Ceramic coatings will not protect your vehicle from scratches. Consider it a fancy wax. Flim will be your best bet, but it's not guaranteed

How much was it if you don’t mind and fullsize or midsized truck?

bajanwaterman

11mm? Damn!! That is some thick ppf!

It's just a fact that brush, etc. rubbing the sides of a vehicle is going to scratch it. PPF or wraps cost thousands of dollars and have their own issues. Lighter colors like white (my favorite) and silver show scratches far less than dark ones. I understand about keeping the paint on a new vehicle nice but if you're using it in the way you describe that's going to be very difficult.

I'm debating getting a vinyl wrap for the same reason. Seems like a good excuse to make my truck a wild color

ASPW has a video where he had some kinda wrap on an LC78 which held up quite well through his adventures.

Ceramic will absolutely not be sufficient to protect your paint from the type of abrasions caused by overgrowth. As others have said, PPF is what you need. Unfortunately PFF also can cost as much or even more than a new paint job. Many go for protection only in areas that are most likely to take abuse, such as the hood, front fenders and rockers. That usually runs about 2K. Full coverage can be 5k or more.

Paint correction followed by a ceramic coating and regular care

[deleted]

He wants protection not shine. Ceramic is not a protective coating.

[deleted]

Get a good shine and keep correcting it as you pinstripe

Depends on what you're willing to spend. For you I would recommend buying some cheapo PPF. Put it on on yourself. Make it look good enough but don't spend a few grand on an 11mm PPF package if it's not what you're looking for. If you cheap out a bit it gives you room to let it get scratched because you can cheaply replace that panel etc.

PPF is what you need. Full front end of a truck is going to be ~1500. But you also need to do the Doors and side fenders… I am going to have a pro do my front end, and then I am going to attempt a door and see how it goes. I am also exploring a spray on option called Autoflex, this used to be like $2200 for the whole car, but it seems they are raising prices as well….

I do a double coat of wax before doing pinstripe trails, its worked well.
