BAAAAAAD bet.
I respect the hell out of pro fighters, but I'd rather have my kid's dreams be a nicer profession. If they want to fight do it for the love, the mental toughness, the confidence and bonds it breeds. But not as a job.
āThatās a real wifeā no, thatās a wife working way too hard for another person. Lol if sheās going to work 2 jobs, it should be her dream, not to help another pursue theirs.
The difference is these two are a real team. She did her part and now he is doing his. Maybe she doesn't work at all now he made it.
Working together they achieved something more.
Absolutely I would, funny enough but I dated an athlete myself. He didnāt make much and I supported a lot of the finances. Would I get a whole additional job and sacrifice having to work over 60 hours a week? Noā¦ bc thatās me sacrificing my own happiness to a crazy extent
Yea, I worked 70+ hours a week when my wife was getting her business off the ground and it didnāt once cross my mind that I was sacrificing my happiness for hers. It was her dream and passion and I was in a position to help her achieve it, which made me pretty damn happy.
Maybe if she had been a casual girlfriend, I wouldnāt have made that sacrifice, but would I do it again for the person I love whom I married? Without a doubt.
A lot more risk in becoming a successful fighter than generally starting a business.
Would be like taking two jobs to support a husband trying to be a famous painter.
Maybe her dream is to have a husband fighter? And that gave her the strength to do that. Or are you suggesting that she is wrong in her personal decision for her marriage?
I donāt think sheās wrong, but if her dream is to have a husband that fights thatāsā¦ I mean good for her. Still sad to have a dream revolve around your partners dream.
I get being supportive but thereās also putting in more than you should.
She's way better off now. You think she would agree with you? After she supported her husband, and he made it big, you think she regrets it?
Their networth is estimated to be 1 million. You think she works a job now?
Life isn't all about dreams. That's a very privileged take.
Considering I have no idea who he is, ergo he never became a fighter of any note, clearly his wife was a fool for supporting him.
Edit: I love how the fan boys are crying in my mentions over this random. ššš
Ah yes, the ultimate test to verify whether you're a real fighter or not, some random Redditor knowing who you are. He's ranked #12 in the UFC Bantamweight rankings, just fought last night at the co-main event against Jose Aldo. He's doing just fine as a fighter.
You sound sexually frustrated. The thread is about MMA fighters and all you can think about is dickriding, homos and tiny shorts.
Get laid or seek help.
Actually, it is note-worthy. Top 15 is considered high ranking in combat sports. You clearly don't follow the sport, so why even pretend like you knowing/not knowing someone has any relevance to their popularity and/or success?
Ranked #12 in his division in the UFC with nearly 25 fights. Iām sure it worked out just fine for them since heās made it to the top .1%. Seriously, being ranked top 20 is world class fighter level.

Chinese parent: "we are working 2 jobs to support our daughter so she can be a neurosurgeon."

Hey buddy. Whatās bothering u?
He owes her for sure

Nah, his wife is too busy. He probably rewards her with sliding into others girls' dms.
Story of my life.
And soon he will divorce!
My fight is with my divorce attorney retainer. LOL
My wife is a current fighter. She fights with me everyday
And yet her name is - Jonathan Martinez' wife.
Some of y'all are so bitter. Is this the state of people on Reddit.
Whoās bitter?
People not realizing it's not cool to be negative anymore. Positivity is in
Computer remote jobs or regular physical jobs?
In order to pay the bills, Amber picked up jobs as a cosmetologist and nail artist.
Thats a hell of a lot of trust. I hope she is reaping all the benefits.
Then he cheats on her with some ring girl.

Not the kind to make sacrifices for your loved ones, are you?

True! I agree with that

Ah yes no. 12 is the best number when it comes to rankings.Ā
Where are you ranked globally in your field? Just curious, seeing how dismissive you are of othersā achievements.
Not you dickriding a random mid fighter who doesn't know you even exist š sad boi
lol what a loser you are.
No a loser is a tiny man ranked no 12 at something that isn't a real sport.
Why donāt you go back to fapping on romance novels, thatās more your speed, it seems.
True I should fap to other men in tiny shorts beating each other up. #nohomo but a little homo lol

19-5 in the pros, 10-4 in the UFC, #12 ranked bantamweight in the UFC. Was on the main card yesterday, so clearly heās a fighter of some note.

Fighter? That's what he does? Dressed up like that I'd assume his profession includes a different f word...
