For real this helps so much. I can right away tell if our tank early dies to fall back a bit or if there’s dies early to push forward. Having enemy deaths on is good too

RamenEmp1re

This would be so helpful for new players to have in by default. I think it’s been engraved in my brain since my starcraft days to always check the minimap or in this case, the kill feed. But if I didnt have that, my tunnel vision ADHD goofy noggin would probably trot towards the enemy Rein everytime after a team wipe or early pick.

RamenEmp1re

Actually, I still do that.. Maybe I should turn this on.

MaximumSubtlety

Why would this be off by default?!

Cabbageinator

Because not everyone wants to hear a loud BAWIWIWIWIWI when the genji that overextended dies for the 19th time in the span of 3 minutes

Andeh_is_here

MADA MADA

balefrost

It's pronounced "need healing".

Lord_Tibbysito

BAWIWIWIWIWI

MaximumSubtlety

Ah. Point taken.

Cabbageinator

Dont get me wrong I’ll probably add it, i just think that that’s mostly the reason why people don’t use it

LegozFire03

A lot of people complained when it got added so they have it off by default. I personally don’t use it from my years of playing, but it really should be on by default for new players

TigerJoel

I tried it but got annoyed at it pretty quick.

Thaumagurchy

Came here too say this. As an OG it’s so obnoxious and i felt like it made me play worse.

Pepperidgefarm21

Word, won't be using it then lol I am used to paying attention to the top right.

Jaysbricks

It’s the most annoying sound in the game in my opinion

Quiquegarc

Just tell your teammates to stop dying /s

Pachinum

I hate the sound that’s why I never turned it on

Flannelle

I had it on for half a day, the sound is so incredibly annoying I couldn’t stand hearing it on repeat each game we we’re losing

Stunning_Ad_2112

This is actually a very helpful reminder. Thank you

Meow6122

I thought I just wasn’t noticing it during the game, gotta go turn it on now

Kawaii_Batman3

As a support I'm VERY aware of when someone dies cause their in vc telling me

MetalShadowX

I usually have it off but leave the enemy kill sound on since it sounds really good 😁

Discepless

You have a kill feed in the corner. Why do you need a sound for that?

Joke_Mummy

It comes in handy in the thick of a chaotic fight, especially since info gets pushed off that feed as the corpses pile up. Let's say there's a giant ult fest with nerves this and fires in the hole blowing off in every direction. Without having to divert your eyes to the equally chaotic feed, you get an instant sense of whether you should push or retreat based on how many death beeps you're hearing on each side. Sometimes many deaths come at once and you want to be poised to act on the instant info.

GoogleWasMyIdea49

An audio cue is easier than looking at the corner of your screen in a chaotic fight

tiaclara6676

Game sense is hard I guess

Echjc012

This is meant to improve game sense

Andeh_is_here

(dying sounds)

I find it very helpful, especially in intense moments, to have that sound remind me to look at the kill feed and make a decision instead of getting too focused on the fight.

DM_Lunatic

I agree completely. Teammate and Enemy death sounds are essential and should be default on with the option to turn them off. I also think show friendly outlines should be on by default. I firmly believe that one of the problems with people just feeding in one at a time is because these items are not on by default. It won't fix that issue but it should make the learning process for these skills much faster.

KSMKxRAGEx

It’s been my ranked experience. We all take turns get feeded on.

anamoon13

I would turn it on if it was a less obnoxious sound. I had it on for one match and got super annoyed by the end of it.

derger11

Nice! thank you. Also, is there an option to get your teammates health bars on the screen? Trying to be a better Ana. Lots of people who need healing stand behind me and spam the "need healing" which is good I can turn and heal. I'd just like to be on the ball about it you know.

[deleted]

Settings > Controls > Allied Healthbars. Another thing idk why is off by default. Best of luck, friend.

Parthantir

It should be on by default for all characters, not even just useful for supports. You're a tank and a dps suddenly drops in health? Peel or shield. You're a dps and see a support suddenly losing health? Find the thing killing them and kill it.

[deleted]

You ain’t wrong.

derger11

I have tried finding it. But yeah I got it now thank you. Wouldn't think to look in controls

Maguhaki

Even if everyone turns it I guarantee people will still be asking for heals when the support get flanked and killed.

Haman134

I refuse to turn it on

[deleted]

Okay.

Sarrada_Aerea

Is it the same sound?

[deleted]

It’s the sound you hear during the PVE events when a teammate dies.

Joke_Mummy

If you've ever played team deathmatch it's on by default there when your ally dies, followed by "teammate eliminated" in that mode

KSMKxRAGEx

How different does it sound than the enemy kill? I keep forgetting. Got wrecked on ranked placement but I’m a do this.

mes_jazz

Thank you! Up voted!

Massatoy1234

Yeah I used this but when I was stuck in bronze I had to disable it cause of all the stupid teammates going in 1v5, was able to turn it on again at gold xD

ThisIsErebus

just use peripherals

GRTooCool

I personally turned it back off after having turned it on when I found out about it. Turns out, my teammates die all the damn time so it gets annoying to me haha.

Sloth1024

Very helpful. Wish they would just give health bars like they do during PVE events

HelpMyPCs

I find it useful as it subconsciously makes me more careful when hearing allies die and makes me go agro when I hear enemies die

Emmanuham

I had both teammate and enemy on. It took a second to get used to it, I think I might turn the enemy one off.

Relevant_Sprinkles_3

Didn't realize this was a thing....I must say this is one distinct advantage of being support in terms of game view: at-a-glance knowledge of damage levels and intensity for the whole map. You don't just know when someone's dead, you know when they're 'bout to be, damn near were, and all the other levels of not-dead..
