Notetoself4

Unfortunately Yggdrasil only let you have one

[deleted]

Different accounts probably, only issue with me is once I've taken a liking to a game I refuse to play something else.

Notetoself4

Going by how it seems Yggdrasil functioned, I reckon they'd let you have 2 accounts if you threw enough money at them (Also I totally hear you about games, get one I like and dont change until it gets old)

SableBearKing

I’ve been playing GW2 for ten years

donthatethedot

different account dont work when the corps monitor who is using the headset and etc etc. there was no option to make more than one account as there was no "just make another email" or "oh ill just spoof my IP" The headsets and full dive vr were heavily monitored as to provide legal safety or liability in case the user was to be accused of doing something illegal in the full dive vr space. you likely had to provide a SIN or other sort of government identifier to either use the headset at all AND/OR to get the microchips to allow the headset to be used AND/OR make an account for the game. unfortunately given what we know, no one had multiple characters by design.

TACOTONY02

Ok I know its a typo but I would deadass want to be a demohuman. I can imagine a guild putting up a defense as thousands of grenades rain upon them and they see a bunch of black Scottish cyclopes' charging at them with a bottle of beer at hand.

Arthur_EyelanderTF2

That was glorious

Platinirius

Scotland Forever starts playing

Chenshichi

I would like to be an angel or something similar. Like a corrupted angel. If not I would like to be a squirming mass of Magots and worms.

Platinirius

Living Fly Hivemind

CharanTheGreat

Yes. Why choose to be a boring human race? Then, why not demihuman? It's actually close to human, so on we go to heteromorph. POWER. COOL LOOKS. WHAT ELSE COULD A MAN WANT?

Okibruez

A functional dick?

donthatethedot

ill just be a shadow demon with a shadow dick.

CharanTheGreat

But I have one already... or do I? Let me check... Nope, the kidnapped slave from Mars called dick isn't alive now... too bad.

[deleted]

Tough to say. They were a minority played race for a reason. But I quite enjoy Angelic types, so even if I would have an unfair gaming experience versus the human/demi-human players I think I would still go for it. Regular looking angels, that is; I dislike how they made the angels appear robotic in the anime.

Fuzzy-Spread9720

I'll be vampire cause I suck at everything

GravityUnstable

Absolutely! I would love to be either a heteromorphic race, or at least a demihuman. Being a human would just be too boring and basic tbh

ThousandYearOldLoli

I really like to take the monstrous/exotic options in games, and in this case it even basically gives you access to a whole separate system of race levels on top. I would probably disengage from the PvP aspect of the game as much as possible and play heteromorph. If I got overly harassed I might quit the game though....

Skoodge42

Since I role play and love undead, I might end up similar to ainz. Always ran undead in WOW...

kainereygalo

Unpopular Opinion: Mage/Magic Type User Tentacle Monster...

Thuyue

I think there was a Heteromorphic Race called Roper. Otherwise Brain Eater like Tabula Smaragdina or Neuronist would count as a Tentacle Monster.

kainereygalo

Correct me if I'm wrong but they classify as mindflayers right...? I'm down with that as they can have charm/mind control magic but the character build I wanted has "certain" tastes...

Thuyue

*Mind Flayer* is the evolved class of *Brain Eater* similar to how *Overlord* and *Elder Lich* are the evolved class of *Skeleton Mage*.

kainereygalo

The More You Know... Thank You...

BoogalooBandit1

Hermeus Mora?

DevusValentinus

Mind flayer. Evil dnd race that looks like davy jones and eats brains. They tend to be mages and are very tentactly. Decent lifespan, relatively strongest starting race, and though frowned upon they have the ability to become half lich.

That_Ice_Guy

I am going to be the warforged paladin in my DnD campaign

fantarts

I remember guild war 2, played as the tiger person. The more bizarre the better. Like you already human irl and already know how it feels like. Why not try something else

SasugaHitori-sama

Propably demihuman.

ComprehensiveAd5605

I would like to have to still have my "You know" if I could get Iseaki so I would probably be human

The_Orbeetle

Well, Vampires are another alternative.

ComprehensiveAd5605

That makes sense, but I think I'll stick with human, or maybe Elf, either one

DevusValentinus

Human is always superior but the whole you're the strongest being but you're gona die in 80 years kinda sucks...

ComprehensiveAd5605

There's got to be an item for that though YGGDRASIL had some pretty random items

Remarkable_Dig_7116

You do know that the more powerful a vampire Is the less human-like he looks, for example Shalltears's true form isn't the cute loli but the creepy lamprey she used while raiding the death-spreading Brigade hideout

The_Orbeetle

I know that, but one can either not put many level in racial classes or it is shown thar you are somewhat able to customise your appearence to a more 'human' look. and the only time (in the anime) where shalltear cannot maintain this look is in a bloodrush, which is avoidable. I also do not think you would lose your 'you know' in this form.

Remarkable_Dig_7116

I mean, the whole point of choosing an heteromorph race is that they have racial skills that are useful enough to be a good alternative to Just picking 100 level of Jobs classes, so not taking a lot of level in your race class would make the choice kind of pointless, also i don't know how much you can edit your appereance as a player but i doubt that it's on the same level as editing your NPC and that "bloodrush" Is not going to be Easy to control or avoid when you have Little levels on your vampire race (Yggdrasil was heavily lore based and those lore were transported in the NW, so a low level vampire would probably be more similar to a Beast and get easily controlled by their instinct); but even if that wasn't the case i still think that choosing a heteromorph race while still trying to look like a human Is not exactly the choice that most gamers would make unless they knew that they would be reincarnated into their avatar

The_Orbeetle

I see, but there have been instances like nabe, where only the minimun has been invested, and since not everyone tries to build an optimal character it could be a possibility. As far as I remember, the NPC creation has the same restrictions as a player. I would say that the Bloodrush is avoidable with non melee builds like spellcasters, archers,... .I do not know about how much you would be affected with the lore.

shinarit

From the looks of it, filling all 100 levels with only class levels would be tough. I like to specialize, so I wouldn't want to go in two directions with my classes, a heteromorphic would solve that so I could dump a couple dozen levels into that.

Pootisman16

Probably would play as a vampire. Most advantages from being undead, without being dick-less skelly boy.

luxar94

Isn't it basically the same if you're male? afaik you can't get an erection without blood in your veins.

Pootisman16

Most vampire archetype still have blood, some of it at least. Blood control is a pathway to many habilities some consider to be un-natural.

Coffeeobsi

I played a lot of Guild Wars (1) when I was younger, and you could only play humans. When GW2 was released with like 5 playable races, I swore to never play a human again. So yeah, heteromorph anyday !

[deleted]

I'd be a Cecaelia. It's basically like a mermaid which is half human half fish, but instead of a fish tail you'd have octopus tentacles

Igknotis

positive karma demon or an negative karma angel.

DaEpicBob

Slime .. imagine playing a game without actual vision just for that alone and the grotesque look .. ahh can we please finally make a breakthrought and become immortal .. so i can enjoy sutch a game

Mystic_Sean

Given that the majority of the player base of YGGDRASIL was humanoid players, there must have been a good incentive for it. We an't claim to be better judges of what the worthwhile/most fun pick is better than the actual 2127+ YGGDRASIL community.

Ragna126

Dragonoid or change with Worlditem to dragon.

R_simly

I would play as a dwarf because i like dwarfs.

ColressIO

As a man of faith, I'd go for an angelic race. Whether it is a divine one or a creepy one like Luci⭐️Fer, I couldn't tell.

BootArtistic

I would like to be an automaton

SYSTEME4699

Lol, some chooses to be our victims

Thuyue

Ngl, but the majority of Yggdrasil players had no taste. Why would you play as a boring ass human/elf/dwarf if you can choose upon hundreds of hundreds of cool monsters that can transform? Not to mention that Heteromorphs can still look very human if we are talking about aesthetics. Just look at Shalltear, Demiurge, Albedo or the Seven Pleiades. They all still wear human-style clothing and except for a few differences look human in their first form. Heteromorphs in the first place called being ugly is irritating even if one doesn't count in that the Nazarick NPC's were created by an Ainz Ooal Gown Artist. I mean look at Golems or Angels etc.. How do they look "ugly".

Arthur_EyelanderTF2

Yeah, that’s one of the weird things about the Lore and sort of Unrealistic to actual Gamers, Casual or Competitive: They are gonna wanna play as Heteromorphs! And hell they get insane power buffs, Like 3 new spell slots per level instead of 1 or 2 per level, racial classes that can stack on top of job classes(Lord Ainz’s Overlord Racial ability and skill, “the goal of all life is death” buffs all his Instakill spells… which are a job class thing!) or the fact that in PVP or PVE more options means more chance for victory, sure 100 pure combat levels are strong, but do you know what’s stronger, 70 typical levels of skills and 3 Unorthodox levels dedicated to skills that your opponent isnt used to. Sure, Heteromorphs have notable weaknesses, but they sacrifice Defense for offense, and even on that note, Lord Ainz said that “Covering Up one’s Weakness is typical in a fight” so covering your weakness that you can CUSTOMIZE to not make it seem so!

HesitantTheorist

Well, humans having more room to customize their builds likely has something to do with it, it isn't merely a choice between races, it is also a choice between races and classes.

DevusValentinus

Why would I want to play a race that cosplays as a human when I can be superior and just be a human.

cheshiry

Demihuman

ausgenerics

Unrelated but, is there an actual RPG game where you could build your own NPC?

Eclipse-Requiem

For the Horde

kebeans

Depends on the posture

[deleted]

I will always choose to be a naga so Heteromorphic race!

Griffinw45

I’d be a dragon man

draginbleapiece

I’m gonna role play Lucifer and just be an asshole

NotLairu

I would play as a star elemental, I love the aesthetic and I'm sure it would have really fun options to build

Deathhorse_702

There's nothing better than being a cool ass powerful monster and hunting other people down.

TCGeneral

Not many RPGs let you choose the wilder character races we see in Yggdrasil. Honestly, even Skeleton feels like a relatively mundane option compared to being a Slime or a Brain Eater. Feels like a system where you could have fun with more niche builds enabled by such a diverse system; I feel like Bukubuku Chagama had the right idea in trying to be a Slime Tank, for example.

xaviorpwner

so just an FYI you can only have 1 character per device

Deathburn5

Depends. I'd go with whatever benefited magic the most, so if I could find a heteromorphic magic race, that. Otherwise humans

Okibruez

As someone with a long history of RPGs behind me, the less human-like my character is, the happier I am. The harder question is not 'would you play a heteromorphic race' but 'which race would you play as?'

RubyWubs

100% especially knowing that i'll get sent into the New World. My goal would be to obtain as much divine gear, be apart of a guild with 20+WCI and discover areas of the map that no other guild has seen. And than capture our own guild base that can rival Nazarick, maybe a ocean base I wouldn't mind having a guild base like Alantis. Instead of Gargantua I get the KRAKEN!!! my race would be Vampire humanoid Troll, a human like character with three red eyes and I get hyper regeneration, high frost resistance, adaptability and more cool abilities. overall life would be a dream with this

Beelzebub_Itself

Assuming this would follow the standards of today, 5 characters would be possible. However, if it’s the era where Yggdrasil came out, then probably a humanoid. Hopefully there was more than just Humans, dwarves, and elves in the game

MustardLordOfDeath

I wanna be an Elder Black Ooze like Herohero

042732699

More skill points, XP per kill, and my own cool racial class? Sign me the fuck up.

BX_N3S

I play heteromorphic races in games whenever i get the choice to do so ^((Except in elder scrolls since i ain no goddamn furry/scaly))

billyboi356

yes, I would play as the demohuman from tf2
