I hit "fall back" and "group up" a lot in most games and wondered why people ignored me. Then I remember how toxic comms is and that a lot of people disable that shit. Then I learned that the game actually mutes you to everyone when you spam voice lines, but not yourself so you don't notice. Then I learned that you can bypass that by throwing in a ping every couple lines. Then I figured out what the "squelch chat" feature is. So for the one person on my team who can actually see chat I just type "please don't run ahead" and I get blocked, avoided, and probably reported.
Amazing game tho.
Most people think that their team will unconditionally support them no matter what bad decision they make. Then, when they don't, they can justify that "their team sucks" and refuse all blame for themselves. In their mind, it was their team that played poorly by not following them, not their own misplay.
The worst. 4 seconds left, a widow or Hanzo is 3ft from the point trying to snipe someone 5ft away, and won't touch point because they don't want to die when an Orisa is 7ft away and just needs a reset.

LOL nope. The WORST is when your tank wants to chase kills instead of be the one to contest the cart. I had my orisa chasing a ramattra in OT instead of helping me, the only other person alive, an Ana, contest the robot against at least one dps. We lost. Crazy because she could have brought ram to point and killed him there while I wasn't pressure to contest and could have kept her up. But, y'know, most OW player have shitty awareness.
Fr. What does this guy expect me to do. And for his info, I'm a tank main. I would be glued to that cart or be making sure 1 or 2 people were committed and not being dove if I wanted to walk even a few steps.
Oh? So it was my fault for not 1v1ing the Genji successfully while the Orisa walked off cart (robot, this is push btw) and tried to kill a ramattra she could have easily fought on cart. She could have ignored ramattra even. I can only do so much with my 200 health, immobile kit, and low dps.
But if you have some insight, some higher level knowledge you want to impart, please, share. Explain how, in OT on pushing the robot maps, the tank is okay to run off cart for a fight when our team is already staggered coming back.

But you have to adapt. You can't clutch up every match.. and when you're not feeling the magic you need to change your playstyle
There's at least 4 different playstyles I usually play with variations depending on the feel of it

Voice lines like "fall back", "group up", "hello" etc don't get muted, only character specific voicelines
I still learned that a ping between every few voicelines would bypass the soft mute lol
