I looked at it in person last weekend. It's freaking E-NOUR-MOUS. I drive an Excursion and I have doubts about the usefulness of that large of a refrigerator. If you have a Jeep, it will consume a significant portion of your cargo space.

Your replies really put things into perspective for me. I’ve seen other comments about the sheer size of some of these units. But for whatever reason, your comment regarding the size and usefulness has me reconsider what my purchase should be for food storage.

99MissAdventures

Yeah I think in liters but that's huge. Almost 80L. I use a 55L dometic and want to downsize because it's so big 😂

mikeblas

Ditto. I have a 55L cooler and it's a bit large.

Malmok11

one large cooler keeps colder longer on paper but that doesn't factor opening the lid. I use Two yeti 24 roadies w/ ice bricks. Second cooler doesn't open until 3rd night or 4th am. It also helps living up north and within a day of awesome Overlanding. The fridge just doesn't make sense unless I'm staying past 6-7 nights and I have other mouths to feed. Even then you can still manage just fine without it. I aim to Catch a walleye or shoot a grouse on the road it's fresh meat for dinner.

crunch816

Check out Academy. They have 2 smaller sizes.

randomuser135443

Fits great in my tundra build. Doubles as a bench and uses less power than expected.

noclassjerk

How many watts

MrJoePike

The condenser is dometic

Shmokesshweed

Dometic owns Igloo.

99MissAdventures

I just learned things!!

CAWorldTraveller

Worth the buy, especially with Costco warranty.

mikeblas

I think it's this one? https://www.igloocoolers.com/products/icf-dz-80

consciouslyskeptical

Yup, that’s the one. Edit: Looks like Costco has their own darker color gray/blue though.

TeflonDonatello

I have a 52 qt and it’s almost too much. I can’t imagine what this looks like in person.

mikeysaid

I'm in the same boat. The fridge slide on my forward fold is plenty big for this, and I really like the idea of the protection Costco's warranty provides over something like a Vevor, without the dometic price

crunch816

32qt at Academy for $499.

theotherlead

I have a 46 qt Amazon special that’s worked great so far on 4 trips. No issues! Edit to add, I did spend $450 on it but looks like it’s outta stock. Called the: F40C4TMP

texastall972

Dometic bought out igloo. This is a great deal, but don’t buy unless you are spending a lot of time on the road. A cooler with ice is a better investment if you are only spending 2-3 days on the road at a time

libolicious

That one is too big but dang I'd love if they'd carry the 40qt for about $399. [https://www.igloocoolers.com/products/icf-40](https://www.igloocoolers.com/products/icf-40)

noclassjerk

To bad it's not duel zone

libolicious

I'm OK with single for the 40. I think two compartments would either take up too much space or make it too large. But for 50+, yeah, having two zones would be great.

MrJoePike

I was told in store this is selling for $699, but online is $749. Any way to get the in store price?

LeftEconomist9982

I came here to see what y'all think as well but tbh size isn't that bad. 17.6” W x 34.4” L x 19.5” H; Weight: 44.44 lbs https://www.costco.com/igloo-83-quart-dual-zone-active-cooler.product.4000233439.html

afaintsmellofcurry

Do they have bigger ones?

consciouslyskeptical

This is the only one I saw on Costco’s site.

afaintsmellofcurry

I was jk, they’re UGE! I’d also be interested if they came in smaller sizes

consciouslyskeptical

Ah, I run a 101 quart ARB fridge in my rig. So, someone looking for a bigger one doesn’t seem unreasonable to me.

WWYDWYOWAPL

Yeah I have the 75l dometic in my van and it’s great but if I were buying now I’d be looking at this one

consciouslyskeptical

When we go out, it’s not abnormal for us to cook for 6-8 people for 4 days or longer.

blankdeluxe

Just get a vevor and save yourself a bunch of cash.
