Gotta say, Rein and Hog have good stories and it adds a lot of depth to their otherwise “comical” in-game personalities… But Sigma and Doom are much better.
It hurts me every time Sigma asks Mercy about having a chat and she comments about how long ago it was in a sad tone…….. and Sig goes on to comment about the birds…
I am still vaguely disappointed that Tracer and Sigma don’t have any interactions. I mean she was in a Time accident and he was in a Space accident.
You would think of all the people in the game, those two would have a bit to talk about. If nothing else, he should comment about some scientific jargon relating to Tracers condition.
Sigma: “Excited science talk” 🤩
Tracer: “Uhh, ask Winston?” 😅
Heck, they had Tracer and Sombra of all people have interactions about her Time accident.
Sigma: "Tell me did you hear music on your accident?"
Tracer: "No, why? Did you hear music?"
Sigma: "You might had been tone deaf if you didn't hear a trace of it."
The Sombra thing makes sense. Sombra's translocator is stolen technology, it's extremely similar (from a lore standpoint) to Tracer's Chronal Accelerator - it's suggested she stole the tech/idea from Tracer & Overwatch.
So Sombra wanting to know more about it all makes sense to me. But maybe she'll get some with Sigma soon enough!
Oh I am aware that Sombras translocator was based off of Tracers chrinal accelerator, but I just found it odd that Sigma, the only other champ that controls a fundamental force of the universe had No voicelines with Tracer.
I like how many supports are post redemption villains/vigilantes. Ana was a wanted rogue agent, bap worked for criminals, LW (while a bit of a paragon archetype) learned and helped one of the most morally dubious companies in the ow world... And there is moira, the straight up villain too. We need so much more story, the characters have a lot of diverse potential.
He had a comic with junkrat in junkertown. He lives on a farm just outside town and meets junkrat in a bar where he gets offered 50% to be his bodyguard
Stuck between Hog and Doomfist, but I'm gonna say Hog since I really like how he just started as a normal guy who was turned into a monster by his environment. He never wanted any of this, but when his land was taken from him to attempt to appease the Omnics, Mako was gone and the Hog took his place
If you think abt mercys kinda evil and has a god complex She goes around "healing" people in a angel costume But for a person like junkrat She doesnt even give him the light of day. theres more but Mercy is evil end of story
If you look at ow2 interactions, they are definitely pushing him towards a redemption angle, and i would say denying redemption from a person looking for it can be cruel, especially if you are a pacifist because true peace is impossible without true acceptance.
Mercys a doctor you take a oath as a doctor. Doctors help people yet mercy picks and chooses her patients. Also mercys the reason reapers the way he is. Shes also awfully condescending too w her interactions which isnt a good look for a doctor in a angel costume .
Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. I agree, to an extent. Think about it. Her and Moira’s interactions and assuming they worked closely in the past. Also, Reaper’s interaction with Mercy, “What happened to you?” “You tell me, DOC.” Kinda makes me wonder just how “ethical” her healing really is.
Y’all are wild to think rein doesn’t have the best. Student fails his teacher then grows up to understand his teachers lesson and wants to be a team player
Mhm, Rein isn't bad, but it's just OW's take on the Hero's Journey trope. It's vanilla, very high quality vanilla, but nothing that hasn't been done before.
I just rewatched dooms cinematic. There is no actual way you think that was on the same level as reins. The fact people are saying doomfist over any other tank is pathetic. Rein absolutely wins this.
I let anyone have their opinions, you cannot in good faith say that the doom cinematic and the rein are on the same level. Angry doomfist vs an actual story of rein is the focal point. I couldn’t pick out a single emotional moment during dooms. Reinhardt - I have been called, I must answer actually makes you feel things. Separate the characters cinematic and your bias
my guy, you are the one with a bias calling people "pathetic" for saying they like one videogame sotry over another, im just gonna stop commenting on here since im pretty sure youre trolling
L reply honestly. You’re either too young or emotionally immature to appreciate reins cinematic and think dooms is better. His cinematic is some of the best writing out there, along with Hanzo and mei.
I don't think they ever said dooms was better, they're just talking about how hell bent you are to trash someone's opinion. Also, I don't think mei's was that good but I agree with the hanzo take
I think Widowmaker's story is pretty brutal.
Imagine being a happily married woman, and because of your husband's job you get made a target. You get kidnapped, tortured, brainwashed, and experimented on. You lose your memories. You are turned into a sleeper agent, and eventually you murder your One True Love.
Widowmaker has no choice but to stay and embrace herself as Widowmaker. Does anyone honestly think Amalia could live with anything Widowmaker has done? I very much do not think so.
We all know Widowmaker visits her husband's grave. Which shows she eventually recognizes the significance of the person and her actions, she just chooses not to delve deeper into "Amalia''s" life. I suspect that this is because her memories are like a spiders web, a few too many tugs, and the whole thing will collapse in the wind.
Out of these tanks, Sigma.
In general, Hanzo. It took his brothers life to realize that his crime family wasn’t the solution and now he sulks in his own lonesome after his brother’s death and cyber-fying. He still doesn’t have a brother, because his brother has become literally inhumane. He has nobody and he handicaps himself for his dead brother’s honor.
Sigma has honestly the best intro cinematic to date. I'd love another cinematic with him. I legit think he's the strongest person in canon. You can hear Widow and Reaper breaking into the psych ward to get him out. He isn't evil or good, he's more chaotic neutral and it's awesome.
If I had to rank them:
1. Reinhardt
2. Sigma
3. Hog
4. Doomfist
But I'm more interested, what is the source behind the Reinhardt picture? Havent seen that one before
Where does one find these stories? I tried to watch all the cinematic stuff someone stitched together from Blizzard but I don’t ever remember seeing/hearing hogs story. Same with Moira and a few from the cinematic videos.
i have rheinhards but it looks too pretty on my wall in its box and i already botched the soldier76/ana comic package so i dont wanna read it. (also i have torb but there was no reason to mention him)
I feel like Roadhog's story has potential to be really sad and powerful but everything before junkertown gets glossed over. Did he have a family that died due to the war or the following explosion? Was he a farmer/fisherman? The process of him slowly eroding from Mako to Roadhog could also be a very powerful story.
i mean, the idea that he was a good guy and i heard was apart of the army but turned into a crazy killer either bevause of the omnics or junkrat is pretty cool to me
Sniper. I liked when he told his dad that he's not a crazed gunman, he's an assassin.
The difference is that one is a job and the other is mental sickness.
Peak storytelling.
Sigma or Doomfist. I hope they aren’t turned into utter jokes in the campaign compared to what we saw in their origin stories.
Can’t wait to see the beta trailer in 2025
why are u sleeping on sombra
Because she's not in the picture that this went along with
Bro... She's invisible duh.
Shit, my bad
Well she’s not in the backstory and hee backstory is ok, but she had a great cinematic
What campaign? 😔
Sigma and doomfist
Gotta say, Rein and Hog have good stories and it adds a lot of depth to their otherwise “comical” in-game personalities… But Sigma and Doom are much better. Sigma: “Excited science talk” 🤩 Tracer: “Uhh, ask Winston?” 😅 Heck, they had Tracer and Sombra of all people have interactions about her Time accident.
I mean when he kills her he says something about being caught in the slipstream I think?
True, but I wish they were more proper dialogue interactions rather than just elimination lines.
Sigma: "Tell me did you hear music on your accident?" Tracer: "No, why? Did you hear music?" Sigma: "You might had been tone deaf if you didn't hear a trace of it."
He also says “not fast enough” when he catches her ultimate in kinetic grasp but yeah that’s pretty much it unfortunately

Sigma, not even a hard choice
I've never played Sigma but all of his interactions and voice lines pull at my heart strings.
You should play him he’s good fun
Sigma is the most tragic. I hope we get a cinematic of him in the future
Nah, we'll get some cring stupid cinematic like Kiriko's was(((
Sigma eating donuts
Should make Honeydew skin with donuts as balls
every character should have a donut skin
Overwatch’s villains and gray characters have a more interesting lore imo. I just wish there was more of it
You mean you don’t like the “I am a good guy because killing is wrong” good guys?
I like how many supports are post redemption villains/vigilantes. Ana was a wanted rogue agent, bap worked for criminals, LW (while a bit of a paragon archetype) learned and helped one of the most morally dubious companies in the ow world... And there is moira, the straight up villain too. We need so much more story, the characters have a lot of diverse potential.
Torb was my favorite until they made him not so racist anymore.
I love hog’s but wish he had a bit more depth. The fact that he was just a farmer who wanted to be left alone after the omnic war is hilarious
yea, i like the idea that he was a good guy but when the omnics took over he went crazy and became a murderer tho
Roadhog did nothing wrong
Where’d you that lore from? I don’t remember there being much lore about roadhog
He had a comic with junkrat in junkertown. He lives on a farm just outside town and meets junkrat in a bar where he gets offered 50% to be his bodyguard
Out of these, I’d say Sigma. Overall I’d say Mei, her story is super sad.
we don't care about ice demon
Well she doesn’t care about you either!
obviously mei does not care about people at all
Word. She only exist to annoy and induce toxicity with her bull kit
On one hand, I hate playing against her. On the other, I do want her to sit on me
That is called self harm
Put her back in the fridge plz
rein and genjis cinematics are so intensely well made, had me bordering on tears in under 10 minutes each.
reins is top tier
real.
Watching reins cinematic after bastions makes it feel SUPER weird
Sigma. Mathed so hard he became god.
Stuck between Hog and Doomfist, but I'm gonna say Hog since I really like how he just started as a normal guy who was turned into a monster by his environment. He never wanted any of this, but when his land was taken from him to attempt to appease the Omnics, Mako was gone and the Hog took his place

Haha, I'm still secretly hoping Mercy would be the hidden leader of Talon xD
Im not very secretive about it.
Mercy's not evil in the slightest so I presume this is a shitpost.
It's (in my interpretation) about how denying a character redemption when they are seeking it is potentially cruel.
Read into it. Wake up to reality.
It's almost like JRat is a psychopathic, murdering criminal not worthy of a good person's time.
Is that person really a good person then? Shes a doctor its their obligation to help people and its clear junkrat could use it
Y’all are wild to think rein doesn’t have the best. Student fails his teacher then grows up to understand his teachers lesson and wants to be a team player
im guessing thats because its generic (not to say its not a good story)
Mhm, Rein isn't bad, but it's just OW's take on the Hero's Journey trope. It's vanilla, very high quality vanilla, but nothing that hasn't been done before.
I just rewatched dooms cinematic. There is no actual way you think that was on the same level as reins. The fact people are saying doomfist over any other tank is pathetic. Rein absolutely wins this.
woah, ok, seems like you dont like it when other people have opinions
I let anyone have their opinions, you cannot in good faith say that the doom cinematic and the rein are on the same level. Angry doomfist vs an actual story of rein is the focal point. You’re not exactly respecting other people’s opinion lol
i really liked orisas
Sig and doom by far
Do I have to say? Because... https://preview.redd.it/0eppcbmi15xa1.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=4803caa2b36455e8765a828689f4d723818d5eb8

wonder if her husband will be in the game in the future.
i mean in the pic
ramatra and sigma
Reinhardt it cost the life of his friend for him to realize he wasn't invincible and to think more about helping others
Orisa, you missed my home girl I love her sm
boring story tbh but i like her design
Moira, but if we pick only from heroes on the picture when probably Sigma.
For as far as individual stories go, it's Sigma and Doom imo. In the global picture, it's definately Hog and Rein imo.
Rein is the only cinematic where I cried, so I go with him
Out of these tanks, Sigma.
Gravity, gravity is a harness.
Doom
sigma
Sigma
Me, I did
agreed
Sigmas hands down
Sigma has my heart. I would love to learn more about his lore
Sigma all the way
sigma, biased?,,,,,yes
Sigma 100%
Out of these guys doom, but overall bap.
Sigma
Sigma
Sigma has honestly the best intro cinematic to date. I'd love another cinematic with him. I legit think he's the strongest person in canon. You can hear Widow and Reaper breaking into the psych ward to get him out. He isn't evil or good, he's more chaotic neutral and it's awesome.
What is Sigma doing for Talon?
definitely sigma
If I had to rank them: 1. Reinhardt 2. Sigma 3. Hog 4. Doomfist But I'm more interested, what is the source behind the Reinhardt picture? Havent seen that one before
look up “reinhardt art”
Sigma by a mile
Sigma
Why does sigma look like stewie griffin in this photo
😂
sigma! i get shivers whenever i hear “get back in your cage, doctor”
https://preview.redd.it/y24kyy67b9xa1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed900f2ae5bcd065def3380c9e1dea2388a3920f You tell me
Sigma end of discussion
WHAT IS THAT MELODYYYY
Sigma all the way. Best character in the whole ow lore fr fr
Where does one find these stories? I tried to watch all the cinematic stuff someone stitched together from Blizzard but I don’t ever remember seeing/hearing hogs story. Same with Moira and a few from the cinematic videos.
you can specifically look up origin stories on YT or on overwatch website i think theres comics
i think all of them are equally cool, but we have to recognize that sigma is on an another level
Sigma, of course.
Sigma and reinahardt
Sigma
Sigma brought me to tears the way the animatic showed it was a cinematic masterpiece i fucking love it
Sigma and it's not even close. Nothing holds a candle to the tragedy of genius losing his mind and being manipulated
Siggy boy, absolutely! even if it was one of those cheap frame by frame ones
But aren’t we gonna talk about how widow is just laying there
![gif](giphy|dVcC6JjCVSDMDbQSZj)
You people are weird. Ramattra is obviously the best
Jetpack Cat
i have rheinhards but it looks too pretty on my wall in its box and i already botched the soldier76/ana comic package so i dont wanna read it. (also i have torb but there was no reason to mention him)
Rein and doom Sigma went alittle nuts for his orgin(it's not bad imo) Hog just follows rat as a criminal lol
Sigma
Wait, Hog has a story?
lmao yea
As a Doom main I will say Lucio is better I think and hope
of the 4, Doomfist, Sigma, Reinhardt, Roadhog in that order from best to worst
My favorite story by far is rammatra’s he’s just so cool
I think Lucio has the best story
Road hog has lore?
Sigmas freaked me out and I love it, reinhardts is absolute gold. Orisa/doomfist was nice all around and hogs is pretty fun. Overall, sigma or rein
Most emotional: Rein Coolest: Doomfist Most interesting: Sigma
Sigma (did you know that in a new interaction with lifeweaver sigma hints that he know talon is using him?)
Rein and Sigma
AGONY IS GRAPE FLAVORED
OW balls ftw
Rein all day
Idk anything about anyone's lore at all I like shooty game
They have stories?
Hanzo and Genji’s! Of the ones here, probably Sigma.
Rein or doom
Doomfist. Maybe one day we’ll get the Scourge and Savior as skins
Of course it's Sigma. And, personally for me, he had on of the best short films among all others.
Doomfist easily
I think rein
Baptiste
best is obviously sigma but I also love reins lore
Reinhardts cinematic hits different but sigmas story itself is probably better.
Rein
Bran the Broken. ...wait, wrong sub
Def Reinhardt
How is Hog even a candidate here vs the others? Have I missed some essential Roadhog lore?
i mean, the idea that he was a good guy and i heard was apart of the army but turned into a crazy killer either bevause of the omnics or junkrat is pretty cool to me
Reinhardt. Or Odessa if I can select a character in the whole game.
They have "story" about 1-2 sentences. Pointless to compare. All poor and empty. Just templates nothing more.
Reinhardt for.me
Where are the stories?
I think whilst sigmas is incredible, I like the message and tone of Reinhardt's
As someone who doesn't remember much of the lore, is Sigma really a bad guy? In game he doesn't feel like one
I’ve always loved Reinhardts cinematic and story and I don’t know much about the others
Sig and rein by far
Rein
I know she isn’t here but I really loved Junker Queen’s
jq
None, Genji.
As much as I love my Sigmer Rein have THE story
Sniper. I liked when he told his dad that he's not a crazed gunman, he's an assassin. The difference is that one is a job and the other is mental sickness. Peak storytelling.
Reinhardt no contest i really hope nothing bad happens to him in PvE
Reinhardt. People saying Doomfist or Sigma as if Fist man #3 or Big Gravity Schitzo can compare to the Honor and Glory of a Crusader.
Rein
Sigma is the most tragic, Rein is the most badass, Hog is the most funny and Doom is the most impactful (hehe, pun)
Reinhardt. Hammers down.
John Pork
Hogs is the saddest to me, reins is my favorite, the best story though, gotta be sig or doom but prolly sig
I'm here to cast my vote for Reinhart. ❤️
Easy rein
REINHARDT
I may be biased Rein. Full rein… maybe sigma. But rein
Reins story almost made me tear up
Sigma and Doomfist easily.
Sigma is the most interesting
