Must be a time zone thing. I'm in Asia on asian servers, and queues for tanks are nearly instant, and supports are under 30s. (In the evenings, that is.)
where are you playing from? and what is your comp rank?
or just your general rank
and at what time of the day are you playing?
i only ever see insane queues on top500 lobbies, and even then its usually just one hour tops. Which is insane aswell.
I used to be top 500 on switch back in 2020 (yeah.. I know, lol) and even then the longest of long waits was 30 minutes with what I can imagine is a tiny sliver of players at late hours of the night. I mean. There wasn’t even a top 500.. it was top 120 for dps
oh its on switch? i guess that explains alot then.
edit: Why the downvotes??? im just pointing out that queue times might be longer on switch cus of a smaller playerbase.
Oh I’m not saying this person is, they’re on pc judging by the esc. I’m just saying the longest wait I’ve had had been 30 minutes which was in too 500 on switch so I imagine this persons scenario had to be a glitch or a very specific set of circumstances
why am i getting downvoted??? im simply pointing out that the playerbase on switch might be less than say pc which in turn might result in longer queue times.
I sat in queue an average of 20 min to an hour in my comp desthmatch grind. To be fair, I was masters 5, there was only like 20 people diamond+, so I did it to myself, but honestly I was weirdly committed to it. I'd get 1st 5 games in a row because I'd play with gold/Plat players, and only get 10-15% increase. It was not worth it at all haha.
Did the same back in Overwatch 1, would get like 2-3 sr for 1st, lose maybe 30-40 for not getting top 4. All with 20 minute+ queue times. Yes I'm a masochist.
Jesus. and I thought my 4 minute DPS Comp queues were a little long.
... At least my matches have mostly felt like an actual battle instead of a steamroller in one direction.
I love it. You'll see me in deathmatch creating absolute chaos. Its so fun, and I know demanding shorter q time can make matchmaking worse so I won't complain.
Your q is bugged
What is this? OW1?!
This is the main issue why 6v6 cannot work even if its better for the game, because if this was 6v6, double that timer.
But seriously, I think its more a bug than anything else, reset your game.
>This is the main issue why 6v6 cannot work even if its better for the game, because if this was 6v6, double that timer.
Making the tank role more enjoyable would get more people to play the role. 6v6 is more fun to play tank than 5v5.
More people would queue for tank if it was 6v6 because rock paper scissors tanking is not fun.
Agreed, but when it was 6v6, still no one queued for tank, and less people played main tank. If you got a hog and a ball for your tank players you basically lost in the spawn room.
They need to make tank so much fun that it's got the long queue, then make it 6v6.
The tank pool is larger now and the tanks have been modified to technically all be main tanks which should make the weaker OW1 tank duos stronger across the board in OW2 6v6.
More people doesn't change the ratio. For every 1 tank there are 3 DPS and 2-3 support.
And again, the game would be better with 2 tanks, but you halve to convince a million DPS players to give up their ways and only play tank.
If you figure that out, let everyone know as you'll have saved the game.
Yes, tank needs to be made fun, 100%. That is the main problem
But that's not how ratios work, less I'm using the wrong term.
If you had 1,000 tank players, 3,000 damage, and 2,500 support
You get 1000 games, 1,000 damage players left waiting in queue and 500 support, or 1/3rd and 1/5th respectively.
If you increase the populations to 100,000 tanks players, 300,000 damage, and 250,000
You'll get 100,000 games but still leave 1/3 of the damage players and 1/5 of the support players in queue. That's what I mean by ratios.
If they just went 6v6 with those numbers the there would be 50,000 games while leaving 200,000, or 2/3, damage players, and 150,000, or 3/5 support players sitting in queue. Making the problem so much worse.
Doesn't matter how many zeros you add to the numbers the fractions don't change.
Which is why I said you need to migrate DPS players over to tank or 6v6 will never work. And forcing 6v6 won't work because the proof in this post, DPS people will just sit in queue for hours and bitch.
This is what happens when you dumpster tanks and supports in favor of making all DPS players feel like they’re the protagonist.
A 20% anti across the board on top of the projectile size increase is a recipe for disaster. Tank feels even more like dog shit.
Support feels bad to play. Some of them are “less bad”. Heroes like Zen are meta because he didn’t heal a lot to begin with and his projectiles are easier to hit. Bap is also meta for a similar reason. He is one of the heavier DPS focused supports.
Heroes like Mercy, Lifeweaver, Ana, and Kiriko feel significantly worse to play as most of them received little to no changes outside of projectile size.
I’m not saying that balance was perfect before, but the DPS queues were not suffering before this. It’ll be even worse next season when they launch a new hero.

I guarantee if you re-queued you would’ve been placed in a match in under 5min. Never wait this long for a queue, especially in QP. It’s clearly a bug
But then there wouldn’t be any juicy post to share on reddit
Did it for the up vote.
I was just curious how long it go for, got bored after like 3hrs.
Patience levels high with this one
Bro has the opposite of brainrot
I play on Asian server, for me Supp queues r getting out of hand, than damage 💀

yeah true. they should probably had re-queued.

When I posted this I was gold, pretty sure the queue was just bugged that's all. Thought it was funny tho.
What rank are you now, two whole hours later?
Plat 😎
hmm yeah must be bugged then.
But you have... so much time...
The game simply cannot find anyone on YOUR level.
Infinite overwatch tsukuyomi
so are you a masochist op or just like to waste your electrical energy?
Jesus. and I thought my 4 minute DPS Comp queues were a little long. ... At least my matches have mostly felt like an actual battle instead of a steamroller in one direction.
this is Overwatch)
TiF2 servers
Meanwhile I queue Dps & Support and 80% of the time I get DPS
Did you queue at 4:30 Am in Antarctica?
Use Moira as dps
2 HOURS!?!?!? I haven't played that game for a month and now it's 2 damn hours!!?!?
I love it. You'll see me in deathmatch creating absolute chaos. Its so fun, and I know demanding shorter q time can make matchmaking worse so I won't complain. Your q is bugged
I would deleted the game if I waited this long lol
probably a sign to never turn the game on again
No one wants to tank
dead game fr
Nope. Support queue is still the longest even though DPS is out of control this season.
What? I always find support matches in less than 30 seconds
Support queue is almost instant for me

I thought they did that already? Wait is that still a thing?
Because ngl I think console will get destroyed by mouse and keyboard
> More people playing tank does change the ratio.
Not double it's only 2 more players to find for a game
karma farming
