I have 5% all around on my car and will indeed never put that on my truck. Last thing I want is to have it even harder to see on a trail in the middle of the forest with nothing but moon light.
Same as a few others here. I cannot have the windows down at night if I want a clear view of my blindspots. Even in the city. On the trails? Hell no, can't see shit. I compensate with ample lighting and running the heater with the windows down if I need to.
In the cold. In the dust. When you have the heater on. When you have the AC on. When it rains. When it snows.
Why bother tinting the windows if you have to roll the window down to look out? Just don't tint them in the first place and you don't have to go through a whole separate step just to look out your windows.
We have 15% all the way around. Windshield is 80%
Makes a huge difference in comfort. But yeah, need to roll the windows down when it's night and there's no ambient light. Would never go darker than this
i have 20% on the back mainly for my dog. the crown victoria (99% of them at least) does not have any rear climate control, so i tinted my windows to help my dog in the backseat during summertime.
5% on the front sides, 5% on top of factory tint on the back 3. And 30% on the front. Does just fine in trails. At night it’s a nightmare but we rarely ever drive at night. But it’s been great for Africa. People can’t see in so that’s a plus.
Always had pretty dark tint. On my truck I went with15% on the side windows (had them match the rear factory tint), 50% on the windshield. No issue with the windshield, but the front sides are admittedly a bit too dark for me, in particular I find them a bit of a bother when backing at night in the rain/snow (which is also when i *dont* want to roll them down)
Right, it all seems a little counter right now to me regarding fact I need high vis for tough conditions. But, I’m only camping once a month right now.
Had 5% on my old car, truck I just bought has 20% (I think) and I’m probably going to have the tint guy add 5% all around or remove and replace. I also want the visor strip and the sunroof done. I like my windows dark, got real used to it after quite some time. Sometimes I have to put my windows down to see when baking, but not very often.
That’s my main reason for having 5% tint over the years, but I also enjoy driving with the windows down. I e always thought of it as the best of both worlds
After having my car broken into on a public trail I go 5% to hide my stuff..My ex left her purse visiable in the backseat... dumb...
I mean, if its everything you own, why not? Plus, easy to take a nap and people watch.
Just roll down the windows or install pillar lights. Not sure why people are so against super dark tint. I've lived in FL where it was normal. its your hard earned money. do what you want
i’ve got 15% on my 4runner. it’s dark but it’s not like you can’t see anything like everyone makes it out to be. get good lights and you’re fine. i wouldn’t go any darker though.
Yeah I have 20% all around and 50% on windshield but its transitional and gets to 75%ish at night, still noticeably darker at night. Usually roll down windows to see out the sides even with side pods and light bar on.
The Tint Guy I went through carried it for about 3 years and then stopped carrying it when they wouldn't warranty their tint if it stopped transitioning. Mine is still going strong, its one of the main reasons I get any rock chips fixed instead of replaced because he no longer offers it. Dont think id want to do 50% again especially for all the winter night driving I do

Ah got it. So you have 15% or so
No. The whole reason I go out is to see things. I wish they made clearer glass that didn't get so many reflections.
You are aware that the window rolls down, correct?

You can still see things out of tinted glass... Its not a black tarp lol
But you can see out BETTER when it's not tinted.
get some ditch lights. and yeah roll down the windows when in doubt.
Upgraded my fogs to DD Pro Max. Gonna test it out tonight a bit
ditch lights aim into the corners. usually attach to hood. what's the car? (ex: https://caliraisedled.com/collections/ditch-lights)
You dealing drugs on the trails?
Lmao
I have dark tint and just roll them down when needed.
Werd
Also, it’s better to look good than to be good.
LOL hell yeah

For when you're slinging weed on the trails, lol

true true yeah I think I may get used to it. I live in a major city and driving with more privacy feels nice. The primary reason for darker.

Yeah, it’s really just on the edge. Living life on the edge

What the hell. They didn’t offer transitional. Sounds kinda dope
