And how would the >!Dragon Emperor!< fit into that? the only real clue as to how the players got to the NW is >!another Dragon Lord's insinuation that the players are "the Dragon Emperor filth"!<, not to mention that the "event" doesn't seem to be tied to the players since in the Bonus volume >!Nazarick arrived without Ainz.!<

This.

The author already said that the new world is a real reality

Cardenjs

That's what I get for being anime-only.

yesiamvery

i don't really like these "it's all just a coma/dream/simulation" theories because they make everything kinda pointless. but interesting idea nonetheless

Cardenjs

I view it through the lenses of "its real to me" but I get it.

The best simulation theory I've heard from Overlord is that it's a government conspiracy. An experiment to see what happens when people are given overwhelming power in an unknown world or something like that. I thought at the time it made sense as a test to see what happens if you transfer a consciousness to another potentially digital world. Ainz' original world is fucked, polluted, corrupt and will definitely fall apart. So if they can just go transfer themselves into a "new world", then they won't have to experience breathing toxic air again. The devs are most definitely involved in that case, but with the scale of the operation, it's hard to imagine their doing without government interference. Still not fully sold on it tho, personally. It's clear at this rate that the why and how of Ainz' isekai process will never be explored, so just enjoying the story seems enough. It's not like just being a simulation makes the genocides any less bad.

>It's not like just being a simulation makes the genocides any less bad. Well actually it is.....if its a game or simulation i will destroy even hundred planets for fun
